Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise Is Out Now on PC via Steam

1 year 11 months ago

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, which launched as a Switch exclusive in 2020, is now out on PC via Steam.

Announced during the Future Games Show, Deadly Premonition is a sequel to the 2010 cult-classic survival horror original and this new entry follows FBI Agent Aaliyah Davis as she investigates a string of murders.

The game serves as a prequel and a sequel to the original, and the prequel part will see players taking on the role of a younger Special Agent York from the first game as they investigate another crime in the fictional town of Le Carre, Louisana.

In our Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise review, we said that it "isn’t good, nor is it so bad that it’s good (like it’s predecessor). It’s something much, much worse: it’s mediocre. And that’s too bad."

The arrival of Deadly Premonition 2 on PC is just one of many announcements that have been part of the many events that are included in IGN's Summer of Gaming.

The Last of Us Part 2 Has Sold Over 10 Million Copies

1 year 11 months ago

Naughty Dog has confirmed that, as of Spring 2022, The Last of Us Part 2 has sold over 10 million copies.

The milestone was shared in the "The Growing Future of The Last of Us" article on PlayStation.Blog, the same one that gave further details on The Last of Us Part 1 remake, the standalone multiplayer game set in its universe, and HBO's The Last of Us series.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released on June 19, 2020, and quickly became the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive at the time by selling over four million copies in its first three days.

Since then, The Last of Us Part 2 has received a PS5 exclusive performance update that pushed the already-impressive game to 60 frames per second.

On September 2, fans will get to experience the original The Last of Us in a way that much more resembles the sequel thanks to the upcoming remake that promises new enemy AI based on The Last of Us Part 2, 60FPS performance, and new combat options.

Street Fighter 6 to Reportedly Have Cross-Play, Rollback Netcode Confirmed to Return

1 year 11 months ago

While Street Fighter 6 may not arrive until 2023, we are beginning to learn a lot about the game, including that rollback netcode will return and that it will reportedly have cross-play.

Speaking to IGN's Mitchell Saltzman, Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama confirmed that rollback netcode will indeed be part of the upcoming fighter, but it will not be the same as what was seen in Street Fighter 5.

"As you know, Street Fighter 5 also had rollback netcode," Nakayama said. "But in terms of SF6, it will have Rollback netcode, but it will not be the same as what we had in SF5, and this is something that we're building from scratch.

"There's a lot of effort being put into the development of the netcode. And it's not something that only the netcode engineers are involved in. We're involving the battle team to participate in that development to ensure that the experience is seamless and that it actually feels good. We're working very hard towards it right now. "

As for crossplay, popular streamer and YouTuber Maximilian Dood spoke to the devs behind Street Fighter 6 and he wrote on Twitter that the game will have cross-play.

IGN spoke to Street Fighter 6 producer Shuhei Matsumoto about cross-play and, while he didn't confirm nor deny the feature, he did say it is something the team does "want to aim for."

The Wholesome Games Direct just concluded, after showing off over 90 (!) games focused on cozy, welcoming, and generally, well, wholesome aesthetics. We got a handful of new game reveals, several announcements of release dates or windows, some free demos, and a whole heck-ton of new trailers. Everything was pretty rapidfire, but here's the basic rundown of what we just saw:

New Game Reveals

Three brand new games were revealed for the first time at the Wholesome Direct:

Little Bear Chef

Little Bear Chef is a game about a very, very small bear working in a very large kitchen, trying to start a successful restaurant. In the first trailer, we get a look at the bear (really a sentient, bear-shaped honey container) trying to cook in a human sized kitchen. The game is being developed by BananaBox, and is coming to PC and consoles in 2023.

Melodyssey

Developed by Nel Pastel, Melodyssey follows the story of a child journeying through a musical landscape, looking for inspiration. Its gameplay uses block moving puzzles to progress, and is set to relaxing, ASMR music and sounds. It’s intended as a stress-free, exploration adventure game, and is headed to PC next year. A free demo is out now on Steam.

One Piece: Who’s Who in the Netflix Show

1 year 11 months ago

The world of One Piece is coming to Netflix as a live-action adaptation of the much-beloved manga. We recently got our first look at some of the extended cast of the series, along with concept art and sets from the show. From Monkey D. Luffy to Red Hair to Alvida and beyond, the cast of the show looks to be massive.

So whether you’re an established fan or discovering One Piece for the first time, here’s everything you need to know about the cast and characters of the Netflix show.

Netflix’s One Piece Cast

Inaki Godoy stars as Monkey D. Luffy, showing a great range of enthusiasm and energy in the behind-the-scenes footage Netflix has released. For those new to the series, Luffy’s journey begins after being accidentally turned into a rubber man by eating a magical Devil Fruit, granting him the power to stretch his body but cursing him with the inability to swim (a situation we’ve all found ourselves in, I’m sure). He’s a powerful fighter with an insatiable appetite for meat and a dream of one day becoming King of the Pirates.

Luffy’s friend and mentor, Red-Haired Shanks, is played by Peter Gadiot of Showtime’s Yellowjackets. We were treated to a brief glimpse of his ship the Red Force during the behind-the-scenes footage. Shanks is a legendary pirate captain, but known as simply Red Hair to his friends.

Street Fighter 6 Reveals Chun-Li's Theme - 'Not A Little Girl'

1 year 11 months ago

Today, Capcom's Twitter released the new theme for Chun-Li that will be featured in the upcoming fighting game Street Fighter 6.

The theme, titled “Not A Little Girl,” “reflects her new philosophical approach to life” and is new for the iconic character and is a bit more upbeat and dancey than her past themes.

The theme reveal video doesn’t give us a glimpse at any new gameplay, but the track does give us a taste of the vibe we will be seeing and hearing in the new game. The Street Fighter Twitter account has been generous to fans of the series, though, with glimpses at features like character-specific taunts and in-game emotes.

How to Pair PS5 Controller to PC

1 year 11 months ago

Beyond simply being one of the best gaming controllers, the Sony DualSense is also one of the best PC controllers. It has the ergonomics and grip to let you go ham for hours on end, and it’s crammed with some of the most meaningful innovations in gamepads since the contentious Steam Controller. But, getting the DualSense working on a gaming PC may seem like a fool’s errand — it’s made for the PlayStation 5 after all, right? Fortunately, PC support for the DualSense is a lot more robust than it was for the DualShock 4 controller just a generation prior. It can be as simple as plug-and-play or just a quick Bluetooth pairing to get started.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 Arrives on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch in Summer 2022

1 year 11 months ago

The 2004 hit RPG Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is getting an updated re-release this summer. The game, from Publisher Interplay Entertainment and developer Black Isle Studios, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

The game will not be a remake, but it will feature enhanced graphics and up to 4K resolution on supported platforms. If you want to play with friends, you’ll be able to play co-op locally across all versions.

On the Steam version, you’ll also be able to use Remote Play for a long-distance cooperative experience. And yes, it’s fully verified on the Steam Deck for an on-the-go, handheld RPG experience.

The original game was released in 2004 on PS2 and Xbox, three years after the first. In our review we gave it an 8.4 out of 10. We said “this game is easy to pick up, easy to play, and a great excuse for wading through legions of monsters by yourself or with a friend.”

This updated version, like the original, will include five playable characters and classes to play across 80 levels. Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II also features a fully voice acted cast and four difficulty levels.

Thirsty Suitors Preview: A Refreshing Take on Messy Romance

1 year 11 months ago

By taking inspiration from its developers' lived experiences, Thirsty Suitors is one of the more unique games I’ve come across. Promising a story-driven adventure, this is less about dating and more about reconciling your messy love life, balancing family expectations, and performing cool skateboarding tricks. It’s a rare game that meaningfully explores South Asian culture and there’s an intriguing premise within. Showcasing the opening 30 mins, Outerloop Games provided a new look with a hands-off demo, while a Q&A session with the creative director, Chandana Ekanayake, filled in the blanks.

Yes, you can pet dogs too, even see them perform sick skateboarding flips.

Coming back to her hometown after three years following a breakup, this story focuses on Jala, our seemingly bisexual Indian protagonist. Starting with an online dating quiz called “Thirstsona,” that takes us into a surreal daydream narrated by your own psyche. Skateboarding from question to question, this demo didn’t show much beyond grinding and jumping between platforms, but considering this is the opening segment, there’s a good chance it’ll open up later on. Either way, Jala certainly looked stylish, helped by a vibrant art style and high-energy soundtrack.

This new game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's work was revealed during the Epic Games Summer Showcase and comes from independent developer Free Range Games and publisher North Beach Games.

"The story of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria takes players beyond the books and into the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, the fantastical world created by J.R.R. Tolkien," the official description reads. "Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria—known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf—in the depths below their very feet.

The game will be procedurally generated, meaning every adventure players embark on either by themselves or with friends will be new and unknown. What’s Your Favorite Thing About Being a Sonic Fan?

1 year 11 months ago

Many of us at IGN have a fond appreciation for Sonic, even with some arguable missteps over the years, which is why it's so exciting to get some more insight into its next chapter with Sonic Frontiers. The Sonic Central Stream part of Summer of Gaming gave us another glimpse into the upcoming Sonic Frontiers alongside an announcement of a prologue story featuring Knuckles. We also got another look at Sonic Origins, new Sonic merchandise, news that a live Sonic Symphony will be touring soon, and more. Be sure to check out our Sonic Central 2022 coverage for everything that was announced. There will be more Sonic content as the month progresses but in the meantime -- my question for the IGN community is: what is your favorite thing about being a Sonic fan?

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Is on Sale on PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch

1 year 11 months ago

Amazon currently has all physical versions of the base LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on sale for 25% off its regular price. Previously, only the PS4 and Switch were discounted, but now you can save on LEGO Star Wars for Xbox Series X and PS5, too.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Deal

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a massive game, stretching across the entirety of the so-called "Skywalker Saga," a name Disney invented 8 movies into it to help them stand as their own, I guess? I don't really know why, but regardless, you get all 9 movies recreated in LEGO form, and in many cases, the results far exceed the quality of the movies upon which they're based.

In our LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga review, we gave it an 8, saying "provides some rollicking reimaginings of Star Wars’ most iconic moments and seats them inside a series of interplanetary playgrounds that are dense with discovery and entertaining diversions."

It's just a fun game, is all. One of the greats in an already great line of LEGO games. Has there ever been a "bad" LEGO game? Please don't answer that. I can't think of one off the top of my head and don't want to be disappointed. Not today. Not on a Friday afternoon.

Reigns: Three Kingdoms Is One of Three Devolver Games Joining the Netflix Line-Up

1 year 11 months ago

Reigns: Three Kingdoms is the fifth entry in Nerial & Devolver's Tinder-inspired royalty management games – and it's one of three Devolver games coming free for Netflix subscribers.

Announced during Netflix Geeked Week, Reigns: Three Kingdoms will bring the card-based binary choices of the series into a medieval Chinese setting, setting its latest adventures in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms period (familiar to Dynasty Warriors players, among many other games).

"Reigns: Three Kingdoms thrusts players into the turbulent final years of the Han dynasty," reads a press release. "There, they will encounter the many factions, wars, and heroes of the saga as they swipe their way through negotiations, marry to strengthen alliances, and convert to gain more power. Discover new ways to enjoy Reigns’ unique swiping mechanic as you uncover the many secrets of a vast storyline and a host of unexpected mini-games."

Devolver also announced that it will bring climate-crisis strategy game Terra Nil, and Poinpy – a new game from Downwell creator Moppin – to Netflix as well. Where Downwell had you guiding a pixel-art hero down dangerous vertical levels, Poinpy takes an oppposite (and much cuter) approach – you guide the bird-like Poinpy up levels, collecting food for a giant blue monster chasing you. Poinpy is out now for subscribers.

The Walking Dead: Last Mile Coming in July - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

Ambitious interactive experience The Walking Dead: Last Mile will begin on July 11.

The Walking Dead: Last Mile is a near-unique new storytelling experiment, in which the people and events of an Alaskan community in the Walking Dead universe will be broadcast 24/7 in a series of livestreams. It will air exclusively (and for free) on Facebook Gaming and Facebook Watch, and viewers will get to become decision makers along the way.

In a new trailer during IGN Expo, we saw a situation in which a scavenger dispatches a frozen walker, then gets ambushed by another human. In the ensuing fight, the ambusher is shot, but the scavenger opts to take them back to their community for treatment. It's a taste of the kinds of moral dilemmas Last Mile seemingly hopes to offer.

Viewers of Last Mile will become players through a couple of means. During the live event, mini-games will be available, and succcess in those games earns viewers Influence Points. Those points can then be spent on decisions that can affect the coiurse of the narrative, both small and large.

We're not sure on exactly how long the event will last, but it's looking to be a fascinating new type of game storytelling. This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course - First Impressions

1 year 11 months ago

Cuphead has just about transcended games at this point. Since debuting in 2017, mischievous protagonists Cuphead and Mugman have been the subject of novels, comic books, tabletop games, and even an (excellent) animated show on Netflix. It’s frankly remarkable that we’re even talking about it as a humble video game in 2022, but Studio MDHR plans to make good on the promise of new content for the full service meal that was in the smash hit boss rush shooter. A Delicious Last Course, if you will.

We got to ride shotgun on a hands-off guided tour of some of the new features, and it's easy to report that Cuphead fans will have plenty to fall in love with here. Returning players will find new abilities, new bosses, and a whole new adventure all from the perspective of a brand new character that MDHR promises will bring a new layer of depth and difficulty to the already dense and challenging main game that is surely to be your new cup of tea.

Cuphead and Mugman, a duo who’ve never met a trap they wouldn’t willingingly walk into, are told that the legendary Chalice needs their help and has arranged travel for them to meet up. Learning nothing from their duels with King Dice and The Devil Himself, Mugman is easily lured into eating a magical cookie that sends him into the astral plane, and gives Miss Chalice flesh and blood. Luckily the ruse was just a harmless test, and Chalice introduces her friend Saltbaker and their grand scheme – to collect rare ingredients and make the ultimate magical dish that will bring Chalice back to life permanently.

Superpowered Action-RPG Superfuse Is Coming to Early Access This Fall - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

Superfuse – a superhero dungeon crawler with hyper-customizable powers – will hit Steam Early Access this fall.

Announced in a new trailer at IGN Expo, we saw a hint of the story told through classic comic book panels, followed by some very gory gameplay. Players will create an Enforcer – superpowered humans given the job of eliminating corrupted beasts across the solar system – and take down enemies using a mixture of classic Diablo-style loot and deeply customizable powers split between 5 main classes.

The game offers both solo and up to 4-player co-op play across procedurally generated dungeons teeming with beasts – and a conspiracy-laden story to discover as you go. We previously played an early version, saying "The plethora of combat options feature dozens of combinations of abilities, modifiers, and status effects that pile on submenus within submenus to create one of the most disgustingly customizable hero-builders I’ve ever seen. It’s a stat-consumed nerd’s dream, and if Stitch Heads can pull it off I could easily see it becoming my next obsession."

Starkeepers Is a New Sci-Fi MMO Starring Viking Animal-People - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

IGN Expo has brought the exclusive reveal of Starkeepers, a new MMORPG coming to Steam Early Access in 2023.

A cosmic sci-fi game at heart, Starkeepers' central race is a group of anthropomorphic Viking animal-people, including wolves and seals. These unusual heroes are the titular Starkeepers, god-chosen warriors sent to ward off eldritch cosmic threats.

A gameplay teaser showed off the game's low-poly looks, its mixture of action combat and town building, not to mention trap-filled dungeons. The developer promises a vast open world, filled with multiple factions, and the opportunity to fight both beasts and gods along the way.

PvP will revolve around cooperative base building, in which you create 'Starkeeps' filled with traps and turrets – and attempt to take down rivals' creations. Players will be able to form councils to declare war on rivals – or become part of the world's governments, managing clans and banding players together.

Developer Wolfpack Games are a multinational team based in Beijing, Sydney, and Rotterdam, built with a focus on MMOs in mind – and with experience on everything from the Lord of the Rings MMO to Warframe. The studio aims to fix issues in existing MMOs, and wants to create projects "free from unimaginative questing, free from mindless theatrics passing for 'combat', free from game economy in uncontrolled spirals, and definitely free from disruptive over-commercialization."

Block N Load 2 Gets a Re-Reveal, Closed Beta Coming Soon - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

Block N Load 2 got a re-reveal at today's IGN Expo, and we learned a Steam closed beta is on the way soon.

The destructive FPS, which mixes Team Fortress-like team-based battling with Minecraft voxels, is a return to the ideas of the 2015 original - albeit with better looks, more complex building mechanics and more varied combat. The sequel was first announced last year, but this is the first meaningful gameplay we've seen for some time.

The new version is coming to both PC and consoles, and offers multiple hero types, 40 different types of block, which react to your play and can change the shape of the match (literally), and a full create-a-map mode that allows sharing with other players. With a beta coming up, you can sign up to play early on Steam right now.

Retro Shooter Project Warlock 2 Is Now Available in Early Access on PC - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

Buckshot Software and Retrovibe has announced that '90s-style FPS Project Warlock 2 is available now on PC in Early Access via Steam and GOG.

Revealed at IGN Expo, a new trailer showed a rapid-pace glimpse of the content available during Project Warlock 2's Early Access version. This smaller slice of the full game contains six levels that Buckshot Software describes as being up to 10 times bigger than any level in the original Project Warlock. Each level is a multi-floor structure with platforms and buildings that add a new layer of verticality to the run-and-gun gameplay.

Project Warlock 2 is inspired by the likes of Quake and Doom 64, and features an arsenal of upgradable weapons including swords, guns, magic staffs, cannons, and a range of special skills. The Early Access version will begin with playable warlock Palmer, but he's just the first of three characters. In the coming months, chapters featuring warlocks Urd and Kirsten will be added.

Buckshot Software expects Project Warlock 2 to be in Early Access for about a year, with player feedback from this first chapter being used to refine the gameplay and help develop the remaining two chapters.

For more, check out the first 10 minutes of Project Warlock 2. If it looks like your kind of thing, there's currently a 10% discount on both Steam and GOG to celebrate the launch. No Place for Bravery Is a Pixel Art Soulslike Launching This September - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

IGN Expo is pleased to announce that No Place for Bravery, a 2D pixel art game with Sekiro-inspired combat, will launch this September.

A new trailer reveals that No Place for Bravery will be available on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) and Nintendo Switch from September 22.

The 2D soulslike features fast combat that places a strong emphasis on parries, much like FromSoftware's Sekiro. As Thorn, you'll explore a wretched, grim world where death lurks behind every corner. Your journey to investigate your daughter's disappearance will see you accompanied by your disabled foster son, Phid. The concept promises themes of compassion and parental responsibility amidst the encrounching darkness, so perhaps we'll see parallels to God of War as well as Sekiro and Dark Souls.

No Place for Bravery was shown as part of the Guerrilla Collective back in 2020, and here on IGN developer Pedro Machado also walked us through how the game works.

1 year 11 months ago

Core Keeper, the mining sandbox adventure game from Pugstorm and Fireshine, has revealed its first major update, The Sunken Sea – and has added dedicated server support today.

Shown off at IGN Expo, The Sunken Sea update has players navigating a brand new water-based biome, filled with aquatic threats and treasure-filled islands. The update adds boats for the first time, as well as new enemies, weapons, valuables, ores, base building items, and more.

An exclusive teaser trailer gives us a hint at what's to come, including a gigantic three-eyed turtle... thing, which fires whirlwinds. No date has been given for the update, other than that it's coming soon.

Today also sees the addition of dedicated server support for the up-to 8-player game. Players will now be able to host their own multiplayer worlds and have friends join at any time.

"Dedicated servers have been requested since the start of the game's launch into Steam Early Access," said Pugstorm CEO Sven Thole, "and we'd like to say a huge thank you to the members of our incredible community who have helped test this feature ahead of its official launch today."

IGN helped announce Core Keeper at last year's Expo. The procedural mining adventure has since garnered almost a million players, and looks set to grow further. This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

Ground Divers Is a Dig Dug Style Game.. With RPG Systems Built In - IGN Expo 2022

1 year 11 months ago

IGN Expo saw the reveal of Ground Divers, a brand new game in the style of classic arcade game Dig Dug – but filled to the brim with systems more familiar from an RPG. It arrives for Nintendo Switch on June 30.

Described as a "slapstick discovery game", Ground Divers sees you guide the rabbit-like mining robot Tsuruhashi into increasingly complex mine shafts of your own creation. The game sees you not just digging for "rare matter", but fighting off underground enemies, building Pit Relay Systems to help offer upgrades and supporting units along the way, and more.

Both Tsuruhashi and your home base can be upgraded over time, lending it something of the feel of XCOM. There are even special moves built in for cheering on Tsuruhashi enough. It looks truly unusual, and markedly different from anything out there right now.

This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

How Sonic Frontiers Came to Be an 'Open-Zone' Game | IGN First

1 year 11 months ago

The Sonic series is no stranger to large departures from established formulas, and Sonic Frontiers is shaping up to be one of the biggest departures the blue hedgehog has seen yet. It takes the one-of-a-kind high speed 3D action and adapts it to fit a non-linear open world, or as Sonic Team themselves refer to it: an Open Zone. To break down the origin of this decision to break new ground with the 3D Sonic series, I talked with Sonic Team Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka, who not only explained the origin of the Open Zone design, but also spoke about the decision to merge old and new styles of Sonic gameplay in Sonic Frontiers.

IGN: When did you first get the idea to make an open zone focused Sonic game? Was this something that you brainstormed as an idea before the development of Sonic Frontiers?

Iizuka-san: After completing Sonic Forces, we were brainstorming on what to do next. We realized there's little room for evolution with a traditional 3D Sonic game. We'd only be able to make something that fans have seen before. That's why at the very start, we discussed as a team how to change this linear style of gameplay.

IGN: Did you look to any other Open World games as inspiriation when it came to designing Sonic Frontiers' Open Zone gameplay?

Iizuka-san: As I just mentioned, this game began with us asking how to give more freedom to linear Sonic games. Its origin is in a different place from open-world action-adventure games. This new "open zone" game system is our way of giving as much freedom as possible to a Sonic 3D action game.

Street Fighter 6 Will Have Character-Specific Taunts - Including Making Fun of Hadouken to Ryu

1 year 11 months ago

Street Fighter 6 is seemingly trying to expand the franchise on all fronts, including ways to make fun of your opponent.

The game's official Twitter account has been revealing more and more of Street Fighter 6 since its first gameplay was shown off at PlayStation's State of Play last week, most recently highlighting the different taunts available.

Street Fighter 6 will have character-specific taunts, with some of them being direct mockery towards the opposing character. In the clip shared on Twitter (below), Luke can be seen pretending to throw a weedy Hadouken in the face of Ryu.

"Will Ryu stand for this mockery or be a Chad and do something about?" the post jokes, before hinting that Ryu will have a plethora of different taunts himself. "Or does he have more ways to respond..." it adds.

God of War: Ragnarok Seemingly Planned for Release in November

1 year 11 months ago

God of War: Ragnarok is seemingly planned for a November release, after rumors of a delay to 2023.

Bloomberg reports that the long-awaited sequel will see a formal release date announcement this month, with a planned November date. IGN has also heard about a planned November release from sources with inside knowledge.

The Bloomberg report also says that the game was originally planned for release in September but subsequently pushed to November – and IGN has also heard this information. That original September slot is seemingly now filled by the Last of Us Part 1 remake announced yesterday.

After being announced for a 2021 release, the return of Kratos and Atreus was eventually delayed into 2022 (apparently because of surgery undergone by lead voice actor Christopher Judge). However, a long period of silence around the game led to rumors that it had been delayed once more – despite the game receiving a South Korean rating, which often signals a game due for release soon.
