Our Favorite and Best Genshin Impact Events

There have been a lot of events in Genshin Impact now that it's over two years old, so we figured it's a good time to discuss the ones we liked best. Especially now that we've already seen the 2023 Lantern Rite and Windblume Festival appear in the game.

I'm going to have to say the Genshin Impact Unreconciled Stars event is the best one in some ways. This is primarily because of how much additional context we ended up getting about the world. It introduced Scaramouche, showing us a character who'd be relevant to the story in many different ways. We also got hints about the nature of Teyvat. Not to mention it's great to see Mona get more screen-time, as you'd think an astrologer would help provide interesting insights into the nature of the world.

However, I am also a very big fan of both Golden Apple Archipelago events. The 1.6 and 2.8 ones both offered a lot to do, good rewards, and a great space to explore. -- Jenni

Read on to learn how to unlock each skin and collectible!

Shop Exclusives - Saitama Doomfist, Genos Genji, Terrible Tornado Kiriko

The three headliner skins in this collaboration are shop exclusives, meaning that players have to pay for them using Overwatch 2's premium currency. Each skin can be purchased as part of a skin and items set, or as part of the all-in bundle. If you're interested in getting all the skins then the all-in-bundle is technically the most valuable, but if you only care about one or two of them then you're better off getting them separately.

What Does Beating Jeanne’s Tale in Bayonetta Origins Unlock

What Does Beating Jeanne's Tale in Bayonetta Origins Jeanne Unlock

After beating Bayonetta Origins for the first time, Jeanne’s Tale unlocks. However, there’s still more to earn. Finishing this side story means another bonus. In addition to another possible side of a story, you get some new looks for the main game.

Beating Jeanne’s Tale in Bayonetta Origins/em> doesn’t take too long. Compared to the main game, it’s more of an overview and taste. Someone could easily get through it in about an hour.

Once done, people earn three Bayonetta Origins costumes. Two are for Cereza, while one is for Cheshire. The Cheshire one is “Charles.” It can only be used with the “Jeanne” outfit, which becomes available for Cereza after completing the side story. People also earn a Bayonetta 3-inspired Arch-Eve Origin costume for Cereza. All three can be used in the main game by heading to a save lantern and selecting one from the Costumes menu.

As a reminder, if you haven't unlocked this element of the game yet, you do need to complete Bayonetta Origins first. Once you have, you can find this side story in the main menu. It'll be in the "Extras" section.

How to Add Sockets to Gear in Diablo IV

5 days 19 hours ago

Add Sockets Diablo IV

Diablo IV will let players add sockets to gear in a way that is no longer randomized. Unlike Diablo III, where you would need to re-roll passives on items to potentially obtain sockets, players can instead just speak to a Jeweler to add to their gear. It will only cost a bit of gold and a Scattered Prism. This system is arguably much easier than how it appeared in Diablo III and will allow for players to create early game builds a bit easier.

However, keep in mind that Scattered Prisms are fairly rare drops and are mostly only dropped by World Bosses. They can be obtained through other methods, but this is arguably one of the most reliable ways. Additionally, players can only interact with Jewelers once they have reached level 20. But once you have reached level 20 you can then proceed to add sockets to your gear in Diablo IV. The first Jeweler is found in Kyovashad, and is found beside the Rings and Amulet merchant.

You can find the location of the Jeweler in Kyovashad below.

How to Extract Aspects in Diablo IV

5 days 20 hours ago

Diablo IV Extract Aspect

Extracting Aspects is an extremely valuable feature in Diablo IV. This allows for players to effectively obtain passive effects from Legendary items, to then reapply them to an item of their choice. In order to Extract Aspects in Diablo IV, players will need to speak to an Occultist and have a Legendary item that they would like to break down. The first Occultist can be found in Kyovashad, which is the first city you will access once you have beaten the Prologue.

What makes this feature so valuable is the ability to apply any Extracted Aspect to any item of their choice, as mentioned above. This means that the item does not need to be a Legendary in order for you to apply said aspect. In fact, applying an Aspect to a Legendary item will overwrite the one currently applied to it. So it is best to save your Legendary items for their Aspects to be extracted and then applied to other pieces of equipment.Diablo IV Extract Aspect

You can apply these aspects to Rare items to then make them Legendary items, for example. So don't be afraid to Extract Aspects through your local Occultist, as this gives players a more accessible way to create builds of their choosing. However, making a Rare item a Legendary item will not increase it's power. So ideally, finding a Rare item with a significantly higher power than your Legendary item, and then applying said Aspect is the best way to go.

How to Change FPS in Diablo IV

5 days 20 hours ago

Change FPS Diablo IV

Like most modern games, Diablo IV will allow you change the framerate (FPS) the game runs at through it's settings menu. This includes both foreground and background FPS. So if you are noticing that when you tab out of the game, it runs at a significantly lower framerate, this guide will break down how to change both FPS settings in Diablo IV.

Access your options menu and go to the "Graphics" section. Under the "Performance" tab, you will find both the "Max Foreground" and "Max Background" FPS options. Here you can manually adjust what FPS the game is running out when you are tabbed in or tabbed out of the game. This is especially good for streamers to mess with if they will be playing the game in Windowed Mode.

Additionally, if Diablo IV is taxing your PC (especially while fighting World Bosses), you can manually assign a framerate ideal for your rig through this option. However, you cannot input a number and instead will need to play around with the sliders to set your preferred frame rate.

Change FPS Diablo IV

If you want audio to play in the background while you are tabbed out of the game head to the "Sounds" tab and under "Game Sound Output" check the "Play in Background" option. This will allow for audio from the game to play even if it is isn't the main window you currently have open.

How to Change Your Appearance in Diablo IV

5 days 23 hours ago

How to Change Appearance Diablo IV

Diablo IV features a little more involved character creator than its predecessors. While players can pick from a couple of different face sculpts and hair styles, there is a way to change your appearance in Diablo IV. That said, it only affects it less permanent choices, such as makeup, jewelry, and markings. These can be changed after you complete the Prologue of the game and make your way to Kyovashad.

You can change your appearance in Diablo IV by going to the Wardrobe icon on your map. From there, you can select the "Appearance" tab to adjust whatever you like. Again, you cannot change your face, hair, or skin color, which makes it a little limited. Thankfully, these minor adjustments can be made without costing any gold.

You can see where you can access the Wardrobe in Kyovashad, and what the "Appearance" menu looks like below.

[gallery columns="2" ids="956283,956279" link="file"]

However, the Wardrobe also serves a secondary purpose. Players can also create an "Ensemble." These function similarly to Glamour Plates in Final Fantasy XIV. For those unfamiliar with that system, you can effectively create a set look that won't change even if you equip different gear. This means that you don't need to head back to any specific NPC to transmogrify the appearance of your new items whenever you equip something new. You can also choose the color of specific pieces of your attire and apply them to your gear entirely for free. However, opening up new "Ensemble" slots will cost gold.

How to Obtain Whispering Keys in Diablo IV

5 days 23 hours ago

Diablo IV Whispering Keys Silent Chests

Whispering Keys are a unique item in Diablo IV that can be used to unlock Silent Chests found on the world map. The game does not outright tell you how to obtain them, but getting your hands on one of these highly valuable keys is a lot easier than you might imagine. In order to obtain Whispering Keys in Diablo IV, so you can unlock Silent Chests to obtain rare items and loot, you need to speak to the Purveyor of Curiosities Lizveth in Kyovashad.

You can see where Lizveth is located in Kyovashad below.

Diablo IV Whispering Keys Silent Chests

Lizveth will sell you Whispering Keys for 20 Obols. Obols can be obtained by doing World Events on the map. These events populate the map at random or can be triggered by talking to various NPCs you find as you roam Sanctuary. An easy way to spot if a World Event is happening nearby is to look at your mini map at the upper right-hand side of your screen. If you see a very faint ring of red, that means a World Event is nearby.

The better you do at a World Event, the more Obols you will obtain. Doing World Events with a group, or at least one other person, will almost guarantee completion of the event even on Veteran Difficulty. That said, if you fine-tune your build enough and have the right gear, then you will be more than capable of tackling these events on your own.

Pokemon TCG: The Best Scarlet & Violet Cards

pokemon trading card game best scarlet violet cards

We’ve taken a look at the set as a whole, but let’s get straight to the point: what are the best cards in the new Pokemon Trading Card Game Scarlet & Violet set? As always, it depends on your criteria. Here are our nominees!

The most meta-relevant Scarlet & Violet Cards

If we have to pick one card we think will make competitive deck lists, it’s Revavroom. Card draw is a big part of utilizing spare bench spots, and Rumbling Engine gets you a full hand of six cards each turn just for discarding an energy. And that energy card? Yeah, it’s a cost, but so many decks actually need some in the discard pile to pull them back with abilities.

The other big use of bench Pokemon is energy acceleration. Quaquaval’s Energy Carnival ability just straight doubles the number you can play, without restriction on target. Gardevoir ex is a lot more specific — it’s for Psychic decks — but it can pull unlimited energy from the discard pile at the cost of a bit of damage each time. Most of the time, it’s probably worth it! And it might work with that Revavroom or lots of healing, if you want to push things further.

Boss’s Orders is a mainstay in the format, as a well-timed swap often wins you the game. Given that, a version that’s a bit weaker but works every turn? That could be useful! Mabosstiff lets the opponent pick who comes in, but they don’t always have a great bench alternative.

How to Upgrade Healing Potions in Diablo IV

While Diablo IV does have some set limitations on how many Healing Potions players can use, you will also be able to upgrade them through the course of the game. This can be done using crafting materials you find while exploring Sanctuary and by leveling up. Once you have access to Kyovashad and are level 10, you can immediately upgrade your potions so long as you have the right materials.

Thankfully, all you need are Biteberries, Gallowvine, and other herbs you can obtain through opening chests you are given by completing Side Quests. You will have more than enough materials come level 10 for that first upgrade, which will provide a decent boost to your overall healing. That said, you cannot upgrade your healing potions to max immediately. Instead, you will be gated by levels. So while you may have the right materials, until you reach the required level you cannot upgrade your Healing Potions in Diablo IV without that prerequisite being met.

You can see the level requirements to upgrade your Healing Potions below.

How to Get More Diablo IV Healing Potions

6 days 1 hour ago

Unlike the first Diablo and Diablo II, players will be given a finite amount of Healing Potions in Diablo IV. That said, players will be able to increase the amount of Healing Potions they can carry at any time. This is done by increasing your Renown in any given region. For example, upon reaching a certain amount of Renown in the Fractured Peaks, players can claim rewards through the Renown tab to increase the amount of Healing Potions they can carry in Diablo IV.

Increasing Renown is done through an array of activities. This can be through activating Waypoints, which is Diablo's version of fast travel, discovering areas (or just exploring the map), finding Altars of Lilith, completing Side Dungeons, finishing Side Quests, and taking on Strongholds. Thankfully, before you throw yourself at Strongholds, you can easily up your Renown by simply walking around and exploring. But if you want to bolster the amount of Renown you get quickly, it is also advised that you pick up any Side Quests you see in any of the towns and cities you will come across.

How to Change Game Difficulty in Diablo IV

6 days 1 hour ago

Unlike Diablo III, players cannot change the game difficulty in Diablo IV by going into the session's menu. Instead, there is a new way that players can increase or decrease the difficulty of their game. Once you make it past the Prologue chapter, you will find yourself in Kyovashad. From there, you can walk directly north and make your way to a statue of Inarius. It is labeled as the World Tier Statue. Click on that statue to bring up the various tiers of difficulty options available in Diablo IV.

This statue can change the game difficulty of Diablo IV without you needing to create an entirely new session. However, harder difficulties do have certain conditions that need to be met in order to access them. This includes completing certain Dungeons tied to Story Quests on a specific difficulty. Increasing your difficulty will make the game harder by default, but will give players better rewards. This includes higher rarity gear drops, increased experience and difficulty, and other valuable items dropping.

Here’s How Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle’s Super Saiyan God Goku Was Made

To celebrate Saiyan Day (March 18th), Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is getting characters like UR [Fighter Entrusted with Allies' Wishes] Super Saiyan God Goku and UR [Greatest Instant Combat Power Born of Love] Super Saiyan Vegeta. There are also a number of special events. However, Bandai Namco also used the series’ official website to show how the Dragon Ball Z Battle Of Gods movie character was brought to life in-game.

A number of images appeared comparing the game version of the character to his Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Gods counterpart. Snippets from the film were chosen to show his transformation while surrounded by allies. However, an additional image of him with his eyes closed was included. The Dragon Smash Super Attack game and movie friends match during battle. The developers also adjusted the movie’s Saiyan Who Absorbed the Power of God animations from the movie so a version of it could be recreated in-game as an Active Super Attack.

Here are all the side-by-side images shared by the developer showing how scenes from the movie were directly recreated or adjusted for the game.

Preview: The Exoprimal Beta Is a Dinosaur Slaughterhouse

6 days 6 hours ago

Exoprimal Beta

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Capcom's new sci-fi multiplayer title Exoprimal is a reference of sorts to its Dino Crisis survival horror series. After all, "shooting-based action games involving dinosaurs as a primary threat" is a surprisingly underpopulated genre. After a couple of days of early access to Exoprimal open beta though, I found myself thinking of it as its own thing, a unique experience predicated on mowing down tons of extinct reptiles.

Exoprimal begins with a sci-fi premise. You are an Exosuit Fighter, recruited to become a soldier for the Aibius megacorporation. Exosuits are at the front line of fighting an outbreak of dinosaurs that push through mysterious rifts in spacetime. Aibius is using a "next-generation AI" called Leviathan to design and improve its stable of Exosuit designs. Its idea for gathering needed data? Force people into an infinitely looping series of wargames in some kind of simulated environment.

There's not much story in the Exoprimal open beta, and all you're given is a brief intro cutscene and some background details during character creation process. That said, the full game will include characters and cutscenes that provide context. Not that turning huge guns and weapons on writhing swarms of vicious reptiles needs that much justification.

Once you beat Bayonetta Origins for the first time, you unlock the ability to change the costumes for both Cereza and Cheshire. There are a lot of spoilers associated with them, though!

So, here’s a spoiler-free list of how to get every one of them. I’ll refer to them by number, rather than name, so as to avoid identities. Note that if you accomplish these goals before beating the game, then when you return to a cleared save file the costumes will already appear in the list.

Hino said that the development team for Decapolice has been working on the game for about three years. The concept behind the game was to create an RPG with a mystery plot as engaging as those in Professor Layton. The game was originally going to be marketed as “the next game from the creators of Professor Layton,” and as a spiritual successor. But since the announcement of Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, the developers at Level-5 decided that they could no longer do that.

Deltarune Ralsei Nendoroid Comes with Cake

The first Deltarune Nendoroid is on the way, as a figure of Ralsei from the Toby Fox game will appear in 2023. It will show up in Japan first in October 2023. It will cost ¥8,900 there. The North American release is set for December 2023. The price in the US storefront will be $62.99. Among his accessories will be one of the cakes he "baked."

This version of Ralsei only shows his dark side. There’s no option to swap heads and hands for his other appearance. He’ll come with three face plates. One features a neutral expression, he’s smiling widely in the second, and he is blushing in the third. There also seem to be two different pairs of glasses to help convey various expressions. His hat is removable. As for accessories, he can be posed holding a cake or a sparkle.

Here's a closer look at the figure.

Neon from Stranger of Paradise joins Dissidia FFOO

Neon from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia following the most recent update. Players will be able to recruit Jack Garland's ally in the Act 3 Interlude "In a Godless World." Her arrival in the global version comes almost a year after her debut in the Japanese version.

You can check out the announcement, along with a preview of Neon from Stranger of Paradise in Dissidia FFOO, below:
https://twitter.com/DissidiaFFOO/status/1636547902846713858?s=20

As you can see in the trailer, Neon is a sword user and her moves focus on dealing fire damage. Markedly, her abilities cause "Fires of Rage." Upon reaching six stacks, it can inflict Maximum BRV Damage. An alternate outfit, the red jacket, was also unveiled, based on her appearance when choosing the red mage job. (Costumes are paid items in the game.)

For Neon's FR weapon's ability, she summons Celes from Final Fantasy VI to conjure a giant flaming sword and attack all enemies. Her other abilities, such as Asura and Firebringer, also allude to her fiend and Chaos Advent forms seen in Stranger of Paradise.

See Ash’s Japanese Voice Actress Sing ‘Mezase Pokemon Master’

mezase pokemon master anime song

Rica Matsumoto, the voice actress for Satoshi (Ash) in the Pokemon anime, appeared on The First Take to sing “Mezase Pokemon Master,” which was the show’s very first opening theme song. Aside from voicing the main character, Matsumoto also frequently sang openings for the Japanese version of Pokemon. As of the time of writing, the video on The First Take has garnered over 575,000 views.

You can watch the “Mezase Pokemon Master” video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMKf5mE3sdo

Though she does not appear, there are some cameo voice lines from people like Ikue Otani (Pikachu). This is part of the original opening, which featured Pikachu and Professor Oak interjecting at certain points of the Pokemon anime's theme song. It’s unclear if the “with my friends” part of the opening refers to them, the back-up singers, or the collection of Pokemon plushes behind Matsumoto during the performance.

Song of Memories Switch Visual Novel Arriving After All

The once-canceled Song of Memories Switch visual novel is going to appear on the platform. Pre-orders opened on the eShop for the game, which is set to launch on March 23, 2023. While PQube was going to handle its release back when it was supposed to debut in 2018, Future Tech Lab is behind it now. It will be $28.99, though there is a 10% pre-order discount in effect knocking the price down to $26.09 until launch day.

Song of Memories is a romantic visual novel about six girls who are capable of performing music to help fight back against a virus. It is known for having 30 songs performed by the heroines. The Switch version of Song of Memories was canceled in January 2019. At the time, PQube noted it couldn’t “be brought to a functioning level of quality.”

This makes the third platform the visual novel with rhythm game and light RPG elements is available on. It first showed up on the PC. A PlayStation 4 port followed. At the moment, the version on Steam is temporarily 70% off until March 23, 2023. It's $11.99 until then.

Next Honkai Impact 3rd Battlesuit Is Susannah Valkyrie Quicksand

When the 6.5 update arrives, Susannah Manatt will get a Honkai Impact 3rd Valkyrie Quicksand battlesuit, and here's how it looks.

The 6.5 Honkai Impact 3rd is on the way, and with it will come the Susannah Manatt Valkyrie Quicksand battlesuit. She will be a new SP-rank character people can get. She will be a Qua-type character with a “dancing diva” inspiration. She’ll also be the latest chakram unit to join the cast. HoYoVerse shared a preview video with members of the team discussing her design.

Susannah showed up in the Honkai Impact 3rd comic. She’s a Schicksal Phosdjinns Squad Valkyrie alongside Matilla and Zofia. She also comes from an affluent family who is involved with gems and precious stones, which people can see on her battlesuit and chakram.

During the presentation video, the character designer noted that she performs folk dance moves. These come up during attacks and apparently win animations. Her chakram can also be turned into a tambourine. Not to mention during her Ultimate, it will trigger a rhythm game where players will play a drum as she dances. Also, while she wields chakrams, her moveset is based on Chinese two-handed swords. Attacks are designed to deal bleed damage as well.

Here’s the full Honkai Impact 3rd “Susannah Valkyrie Quicksand Battlesuit Preview” presentation.

Genshin Impact 3.5 Events Will Include Fungus Mechanicus

Fungus Mechanicus genshin impact 3.5

HoYoVerse revealed some information on the events that will be part of the second half of Genshin Impact Version 3.5. Just like how the banners are re-runs, the events are re-runs as well. There will be Fungus Mechanicus, Spices From the West: Northerly Search, and the usual Ley Line Overflow again in Genshin Impact.

Fungus Mechanicus will run from March 23, 2023 to April 3, 2023 in Genshin Impact. This is actually not the same version of Fabulous Fungus Frenzy from Version 3.2. While you will still be directing an army of fungi, it focuses more on destroying mechanicus rather than other fungi. The Traveler will also not be on the field, with a more aerial view of the field.

The Spices From the West: Northerly Search event will run from March 31, 2023 to April 10, 2023. This is an event where you can cook food with special seasonings for rewards such as Primogems. You can also give them to your characters in the Serenitea Pot. Characters will say special lines depending on how much they like the food.

Finally, Ley Line Overflow will run from April 3-10, 2023. Ley Line Overflow events generally appear before a new character. You will be able to use Original Resin to get double the rewards up to three times a day.
