Inscryption Announced for PlayStation Consoles

1 year 10 months ago

The previous PC-exclusive “inky black card-based odyssey” Inscryption will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 some time in the future. Inscryption released back in October 2021.

For those who might not be aware of exactly what Inscryption is, there is a an announcement trailer for this news. However, it certainly won’t give you the answers you are looking for.

You can watch the announcement trailer below, it’s the best kind of confusing.

The video’s description gives slightly more info, but is also just as vague as the trailer.

From the creator of Pony Island and The Hex comes the latest mind melting, self-destructing love letter to video games. Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards…

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me Reveals Story in New Trailer

1 year 10 months ago

While just this year we did get The Quarry, Supermassive Games isn’t done yet. The Devil in Me serves as the season one finale to The Dark Pictures Anthology after three other games. The Dark Pictures Anthology games have done, spooky ship, spooky boat, and spooky cave. Now it’s time to venture into spooky hotel.

This time around a documentary crew receive a call from a mysterious and reclusive rich guy to invite them to a replica of hotel H.H. Holmes built and supposedly used to kill his victims. Everything seems to be going well until the hotel is revealed to be a series of traps, isolating the documentary crew and subjecting them to what seems to be Saw-like contraptions.

You can see the trailer for yourself below:

For the first time, it seems the Dark Pictures Anthology will be dipping into a level of reality. H.H. Holmes was an actual serial killer in the early 1890’s in Chicago, and did construct a building that the papers referred to as the “Murder Castle.”

E3 2023 Dates Announced, PAX Organizer to Help Produce Show

1 year 10 months ago

The ESA has announced today that E3 will return in the second week of June 2023, and will partner with PAX organizer, ReedPop, to produce the show.

The news comes following three years of an in-person version of E3 having not taken place. Instead, in past years, developers and publishers have ran their own livestreams to showcase announcements of upcoming games, and industry veteran Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest has also helped fill the early June void left by the tradeshow.

Commenting on E3’s return in 2023, President of ReedPop Lance Fensterman said, “It is a tremendous honor and privilege to ReedPop to take on the responsibility of bringing E3 back in 2023.”

“With the support and endorsement of the ESA, we’re going to build a world class event to serve the global gaming industry in new and broader ways than we already do at ReedPop through our portfolio of world leading events and websites.”

ReedPop is the organizer of PAX, New York Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration, and will lead the in-person return of E3 2023.

It was also announced that a secure and streamlined media registration process will open later this year, which in the past has led to data leaks of attendees’ private and confidential information.

When Is E3 2023?

Currently, the ESA and ReedPop have announced that E3 will take place in “the second week of June 2023.” This means it is likely the first showcases from publishers will take place on the weekend of the June 10-11, with the show floor being open from Monday June 12, through until Wednesday June 14, as the show traditionally runs for three days.

Concrete dates for showcases haven’t been confirmed at the time of writing, though.

It’s not easily found within the world, however.

How to Get Clay in Stardew Valley

Gwent: Rogue Mage Turns the Card Game Into a Deckbuilding Roguelike

1 year 10 months ago

You read that right, the usually multiplayer card game Gwent is has now been turned into a single player deckbuilding roguelike. Gwent: Rogue Mage is out today and considered a “single-player expansion” to Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. Rogue Mage is fully standalone and doesn’t require owning the original game.

The press release cites this reason as “due to its extensive scope and single-player nature, Rogue Mage is distributed separately from Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.” Seeing as Rogue Mage does offer a fully single-player experience, it doesn’t require an internet connection. For those who would like to play Rogue Mage on differently platforms, “players can also utilize cross-saves, allowing them to transfer their progress across all supported platforms when logged in via a GOG account.”

As for setting, Rogue Mage takes place “hundreds of years” before the Witcher games, when there were deadly monsters everywhere but not yet any Witchers. Players will control the mage Alzur, and his companion Lily as they “embark on a dangerous quest to create a living weapon that will eradicate the monster threat once and for all.”

Gwent: Rogue Mage is available for PC on Steam and GOG as well as iOS and Android devices. The game is $9.99 on all platforms, but Steam and GOG offer a digital deluxe edition for $19.99 that includes:

Stardew Valley: How to Get Hardwood

1 year 10 months ago

Stardew Valley features a ton of different supplies and resources that you’ll need in order to craft things within the game. Not to mention they’re how you can make some extra coins. You’ll find an abundance of wood wherever you chop, but what about that red wood known as Hardwood? What gives with that? It seems you’ll need a small amount of them for crafting certain things, so it must not be very common.

How to Get Hardwood in Stardew Valley

You’re right in those assumptions. In order to get Hardwood, you need to chop up those fallen tree logs, giant stumps or the large Mahogany Trees.

The best place to find these is the Secret Woods in the northwest corner of Cindersap Forest. Six of the large stumps spawn here every day, even if they’re cut down the day before, meaning you’ve got a never-ending supply of Hardwood in Stardew Valley.

To reach here, though, you’ll need to cut through the log lying in the way just above the Wizard’s Tower, shown in the image below, which requires you to have a Steel Axe to cut through.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Preview – A New Familiar Feeling

1 year 10 months ago

With the recent Nintendo Direct and just under three weeks to go until the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the hype for this game is approaching its climax. Even though Nintendo has been happy to share tons of information with the public, there’s plenty more that’s new and familiar for fans of the franchise to dig into.

First off, the battle system in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will look unsurprisingly familiar to those who have played past titles. You can run around with the left stick, approach an enemy to start auto-attacking it, and use special attacks called Arts with the face buttons. But it’s the additions to this system that help to keep the experience feeling fresh.

Attack canceling returns from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to help give a relatively passive battle system a bit more interactivity. Canceling auto attacks with Arts can boost the efficacy of these special moves. The margin of error for timing the attack cancel isn’t massive, but it’s narrow enough to assure that the player is actually paying attention instead of just spamming Arts as soon as their cooldown ends.

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Save Your Game

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering how to save in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, this guide will talk you through everything you need to know.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the latest entry in the series, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. With a whole host of new activities, villagers, and features to dive into on this island getaway, you can bet your bottom bell that we’re going to be spending plenty of time toiling away on our town.

Of course, as much as we’d like to, we can’t live within our Animal Crossing town forever. Here’s how to save in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Saving Your Game in Animal Crossing New Horizons

To save your game, press the ‘-‘ button on your Nintendo Switch’s right Joy-Con. Doing so will result in the game asking you whether you want to ‘Save and Continue’ or ‘Save and End.’

If you want to take a break from the game entirely, you’ll want to choose the ‘Save and End’ option as it’ll boot you out of your town once the saving process is complete.

But if you’re simply wanting to make sure all that time you’ve just spent patiently arranging flowers doesn’t go to waste if your Switch battery ran out, you can choose the ‘Save and Continue’ option to carry on playing.

Is There Auto-Save?

It turns out that yes, Animal Crossing: New Horizons does have an auto-save system.

This kicks in fairly regularly, and will cause a small blue ring to appear in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

However, be warned that you shouldn’t turn off your Switch while the blue ring is visible on the screen. If you do, you could corrupt your save file, or at the very least, the auto-save won’t have completed.

Where Is the Lost and Found In Stardew Valley? Answered

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering where the Lost and Found is located in Stardew Valley? Here’s what you need to know.

Stardew Valley, the sleepy simulation role-playing game by developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, has led to plenty of players enjoying an open-ended country lifestyle of their dreams since 2016. Even with over half a decade under its belt, new players still can go into the game with zero knowledge and eventually learn the ropes. Before long, they’ll need to use the Lost and Found box, which new players definitely won’t know how to find in the beginning hours.

Like the name says, the Lost and Found box is where players can retrieve left behind and missing items. Usually, players will use the Lost and Found box to pick up special orders, lost tools, hats from children, and other event items. It’s an essential tool in the game that keeps you covered through your day-to-day activities. The only catch is finding it. Here’s where to find the Lost and Found in Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley Lost and Found Box Location

You can find the Lost and Found box within Mayor Lewis’ house. After heading into town from the direction of your farm, head down the town square and pass The Stardrop Saloon. Once you reach the three benches nestled between bushes below the Saloon, Mayor Lewis’ wooden-fenced house will be off to the right. Inside his home rests the Lost and Found box with a question mark above it, sitting next to a pair of colored books in the top-left corner.

When Does One Piece Animation Get Good? Answered

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering when the One Piece animation really starts to get good? As with any anime that has been around a long time, this is a question that many are bound to have about Oda’s iconic series. If this is a really big deal for you, then don’t stress, as we’ve got everything you need to know about when things really start to kick off.

When Does One Piece Animation Get Good? Answered

While the answer may vary depending on who you ask, as diehards will likely tell you the animation has always been good, the majority of people tend to agree that things increase gradually as the series goes on. This makes complete sense, as animation improved year by year since One Piece debuted in 1999.

If you want an actual numbered episode to go by, Water 7 Arc, which starts at episode 229, is where you’ll start to notice a lot more quality in the animation for One Piece. Alternatively, a lot of other people will also say that One Piece reaches its prime animation around episode 600, as the quality reaches the peak animation standards that we have today, especially when it comes to some of the sakuga devoted to Luffy’s fights.

It is also important to note that when it comes to visual quality, episode 44 is a common benchmark that many note where the visual quality isn’t an actual deterrent.

That is everything you need to know about when the One Piece animation really starts to get good. For more on the series, check out our in-depth article discussing when the plot starts to get good.
