Genshin Impact Kirara Weapons and Artifacts Are Flexible

11 months 2 weeks ago

Genshin Impact Kirara weapons Artifacts guide

Kirara is one of those rare characters in Genshin Impact who requires the same Artifacts and weapons no matter how you want to use her. Whether you want to add her to a team as a sub-DPS through her on-field Dendro application, or as a dedicated shielder, she more or less uses the same stuff. This makes Kirara a very flexible character who can change her job at the drop of a hat whenever you need her to.

As a Sword user, your choices are mostly ones that improve her ER or EM. There is the Key of Khaj-Nisut if you have it and don’t have a proper shielder. Kirara’s shield is actually really good compared to another Dendro shielder who came out around her debut. So it’s not a waste to put it on her depending on your situation.

Reno and Rude’s Popularity Meant More Development in FFVII Remake

11 months 2 weeks ago

FFVII Remake Reno Rude

In a Q&A with the writing staff for Final Fantasy VII Remake, someone asked why Reno and Rude became more humanized in the updated version of the game. In response, Square Enix uploaded part of the script that the voice actors used for the game. It also explained how the Reno and Rude’s popularity, as well as the Midgar-focused plot of FFVII Remake, affected the writing.

The script is from a scene in Chapter 11 of FFVII Remake. Specifically, it’s the scene where they receive orders to drop attack the Sector 7 pillar. Reno and Rude express doubt and irritation over this decision. Reno in particular says in a self-deprecating tone that it’s too late to pretend to be a good person. This brief conversation in question is the one that most strongly shows the difference in their portrayal between the remake and the original.

The question that someone posed to the writing staff wondered why FFVII Remake focused more on the human side of these two. Part of the answer is because the story centers so much on Midgar. So the staff wanted to spend more time on exploring and developing Shinra characters. Since Reno and Rude became popular after the original Final Fantasy VII, the writing staff gave them more screen time and personality in FFVII Remake. Though they still loyally carry out their orders, they show inner turmoil about what they have to do. Letting the audience see this was a way to make them seem more multifaceted.

Farworld Pioneers has the side-view construction and interplanetary exploration of Starbound, but adds the colony management of RimWorld. That sort of videogame-maths is useful, but in this instance it obscures the ambition of smooshing two huge games together. A tweet from the Xbox Australia and New Zealand account might - might! - be teasing Psychonauts 3. That's the conclusion of much of the internet, anyway. The tweet features a picture of a noughts and crosses board (aka tic-tac-toe) in which the letters for PSYCHO are written in pink and interspersed with three green Xs.

Psycho. Noughts and crosses. Three Xs. You can see where they're coming from.

Kirara Ascension Materials in Genshin Impact Are Easy to Find

11 months 2 weeks ago

Genshin Impact Kirara Ascension Materials

In Genshin Impact, Kirara is a fairly useful four-star Dendro swordswoman who can serve as either a shielder or as a sub-DPS while on the field. Her best usage is via exploring Teyvat using her Skill, Meow-teor Kick. Teyvat is dangerous though, so a cheap way to keep your Kirara alive with low investment is to level her up. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to find Ascension materials for Kirara in Genshin Impact.

Bronya’s Honkai: Star Rail Kit Is Compatible with All Sorts of Equipment

Honkai Star Rail Bronya Light Cones relics

In Honkai: Star Rail, Bronya is one of the standard five-star characters who you can get in either the permanent or the event banners. As of the current version, she is one of the best supports that you can get and easily fits into any team. Even without a lot of good Relics or Light Cones, Bronya can earn a slot in your Honkai: Star Rail party due to her useful Skill and powerful Ultimate.

For starters, let’s quickly explain how Bronya works and what Bronya needs. Bronya’s Skill removes a debuff from an ally and allows them to immediately take a turn. It also boosts their ATK by a fixed rate, which you can increase by leveling up her Trace. Her Ultimate increase the entire party’s ATK and Crit DMG by a percentage of Bronya’s own Crit DMG. Because Bronya’s Command Trace Bonus Ability passively sets her Crit Rate at 100%, you can hard invest into Bronya’s Crit DMG to take full advantage of her Ultimate.

While Bronya can work as a perfectly fine support unit if you just level her and her Traces up, you obviously will need some good Light Cones to make the most of her. Here are some Light Cones you can consider putting on your Bronya in Honkai: Star Rail:

Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City Might Be Getting A Sequel

11 months 2 weeks ago

resident evil welcome to racoon city sequel movie

2021's Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City blended together the stories of the first Resident Evil game and its sequel, Resident Evil 2 (which received a fantastic remake in 2019), and while it wasn't a complete knockout hit, some have been asking for a sequel. It seems one might be on the way.

According to a new report on Sudbury.com, a news organization that covers the Greater Sudbury area in Canada, which is where Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City was filmed, Sudbury is receiving an $11 million injection from the provincial government, as reported by PCGamesN. This government is funding 20 local projects through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and while a sequel to Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City hasn't officially been named as one of those 20 projects, there is one called "Umbrella Chronicles," and it's receiving $2 million.

For the fourth time since its release, “Idol” topped the Weekly Digital Singles Chart and Weekly Streaming Chart. It is also in first place for the Weekly Singles Chart. This is the first time in May that “Idol” has achieved this. In previous weeks, it dropped from #1 to hover at #2 and #3. Here’s How to Get Every Ending in Pocket Mirror GoldenerTraum

11 months 2 weeks ago

Pocket Mirror Goldenertraum endings

As one may expect, there are a couple of divergent endings in Pocket Mirror: GoldenerTraum. In total, there are seven endings in it, as well as several Dead Ends that result in an instant Game Over. To fully understand the story and lore of the game, you will need to go through the game multiple times. This guide will help you to see all of the endings in Pocket Mirror: GoldenerTraum and uncover the secret of the die Heilige family. As a warning, this guide will contain spoilers.

No matter what, you will have to replay the game twice. There’s one ending that you can only unlock if you don’t get any of the girls’ Regalias. But most of the other endings require you to have at least one. To make things easier, you can create multiple save files. You should make your first separate save as soon as you get to Fleta's Dollhouse so you can skip Egliette's section. Then, make another separate file when you reach Sub Rosa in Lisette’s world. Sub Rosa is where it splits between the Platinum and Dawn/Goody Two Shoes endings. After seeing Dawn or Goody Two Shoes, make a new save file when the game prompts you to so that you can load up from Hades to get the other ending.

Here are the different endings in Pocket Mirror: Goldenertraum and how to get them:

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailer impresses - but is it a generational leap?

11 months 2 weeks ago

The highlight of Sony's 2023 PlayStation showcase was a 12-minute trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - but despite impressive gameplay, reactions to its graphics have been mixed. On the surface, we seem to be getting a similar look to prior Spider-Man titles without obvious new graphical techniques - but if we analyse the trailer's gameplay segments more closely, we can get a better sense of where the game's visuals are from a technical perspective.

Right away, the most obvious visual improvement comes down to the building rendering. The Spider-Man titles on PS4 were bound by the console's hard drive and CPU, so to stream in New York City at a rapid enough clip for web-slinging traversal at up to 32 metres per second, certain concessions had to be made. Buildings were made with relatively simple, tiled textures with repeated detail. This was also true in Miles Morales and the two games' PS5 editions seem to use the same basic geometry and texture layouts as the PS4 versions.

In the Spider-Man 2 trailer, much of the action takes place in new regions of New York (unseen in the prior games) but there is some footage ripe for comparison - which reveals more varied texture work with grime and a smoother brick pattern up close, alongside different-looking windows and added vents, while other buildings in the distance are totally overhauled, with rounded-off edges, and broad, wide-set windows.

Miasma Chronicles - a disappointing follow-up to a tactics gem

11 months 2 weeks ago

Licensed video games are funny things. Sometimes a licence elevates a game, making it more than it would have been otherwise. I adore Respawn's Jedi games, for instance, but I doubt I'd feel the same way if they weren't set in a beloved galaxy far, far away. On other occasions, it can be overly restrictive, holding developers back as they try to work within and around the constraints of an existing setting. I rather enjoyed what I played of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Bearded Ladies' stealthy tactics 'em up based on a venerable TTRPG, so I was more than happy to take a look at the sort of follow-up Miasma Chronicles and see what it could do with a new world. Sadly it seems that the Mutant Year Zero licence was doing a lot of heavy lifting, as Miasma Chronicles doesn't have a fraction of that game's charm, while featuring some very questionable characters.

Venture to the Vile Preview: a Victorian-Inspired Metroidvania with Layers

11 months 2 weeks ago

Venture to the Vile clicked with me the first time I switched layers to solve a puzzle. I was trying to get to a lever that would open a door farther in, but there wasn’t a lever in the area I hadn’t pressed, and none of the ones I had opened the door. Then I remembered that one of them had extended a bridge to an area in the background. So I walked back to the bridge, shifted to the layer in the background, worked my way to the lever, and bingo: one open door. I love it when a plan comes together.

Venture to the Vile is a 2D Metroidvania with a twist. It's set in a 3D world, and you can switch between areas in the foreground and background as long as you find a path to get you there. See something cool? You can probably go there. Developer Studio Cut to Bits wants to emphasize exploration and a sense of surprise in Venture to the Vile, and based on my time with it, I think they’ve nailed it.

CD Projekt Red to Lay Off Around 30 Employees as Gwent Development Winds Down

11 months 2 weeks ago

CD Projekt Red will lay off around 30 more employees by the end of 2023 as development on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game winds down.

Revealed in a blog post on Gwent's website, CD Projekt Red confirmed that "about 30 remaining Gwent team members are going to part ways" with the studio.

This contradicts a statement from December when the developer told IGN that a small number of employees would be kept on to keep the game running while the remaining staff would be moved to other projects at CD Projekt Red.

A spokesperson told IGN that four team members will be laid off in June, with CD Projekt Red gradually increasing this number throughout the year until around 30 staff have been laid off in total.

"It’s never easy to say goodbye," the developer said in the blog post. "And even though decisions like this are unavoidable and a natural result of the transition, we’d like to express our sincere thanks for all the contributions these team members have made to Gwent. Just like the community, you helped make the game what it is today."

This announcement from CD Projekt Red follows two other waves of lay-offs. The Molasses Flood, which is owned by CD Projekt Red and currently developing the troubled Project Sirius Witcher game, saw 29 team members laid off earlier in May.

Tears of the Kingdom Players Have Already Found Another Duplication Glitch

11 months 2 weeks ago

Tears of the Kingdom players have unearthed yet another infinite duplication glitch just days after Nintendo dropped a patch which removed a number of existing exploits from the game.

As spotted by Games Radar, videos of new new glitch – including this one from YouTuber Kibbles Gaming – began appearing online earlier this week, giving players a new way to infinitely duplicate fused weapons.

With the weapon equipped, players should open the inventory and save the game, then hold the right bumper to prepare a throw, and without letting go, open the map. After this navigate to your adventure log and watch any memory four times in a row. Finally, press the plus button and load the previous save to find the duplicated item lying on the ground.

“I will never understand how anyone has this much time to figure things out like this…but I could never thank then enough either,” replied one viewer. “Honestly, if Nintendo had just removed the degradation system, then all this duplication nonsense wouldn’t even be necessary,” commented another.

According to Kibbles Gaming, the glitch may exist because viewing a memory advances the game by a single frame each time. So watching four memories progresses the game four frames, thus giving Link the time to throw the weapon while tricking the game into thinking that you haven’t.

Naoki Yoshida Confirms FFXVI PC Port After PS5 Release

11 months 2 weeks ago

Final Fantasy XVI official website PC FFXVI

In an interview with Ascii, FFXVI producer Naoki Yoshida revealed that production on a PC port will start after the PS5 version launches. There is no concrete window for when to expect it, but he stated that development will be slow and steady. [Thanks, Ascii!]

Rumors appeared in early 2023 about a PC release of FFXVI. This was due to a 2020 trailer showing that the game would come out on PC, and then a 2022 trailer talking about the 6-month PS5 exclusivity period. We took these two pieces of information to mean that the PC version of the game would come out after six months. In January 2023, Yoshida specified that the team is only focusing on the PS5 and warned against expecting the game on other platforms. Though he did not give a specific time frame for when development will start, it looks like PC players can expect to explore Valisthea some time in the distant future based on the interview.

Here is exactly what Yoshida said in the Ascii interview:

In regards to the development of the PC port, we plan to slowly work on it after release [of FFXVI for the PS5].
