Mayla to Release Evangelion Heel Sneakers

Mayla is releasing a new line of Evangelion Heel Sneakers, which is also a brand new product for the company. Pre-orders in Japan open on February 16, 2024 on Mayla's website.

By combining heel and sneaker elements, Mayla stated it created a shoe that is both stylish and comfortable. The Evangelion Heel Sneakers feature the same thickness and softness found in sneakers, and a thick sole and heel that stabilizes the shoe. The shoes will feature ribbon shoe strings, gold metal accents on the shoe tongue, sides, and underside of the shoe, and different colors based on Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu. No price has been revealed for the shoes as of yet.

Ahead of the release of the Evangelion Heel Sneakers, Mayla has also restocked a limited amount of their Evangelion earrings and classic pumps that the company released back in 2023. The earrings and classic pumps are based on Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Kaworu, and Mari's plug suits. The classic pumps feature large ribbons for an accent detail on the backside and thin straps across the top to fasten the shoes closed. The Evangelion earrings cost ¥23,958 (~$160 USD) and the classic pumps cost ¥30,690 (~$205 USD).

Mayla has done many different collaborations with various brands in the past including Attack on Titan, Lycoris Recoil, Twisted Wonderland, and beyond. In May 2023, the apparel company released a line of heels based on Sailor Moon Cosmos. Mayla also released pumps based on Anya from Spy x Family in November 2023. Currently, Mayla is collaborating with Hatsune Miku to release a pair of pumps based on her iconic design.

Pre-orders for the Evangelion Heel Sneakers will open on February 16, 2024.
