Fortnite Creative 2.0's beta is out, allowing for some wild custom content

1 year 1 month ago

Epic Games have married their two money makers, creating holy matrimony between battle-royale mainstay Fortnite and Unreal Engine 5. As part of the company’s State Of Unreal presentation, Epic unveiled Unreal Editor For Fortnite (UEFN), a UE5-powered version of the game’s Creative mode which the community has been referring to as Creative 2.0 for the past few months. UEFN is out right now in beta form, and some of what’s possible with these tools are downright wild.

Dredge review - a clever fishing sim, but an underwhelming horror game

1 year 1 month ago

Among the critters you'll draw from the deepest depths of direful fishing sim Dredge is the snailfish, an unhappy sea sausage which, as the game's encyclopaedia explains, starts to implode as it's reeled up into a tortuously low-pressure world. It's a fleeting reminder that being transported from abyss to surface is always a transformation. Beautiful aquatic creatures become abominations, crushed and deformed by the vicious operating parameters of a reality they aren't built for.

In Dredge's case, they acquire right angles, each lush 2D fish illustration the core of a clump of blocks, which must be slotted into a cargo hold represented as an expandable grid. It's a bloodless short-cutting of real-world commercial fish processing, where creatures are hacked up into tradeable morsels on the deck before they've even finished suffocating. Smaller critters like the snailfish (which doesn't in fact implode here, despite the description) fill a couple of squares, and are easily plugged into gaps between your ship's engine or headlamps and the hull. Chunkier hauls like sharks form awkward, rectilinear Christmas trees of fins and jaws: cramming in more than one is always a challenge, but perhaps if you reshuffle your mackerels a bit, you'll magically make room.

This touch of spatial puzzling lends Dredge's fishing expeditions their difficulty curve as much as the threats that roam the game's 19th century archipelago by night. Each voyage is sort of like deliberately filling up the board in Tetris, risking a game-over only to clear multiple lines in one fell swoop when you drop your catch off at the market. It's the One Clever Mechanic at the heart of a 10-hour game of fishquests and upgrading, which is disquieting in many ways but seldom as actively, rewardingly horrific as it might seem at first.

GTA producer's not-crypto project Everywhere is part episodic blockbuster, part Roblox rival

1 year 1 month ago

In a former casino on the outskirts of Edinburgh, ex-Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies is readying his next big gamble: a creation-fuelled game platform with blockbuster experiences built in. It's called Everywhere, and seems almost too ambitious; a constructed attempt to beat the likes of Fortnite and Roblox at their own game, with the horsepower of big budget game development under its hood.

The stakes are high. Everywhere is the long-awaited debut from Build a Rocket Boy, the company Benzies set up six years ago after his acrimonious exit from Rockstar, and the project he and other GTA veterans have been quietly building ever since. Fuelled by investment from NetEase, Build a Rocket Boy now has more than 400 staff building various bits of Everywhere, housed in multiple sites across Edinburgh, Budapest, Montpellier and in China. The current plan is to have Everywhere publicly playable at some point later this year.

You may remember Everywhere from its rather nebulous unveiling at Gamescom last year - when it was teased via a brief trailer that did little to explain what it actually was. Following that, rumours swirled suggesting it would contain cryptocurrency and NFTs - something Benzies and his team now flatly denies. So what exactly is Everywhere? After a day inside the studio, I still have questions. Lots and lots of questions. But they are different questions now - more hopeful ones, I think - than those I went in there with.

Lords of the Fallen loses its 'The', gets very slick technical showcase

1 year 1 month ago

The Lords of the Fallen is now going to be known as Lords of the Fallen, and we just got a fresh look at the upcoming dark fantasy RPG thanks to last night's State of Unreal technical showcase.

As you may have guessed given where this latest footage comes from, Lords of the Fallen will run on Unreal Engine 5. Developer Hexworks explained the goal has "always been to create the most immersive game experience possible", and Unreal Engine 5 will help make this a reality.

And, I have to say, what has been shown so far certainly does look impressive. In the words of Eurogamer's Ed Nightingale: "This is how fans wanted Elden Ring to look".

Sonic Origins Plus Adds Amy As Playable Character, Game Gear Games, And More This June

1 year 1 month ago

Sonic Origins Plus

Last year, Sonic Origins celebrated Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday by gathering Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD in one place with new features and some added bonuses. Sonic Origins Plus brings forward all the features of Sonic Origins delivered last year – Classic Mode, Anniversary Mode, widescreen support, added story animations, a virtual museum, and more – while adding a bunch of new content. First up, Sonic Origins Plus adds all 12 Sonic Game Gear games to the museum.

The full list of Game Gear games getting added is listed below.

Aliens: Dark Descent Gets Gameplay Trailer And June Release Date

1 year 1 month ago

Aliens: Dark Descent release date

During Summer Game Fest last June, Alien fans were treated to the reveal of a new title called Aliens: Dark Descent. The real-time tactical shooter pits a squad of marines against dozens of deadly xenomorphs, though we hadn't seen any gameplay footage until the release of a new video today.

A gameplay commentary video walks players through the basics, in which players command a team of marines to investigate a xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. You’ll issue commands for teammates to attack or execute skills and can also slow time during firefights to select orders. However, your squadmates can perish permanently, but you can raise your survival odds by outfitting soldiers with various weapons and upgrades to ensure the best team composition.

Aliens: Dark Descent is being devleoped by Tindalos Interactive, makers of the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada series, and will be published by Focus Entertainment. It arrives on June 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Elden Ring Gets Ray Tracing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC

1 year 1 month ago

Elden Ring now has a ray tracing graphics option for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC versions of the game, courtesy of patch v1.09.

The update was pushed out earlier today, March 23, to all versions of the game, though the new ray tracing feature won't be available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Ray tracing can be toggled on and off via the game options menu on console and via the graphics menu on PC. Bandai Namco also cautioned in a post on its website that both frame rate and resolution “may be impacted while playing with ray tracing on”.

Along with the new ray tracing option, the v1.09 patch brought a slew of bug fixes and balance adjustments to the game that affect everything from attribute scaling and buffs, to attack speeds and Ashes of War.

A number of PvP specific nerfs have also been introduced, as has an invincibility window for players respawning in the colosseum. The full patch notes are available below.

Everywhere: The Ex-GTA Dev’s Game Creator That May Be Too Late to the Party

1 year 1 month ago

Leslie Benzies, the former president of Rockstar North and producer of eight Grand Theft Auto games, is hard at work on a brand new AAA action game. Along with hundreds of developers at his new studio, Build A Rocket Boy, he’s developing MindsEye; a cinematic conspiracy thriller with glossy photo-realistic visuals, car chases, and shootouts. But MindsEye is not like any AAA video game you’ve ever played for one important reason: it's exclusively available to play inside another video game, also in development at Build A Rocket Boy. That game is Everywhere, a free-to-play title coming initially to PC later this year, and it’s about as far away from GTA as it could possibly be.

As part of a recent trip to Build A Rocket Boy’s HQ in Edinburgh, Scotland, I was able to watch barely more than a minute or two of MindsEye in action. But I did get to see a reasonable amount more of Everywhere, a platform most simply described as big-budget Roblox. Less simply, Everywhere is many things: a PlayStation Home-like social space, a third-person shooter, a racing game, and – most importantly – a game creation tool. While it will launch with numerous game modes and locations, Everywhere’s flagship feature is its suite of comprehensive tools that allows anyone to make their own game or experience. Imagine Media Molecule’s Dreams with a Fortnite aesthetic and you’re more than halfway there.

Everywhere Developer Confirms It Will Not Use Blockchain or NFTs

1 year 1 month ago

Developer Build A Rocket Boy has confirmed that its upcoming game Everywhere does not use NFTs and is not built on the Blockchain. The confirmation comes following speculation around Everywhere’s link to Web 3.0 that began when the game was revealed at Gamescom 2022.

At a recent preview event attended by the press, Build A Rocket Boy made it clear that Everywhere was not linked to the Blockchain at all and will not use NFTs. In a roundtable interview, IGN asked why Build A Rocket Boy had decided to avoid the controversial technology.

“We don't need it, is the basic point,” said Mick Hocking, Chief Development Officer at Build A Rocket Boy.

“Blockchain and NFTs are useful when you want to take content outside of your walled garden and go onto an exchange or to go between products. [In Everywhere] everything is within our world, so players can share content, they can create content, we don't need the technology. So why implement it?”

Back in the summer of 2022, speculation emerged around Everywhere’s use of NFTs due to Build A Rocket Boy advertising multiple open job positions for a blockchain team. The developer quickly responded, saying “These are research positions, as we do not like dismissing new technologies only because others haven’t found a solution for them yet.”

The Lords of the Fallen, Sequel to Lords of the Fallen, Renamed Lords of the Fallen

1 year 1 month ago

The Lords of the Fallen, the long-awaited sequel to 2014 Souls-like Lords of the Fallen, has now been renamed... Lords of the Fallen.

As reported by PC Gamer, the name change was subtly baked into a technical showcase released on March 22 (below). This means the sequel now shares the exact same name with the original game despite only being released around a decade apart.

A similar naming debacle happened in February with Layers of Fear, as a remastered collection of the series was originally called Layers of Fears before the second S was also dropped.

The Lords of the Fallen sequel was re-revealed at Gamescom 2022 after years of troubled development spread across several different studios.

It's back on track, however, and a first look at its gameplay was released in December last year. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the RPG promises tough as nails combat in a dark fantasy world, taking place 1,000 years after the events of the original game.

The new Lords of the Fallen doesn't have a release date yet, but is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

The Caligula Effect: Overdose PS5 Release Date and Character Trailer Shared

The Caligula Effect Overdose PS5 Release Date and Character Trailer Shared

NIS America released The Caligula Effect: Overdose PS5 release date for North America, Europe, and Australia. It previously announced a 2023 release window. While the dates aren't too far apart from each other, depending on where you live it will arrive in either May or June. People in North America will get access to it first on May 30, 2023. Then a European release will follow on June 2, 2023. In Australia and New Zealand, people will see it on June 9, 2023. To go along with that reveal is also a new The Caligula Effect: Overdose character trailer.

While this The Caligula Effect: Overdose character trailer is new, it should look familiar. That’s because, due to this being a port, all of the people are ones who appeared in the game when it showed up in 2018 in Japan and 2019 worldwide. It focuses on members of the Go-Home Club after taking a quick peek at the player’s avatar.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOCK1mMTpRI&ab_channel=NISAmerica
This means we could eventually see NIS America also release an additional trailer focusing on the Ostinato Musicians characters found in that route.

The Caligula Effect: Overdose PS5 version release date is May 30, 2023 in North America, June 2, 2023 in Europe, and June 9, 2023 in Australia. It is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.

Elden Ring Receives Ray-Tracing Support in Latest Update

1 year 1 month ago

Elden Ring receives Ray-Tracing on latest patch

Bandai Namco shared the details of the latest Elden Ring patch, and ray-tracing is a part of the update. Support for it is most notable new feature. However, it will only be for the latest consoles. At the same time, PvP balance adjustments were made and many bugs were fixed.

This new patch, which brings the game to version 1.09, allows PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC players to activate ray-tracing for Elden Ring. To do so on consoles, simply access the Game Options and activate ray-tracing. For the PC, on the other hand, the adjustments are made from the graphics section and is enabled if the device is compatible with this technology.

However, the company also warned that using ray-Tracing in Elden Ring may affect elements such as resolution and frame rate. To ensure the best performance, these are the technical specifications on PC:

Minimum

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, 12 GB
  • Recommended Graphics Setting: 1080p - Low quality – Low Ray Tracing

Dredge review: spooky ocean thrills that reel you in for more

1 year 1 month ago

Something terrible lurks beneath the waves in Dredge. Actually, scratch that. There are a lot of terrible things that call the oceans of The Marrows home in this melancholy fishing adventure, but what they are, I couldn't possibly tell you. In all my hours sailing these cursed waters, I've only ever seen brief flashes of them - their ungodly, slippery masses, long spiny fins, and a dozen different combinations of glowing eyes, teeth and tentacles. They're forever fading in and out of view, cloaked by the thick fog that blankets the sea every evening. Sometimes your ship lights will catch them for a split second before they slip away, or maybe you'll only hear them hurtling toward you, with a scream of a jet engine and a maw that's white hot, ready for gnashing your flimsy wooden carcass into sawdust.

It's unnerving, being out at sea after dark, but that's the time when the rarest and most vile catches raise their scaly heads. So the question becomes: are you willing to risk your own sanity for the sake of a quick buck? Or are you too afraid of what you'll find in Davy Jones' locker? In Dredge, the answer is always yes. Yes, you will be frightened of what's out there, whether it's real or born from your own fearful imaginings, but you'll sputter out into the darkness regardless, because the allure of this supernatural fishing sim is just too good to resist.

TMNT graphic novel The Last Ronin will become a dark God of War-style video game

1 year 1 month ago

Prepare for a darker take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in a video game version of well-regarded comic book The Last Ronin.

As reported by Polygon, this game will be a third-person action role-playing game in the style of God of War, with the last surviving Turtles member as its hero.

The Last Ronin tells a markedly different Turtles tale from usual. It's set in a grim future where three of the four superhero turtles are dead, alongside Master Splinter. The remaining Turtle - whose identity is only revealed at the end of the book - acts as a lone avenger, taking down The Foot Clan across New York City.

Are Unreal Engine's procedural generation and Ubisoft's Ghostwriter the future of game development?

1 year 1 month ago

This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, we discuss the bleeding-edge technologies on show this week at GDC 2023 - from Epic Games' eye-popping Unreal Engine to Ubisoft's intriguing new Ghostwriter dialogue tool.

Last night's startling State of Unreal presentation by Epic revealed a swathe of new features coming to the company's suite of game development tools - such as photo-realistic procedural generation on a massive scale, and the ability to translate iPhone video footage into pretty slick performance capture. Earlier this week, Ubisoft also showed off Ghostwriter, an "AI"-driven tool to suggest script lines for use in background dialogue.

But are these advancements the future of video game development, or are they an encroachment by AI into the kinds of work previously the domain of human writers and animators? Or both? Joining me to discuss all that are Eurogamer's Ed Nightingale and Victoria Kennedy.

Cyberpunk 2077 to get path-traced Overdrive Mode next month

An upcoming tech preview for CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 will show us the power of path-tracing. Move over ray- tracing, there is a new kid on Cyberpunk's block.

Path-tracing, which is also known as full ray-tracing, has been used in computer-generated imagery for films and TV for a while now, with notable examples including some Pixar animations. It "accurately simulates light throughout an entire scene", making things even more realistic.

Now, this tech is coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on 11th April, in the game's Ray-tracing: Overdrive Mode.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum offers an authentic take on Tolkien's Middle-earth

1 year 1 month ago

Between Amazon's recent Rings of Power series and no less than five games on the way from Embracer, there's a wealth of Lord of the Rings stuff for fans to enjoy. But then, is Tolkien ever really out of fashion?

That includes The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from German studio Daedalic. It's been in development for some time and is due out later this year - I recently visited the Hamburg studio to go hands-on with the game.

Despite inspiring countless video games, only a couple based directly on Tolkien's work have truly stood out. After playing the game, I'm not so sure Gollum will reach the heights of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its innovative Nemesis system, but it's certainly shaping up to be an authentic take on the original source material that lore enthusiasts will pore over.

TMNT: The Last Ronin Video Game Is In Development

1 year 1 month ago

TMNT The Last Ronin video game

A video game based on the hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graphic novel The Last Ronin is in the works, Polygon reports.

The news comes from Polygon's interview with Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global. According to Rosen, The Last Ronin video game will be a single-player action role-playing title in the vein of the Norse-themed God of War series. Like the story it adapts, the game will feature a mature tone. The game’s developer has not been named, and the project is years away from release.

The Last Ronin was published in 2020 as a five-issue mini-series by IDW. It takes place in a dark futuristic New York, where three of the four turtles have been killed. The surviving turtle, whose identity is revealed at the end of the first issue (we won’t spoil it), dons a black mask and seeks revenge by fighting crime using both his and the weapons of his fallen brothers.

It’s a cool (and very grim) story if you haven’t read it, and we’re excited to see it translated into a game. Rosen also mentions in the same interview that Paramount sees opportunities to create different types of TMNT games that target young and adult audiences.

Redfall Preview And Interview With Arkane Studios' Harvey Smith | GI Show

Arkane Studios, best known for creating the acclaimed stealth series Dishonored, has made a name for itself by realizing game worlds with rich lore, environmental storytelling, and curious, interweaving levels. Its specialty is developing immersive sims, a niche it’s helped cultivate since 1999. On May 2, Arkane releases its next project, Redfall, an open-world first-person shooter.

God of War-Inspired TMNT: The Last Ronin Game in the Works

1 year 1 month ago

The hit 2020 comic book series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is being adapted as a video game, and it's one that draws heavy inspiration from the God of War franchise and similar action games.

Polygon broke the news in an interview with Doug Rosen, Senior Vice President for Games and Emerging Media at Paramount Global. While the developer involved is still being kept under wraps, Rosen indicated the goal is to create a AAA action title that draws heavily from the comic book source material.

The Last Ronin is notable for being the first collaboration in many years between TMNT creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Based on an unproduced story from the '80s, Last Ronin is a Dark Knight Returns-esque tale set in a bleak, futuristic version of the TMNT universe. In this world, all but one of the four Turtles has been killed by the Foot Clan, leaving the lone survivor to seek revenge against the grandson of Shredder.

Rosen also indicated the game will break from TMNT tradition by only focusing on one character (though he didn't rule out the possibility of the other Turtles appearing via flashback sequences). The titular Last Ronin carries the weapons of his fallen brothers, which could suggest the game will allow players to switch weapons and fighting styles on the fly.

Little else is known about the Last Ronin game right now, and the game is said to be "a few years" from release at this early stage.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Gets May Release Date

1 year 1 month ago

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will launch on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on May 25, with the Nintendo Switch version scheduled for sometime later this year.

The gameplay will feature a blend of stealth and action as Gollum sneaks around Middle-earth. The game will also have players making choices that align with either the character's darker side — Gollum — or his gentler half known as Sméagol. The developers have said the game is taking inspiration directly from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, rather than Peter Jackson's film adaptations of the books.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was first announced back in 2019 for a 2021 release date. The original reveal said the game would explore events between Gollum's discovery of the One Ring and the beginning of the events seen in in The Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Is a Tale of Two Smeagols

1 year 1 month ago

If you’re anything like me, when you first heard that a game set in the Lord of the Rings universe following the exploits of Smeagol was being developed, you were skeptical. Though vital to the story of Middle Earth’s conflict with Sauron, he’s largely a one note antagonist who is present for as long as necessary throughout the books, and no longer. At least that's what I thought going in. But my brief time with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum makes a solid first argument that the lost journey of the third “hobbit” could be just as interesting as Frodo and Bilbo’s. Much of the new story blends seamlessly into the well-established lore, but it’s Smeagol’s relationship with his suppressed alter ego that keeps the journey compelling.

A big selling point for me was the possibility of following the footsteps of Middle Earth’s greatest misfit and watching him duel with himself. The body of the man is piloted by two minds, the naive and placid Sméagol and the selfish and malicious Gollum. Whenever he’s guided to make a choice, they’re usually from either perspective. Does Sméagol answer a question honestly and earnestly, or does Gollum lie and insult the inquirer? The developers told me that these choices do add up, and eventually you’ll find yourself in positions where one personality will dominate the conversation based on your preference of one over the other.

Speedrunner Suigi set a new world record with a 16-Star run on Super Mario 64 that he completed in just over 14 minutes and 35 seconds. He shared his achievement on YouTube and celebrated the win on Twitter, writing: "FIRST 14:3X, WORLD RECORD, WITH NO MISTAKES."

As shown on Speedrun.com Suigi's latest 16-Star run on Super Mario 64 puts him at the top of the global leaderboard for this category by a fair margin, with second place going to a speedrunner who collected 16 stars in 14:50.69 and third place clocking in at 14:53.45.

The record-breaking result was acknowledged by viewers, with one person commenting on the YouTube video: "Quite possibly the greatest speedrun of all time, across all games." And another adding: "Already had an OVERWHELMING lead in this category, then DESTROYS his best time by 6 seconds. This is the GOAT run of SM64. Nothing comes close."

Sonic Origins Plus Brings More Classic Sonic Games to Modern Consoles in June

1 year 1 month ago

Sonic Origins Plus is bringing even more classic Sonic games to modern consoles when it launches on Sonic’s birthday: June 23, 2023.

It adds all 12 Game Gear games; a playable Amy to Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD; and a playable Knuckles to Sonic CD.

This content will be available as a $9.99 expansion for those who own 2022’s Sonic Origins, while those who don’t can purchase it and all the regular Sonic Origins content in a single package for $39.99.

Those buying Sonic Origins Plus as an expansion for the base game will also get every piece of previously released Sonic Origins DLC. The new content will, of course, align with the main game in being digitally remastered for modern platforms, as it will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The physical edition of Sonic Origins Plus will come with a 20 page art book and reversible cover sleeve with never before seen artwork.

The Sonic Origins base game launched on June 23 last year but not without controversy. Some fans were already upset over the state of the game’s DLC, as Sega had announced that Hard Missions, camera controls on elements of the main menu, and some character animations were all locked off content.

The Witcher 3: The Story Behind CD Projekt Red's Decision to Kill Off a Beloved Book Character

1 year 1 month ago

Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for a key plot point in The Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3 took some bold risks with Andrzej Sapkowski’s canon when it was released in 2015, even going so far as to kill off Vesemir, Geralt's mentor and a prominent character from the books. It was a surprising move for the time, and it was even somewhat controversial within CD Projekt Red’s design team.

Looking back on the decision during a GDC 2023 panel titled “10 Key Quest Design Lessons From The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077,” CD Projekt Red quest director Pawel Sasko recalled the moment he concluded that he needed to kill off Geralt’s venerable mentor.

“I needed the moment for Ciri to actually make a decision that she’s not going to be hunted anymore…she’s going to be a hunter, she’s going to go after the Wild Hunt. But to do that I needed an actual event that would break her inside, and that was the moment when I proposed to our writer’s team that we kill Vesemir,” Sasko recalled.

The rest of The Witcher 3’s development was hesitant, not the least because of the role Vesemir plays in the books. Would players accept the death of such a high-profile character?

“At first, they weren’t sure we should be doing that. But in the discussions with Marcin Blacha, our story director, we reached the conclusion that it was actually a really good decision for Ciri to make that step,” Sasko said, pointing to the psychological impact that traumatic events can have.

Bloodborne Is Like Parenting… No Wait Hear Me Out

1 year 1 month ago

It’s difficult, but deeply rewarding. It’s a lot easier when you have help. You can’t pause it. And at some point, you WILL ask, “wait, what am I supposed to do with the umbilical cord?” Am I describing Bloodborne… or parenting? Or both?

We’ve all heard something difficult described as “The Dark Souls of ____” - but hear me out: the first thing you do in Bloodborne AND as a parent is stumble out of a hospital terrified at what happens next and with no clear instructions about how to approach it. In both cases, this terrifying new scenario is the result of some reckless behavior involving bodily fluids.

Early on, it’s not easy – it can be frustrating, confusing, scary – and everybody’s talked it up so much that you might feel like there’s something wrong with you personally for not immediately loving it… and if we're being honest, a lot of people DO give up and just walk away.
