We had an idea of what the Genshin Impact 2.8 would involve, and now there's a trailer for it. It showed up as part of HoYoVerse's Special Program. In addition, the update ended with a teaser for the Genshin Impact Sumeru region.

There's a Genshin Impact 2.8 trailer that teases some of the things people will do and see after the update. Things begin with a peek at Heizou, the new Anemo character. After that, a few of the characters featured in its storylines show up. Fischl will feature prominently. So will Hazuha, Mona, and Xinyan. All of them will be a part of the Summertime Odyssey. This will involve new domains and Waverider boating activities. People can also earn a free four-star Fischl for participating in the event.

Both Diluc and Fischl will have an option to look different after the Genshin Impact update, as new outfits are on the way. Following the 2.8 patch, a new costume for each character will appear. Diluc's is called Red Dead of Night. It is actually a five-star outfit, which means it will add extra effects and a custom idle animation. Fischl's Ein Immernachtstraum.

The Fischl Genshin Impact outfit will be one people can earn by playing through the Resonating Visions event. You'll search for conches around the island. However, at a later date it will be sold in the Character Outfit Shop for Genesis Crystals. (Those are purchased with real money.)

As usual, the 2.8 Genshin Impact Special Program confirmed the banners for the event This time, they are all reruns bringing back familiar five-star faces. This update will mark the return of Kazuha, Klee, and Yoimiya in Genshin Impact rerun banners, as well as the debut of Shikanoin Heizou. There will also be a Acer Palmatum Chapter: Act 1 Story Quest for Kazuha. Heizou will get his own Trap 'em By Storm Hangout Quest.

Both Kazuha and Heizou are Anemo characters. Kazuha is a five-star unit who wields a sword. Heizou is a four-star who attacks with a catalyst. Both are from Inazuma. The two of them, along with a Klee rerun banner, will appear immediately after the update launches on July 13, 2022. Klee, as a reminder, is a five-star Pyro catalyst user. Heizou will show up as a featured four-star in both Kazuha and Klee's banners.

Yoimiya's banner will appear in the second part of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. She's a five-star Pyro archer.

Switch's 'impossible ports' are the new 'arcade perfect' - games devised for much more powerful hardware somehow, miraculously, receiving remarkably impressive conversions onto relatively meagre hardware. However, variable performance and low resolution are also hallmarks of these otherwise astonishing technical achievements and it's here where we need to highlight the work of Rebellion North in delivering some exceptional conversions. Zombie Army 4 is its latest Switch conversion, running at the same 30fps as the PS4 game at a target 1080p resolution and retaining the title's signature 80-100 strong horde of on-screen zombies. Below, you'll see our analysis work on this exceptional port, but the bulk of this piece isn't about the 'what', it's about the 'how', with the developer itself sharing its methodology and insights into the conversion process.

At first glance, Zombie Army 4 on Switch is a ringer for the PS4 version and seemingly matching the resolution and frame-rate goes a long way - just as it did for the firm's excellent Sniper Elite 4 conversion. As you'll read in the interview, development targets native resolution and 30fps in Switch's mobile mode, before scaling up to the docked experience. Dynamic resolution is used, with a 918p to 1080p range, dropping to 684p to 720p handheld. Beyond that, the nips and tucks are many and varied, but crucially, not especially noticeable. There are some exceptions though: cutbacks to dynamic shadows and a lack of screen-space ambient occlusion.

The DioField Chronicle stream came and went on July 2, 2022, and with it came a release date and demo announcement. In Japan, the title will appear on September 22, 2022. A demo is also on the way. That will show up on digital storefronts in Japan on August 10, 2022. It is currently known if this will be a simultaneous worldwide release date for both the game and its demo.

Here's the announcement, which includes a new piece of art showing its characters. It features folks like Andrias Rhondarson, Fredret Lester, Iscarion Colchester, and Waltaquin Redditch.

Among the many Anime Expo 2022 announcements is a trailer with an update on part 2 of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean anime adaptation. The next batch of episodes will show up on Netflix on September 1, 2022. This update will start with episode 13. It will add 12 more episodes, bringing the total up to 24. The initial batch covered episodes 1-12.

Here's a look at the new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean part 2 trailer. It reveals Jolyne had herself sent to "the hole" at the Green Dolphin Street Prison. Why? A bone that could resurrect DIO is there. She's attempting to find it before Father Pucci and his allies do. In addition to Jolyne, other major cast members like Ermes, Foo Fighters (FF), and Anasui appear. If you turn on closed captions, English subtitles are available.

The new anime video isn’t the only Stone Ocean trailer to show up, as one appeared for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R too. Bandai Namco shared it as part of its Anime Expo 2022 events. It offered a peek at Jolyne, Ermes, and FF as they beat up on Father Pucci. For reference, FF is new to this version of the game and didn’t appear in the original.

Today HoYoverse opened the floodgates of details of version 2.8 of Genshin Impact, which will be titled “Summer Fantasia.”

The new update will launch on July 13 and include a new character named Shikanoin Heizou, a genius detective from the Tenryou Commission.

Kaedehara Kazuha will also get his story quest, while Diluc and Fischl will receive a new outfit. including a new idle animation and effects.

Of course, there will be plenty of events and quests to enjoy the summer together with your favorite Genshin Impact characters.

Ubisoft has confirmed it's shortly pulling the plug on a number of its games, including Anno 2070, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and Assassin's Creed 2.

Most of the games included on the list are getting on a bit, but three-year-old VR game Space Junkies is also getting pulled, and as its a "multiplayer-only title", you will be "unable to play the game going forward".

Whilst the singleplayer features for these games will mostly be unaffected, multiplayer modes or online features may be unavailable after 1st September, along with the ability to buy DLC.

Two developers that had been working on a Fallout mod have been offered jobs by Bethesda.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the lead technical adviser and project manager of Fallout: London, a "DLC-sized" mod for Fallout 4, have both been offered jobs; the former as an associate level designer, and the latter a chance to work on Fallout 76.

Ryan Johnson took up the new job as an associate level designer, albeit only after ensuring his "expected level design tasks" for the mod were complete and succession planning was in place. Dean Carter, however, decided not to take the Fallout 76 position as they wanted to "continue working [on] Fallout: London until the end".

Sony's Santa Monica Studio has now issued a formal statement asking that all players treat its developers "with respect".

As Victoria so perfectly summarised for us at the time, yesterday was a sad day. In less than 24 hours, we got the news that Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert was no longer going to talk about the upcoming release of Return to Monkey Island following online abuse, and God of War Ragnarök's producer had to ask everyone to remain patient while waiting for more news on the game after we learned that some members of the God of War Ragnarök team were receiving unsolicited pictures of their private parts.

Consequently, Santa Monica Studio today issued a formal statement about the incident via its social media channels.

A Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Switch port is on the way. As part of its Anime Expo 2022 reveals, Bandai Namco confirmed the entry will show up on the system. There's no release date for when it will show up yet. However, there is a new trailer that appeared alongside the announcement.

As the name suggests, this latest Sword Art Online game is based on the arc and anime season of the same name. In this new entry, Kirito is trapped inside of a new VR game. There, he makes friends with Eugeo and Alice. He eventually heads to the North Centoria Imperial Sword Mastery Academy with Eugeo as the two attempt to reunite with Alice again. The game goes over these adventures.

Today Aquaplus and Shiravune released a new trailer of the upcoming Utawarerumono JRPG “Monochrome Mobius: Toki no Taika”, titled in English “Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten.”

We get to see the game’s turn-based battle system which will certainly be familiar for JRPG veterans.

On top of that, the trailer showcases glimpses of the story narrated via cutscenes.

Enemies are visible on the map as you explore and you can run into them to start battles. Whether you strike first or last depends on how you make contact.

If you keep hitting enemies you can stagger them and push them back in the attack order, represented by a stylish series of rings on the top left of the screen. Various abilities like Zeal and more can influence the rings.

Moving on the inner ring makes your attack order quicker.

We also take a look at Halu, the game’s cute mascot who can also fight by your side.

UPDATE 5/7/22: Deus Ex writer Mary DeMarle will work on the next Mass Effect game, it's been confirmed.

Mass Effect director Michael Gamble confirmed the news via Twitter last night, shortly after it emerged DeMarle was joining BioWare.

DeMarle most recently worked on Eidos Montreal's Guardians of the Galaxy. At BioWare, she will serve as the Mass Effect project's senior narrative director.

Sega has pledged to match donations to "accredited non-profile organisations supporting reproductive rights" following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade in the US.

It is the latest in a long line of gaming industry companies speaking out against the decision and pledging support of reproductive rights.

"At Sega, we stand for equality and believe in the ability to make choices about one's body is a human right," the brief statement, posted yesterday on Twitter.

At Anime Expo 2022, Sekai Project announced that it would publish both INUPARA: Dog’s Paradise and NEKOPARA After: La Vraie Famille. There is no news yet as to which platforms they will come out on. However, NEKOPARA games are available on Windows PCs, the Nintendo Switch, and the PlayStation 4. Both INUPARA and NEKOPARA After: La Vraie Famille will could also appear on those platforms.

INUPARA: Dog’s Paradise is a spin-off of Nekopara featuring dog girls instead of cat girls. It originally appeared as an April Fool’s joke, with a fake trailer debuting on YouTube on March 31, 2022. NEKO WORKs then announced that it would be a real game that was in development.

The story of INUPARA will place you in the role of a young college student who works as a part-time pet groomer. One day, his two dogs Tanpopo and Himawari turn into dog girls. Other dogs from his life, such as the corgi at his parents’ house, appear as humanoids as well. The game then revolves around the hijinx that naturally ensue.

The Mega Drive Mini 2 is an interesting little device, offering a new slate of Sega Genesis and Sega CD classics that reaches a little further into the library than the first one. We've already seen some of the titles revealed! But there's a lot more to go. What game do you want to see the most? Here are our picks.

Know what would be cool? If the Mega CD version of Shin Megami Tensei showed up on the Mega Drive Mini 2. I know it is probably more unlikely than some other games. Not to mention the game is more strongly associated with the Super Famicom. But that version did get extra demons! Like, you know, Skuld, Urd, and Verdandi. That’s pretty neat! — Jenni

I don't have much connection to the Mega Drive/Genesis, being one of the "Nintendo kids" of my elementary school. Still, I did look with some envy on the Sega CD games that the Sega kids would brag about. Among them were the crop of more "mature", cinematic titles that used FMV and other fancy-pants techniques of the day, like Night Trap. It would be fascinating to be able to play a game that helped launch a moral panic in its day on a machine that somewhat resembles the original hardware of the time.

That being said, Night Trap is already available outside the Sega CD, so barring that, I'd ask for that console's version of Snatcher. — Josh

We start with Raspberry Cube, by the creators of Wagamama high spec Madsoft, it’s coming soon to PC via Steam.

After school, he helps out part-time with Yuzuki Yuu who works at an understaffed military hobby store.

Final Fantasy 14's next patch, 6.2, is scheduled to launch in late August. Among its many additions will be a new "Island Sanctuary", a personal island where players can gather materials, build facilities and look after creatures. It sounds like a slice of Stardew.

There's a new update on Doki Doki Literature Club merchandise. Good Smile Company offered details on two figures at Anime Expo 2022. First, it showed an unpainted prototype of the DDLC Natsuki Nendoroid. This marks her first appearance anywhere. The company also revealed a DDLC Monika Pop Up Parade figure is in the works too.

First, here’s the DDLC Natsuki Nendoroid. It confirms she’ll come with a face plate in which she’s smiling and blushing and arm parts that feature her arms folded over her chest. This figure was first announced back in May 2022.

Today third-party developers had juicy news and a release to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including airports and an aircraft.

We start with a release by Jetstream Designs, which launched its Italian Airports Bundle.

Despite the name, it’s actually a bundle of three airports in the most extreme south of Italy, Palermo (LICJ) and the island airports of Pantelleria (LICG) and Lampedusa (LICD).

You can find them on Contrail priced at €20.40 plus applicable VAT for the bundle, or separately at €10.5 plus applicable VAT each.

Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best community works from the previous week. With another month down, the site and its staff are jumping into the heart of summer. As such, be aware that several staff will begin taking vacations. Monday July 4th is a holiday in the United States and there will be no scheduled streams or video content on the site on that day. Also, Jan announced at the end of Run for the Hills 09 that he will be taking a much needed vacation and the feature will go on hiatus until he returns.

To continue the note from last week, the site's staff are working with ActBlue's Abortion Fund to help provide women with healthcare and abortion resources. If you have even a small amount to donate, please consider doing so. Over on GameSpot, the site has an even more exhaustive and in-depth article about what everyone can do to fight for reproductive rights in the United States.

Earlier this week, many community members experienced a 503 Error when they attempted to download old video content. For most, the issue has been resolved, but if there are any specific videos you cannot download or the error is still a problem for you, drop a comment in the linked thread.

Ubisoft are switching off online services for several older singleplayer games, including Anno 2070, Far Cry 3, Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. For several of those games, that means that as of September 1st, "the installation and access to DLC will be unavailable," according to an Ubisoft support page.

It turns out Good Smile Company brought three VShojo figures to Anime Expo 2022. It showed off an unpainted prototype of the Nyatasha Nyanners Pop Up Parade figure and confirmed Veibae would also appear in that lineup. Previously, it showed off an Ironmouse Nendoroid at the event.

First, here's how the Nyatasha Nyanners Pop Up Parade figure will look. She's wearing a different outfit than she does for her Nendoroid. This one is a shorter dress with ruffles and a bow. Her hair will also be in pigtails for this figure, rather than down like in the other figure.

At Anime Expo 2022, Aksys Games announced it picked up the Switch otome titles Norn9: Var Commons & Last Era, Radiant Tale, and Shuuen no Virche ~ErroЯ:Salvation. Of the three, Norn9 is one it handled before. It released the Vita version of the base game worldwide in 2015. All three are expected to appear in 2023.

Norn9: Var Commons & Last Era consists of the base game and its fandisc. The base game is unique in that there are three possible heroines to choose from. Each one has her own three love interests. The fandisc offers additional storylines. It appeared in Japan as Norn9 LOFN back in September 2018.

Here’s a Japanese trailer for it.

Radiant Tale is about woman who ends up producing a group of performers called CIRCUS. Among them are a man who made a contract with a water spirit named Paschalia, a dragon named Vilio, and a clown named Zafora. In addition to her new role, she’ll also have a chance to fall in love. It showed up in Japan in May 2022.

Good Smile Company brought up four Attack on Titan Nendoroids at Anime Expo 2022. One was the reveal that an Eren Yeager: Attack Titan version figure would be created. In addition, it also showed off unpainted Nendoroid prototypes of the Attack on Titan: The Final Season versions of Eren, Mikasa Ackerman, and Levi Ackerman.

First, here's the Attack Titan concept art. Since it was only just announced, there's no prototype for it yet. However, people can get an idea of how it will look in a "chibi" form.

Two new crossover events will happen in the near future in Identity V, with characters from Angels of Death and Fatal Frame Project Zero II appearing in the Manor. These are appearing on the tails of news about the upcoming Bungo Stray Dogs crossover, as well as the current Link Click one. It is currently unknown when these events will appear and which characters will show up as skins.

Angels of Death is a freeware horror game on the Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. There is also an anime adaptation, as well as several mangas. The story focuses on Rachel “Ray” Gardner, who is in counseling because she saw a murder. However, she wakes up with amnesia and in the midst of a killing game. She ends up forming an alliance with Zack, a serial killer. As they appear in the trailer, it is likely that Zack and Ray will be the skins you can obtain.

Shuuen no Virche ~ErroЯ:Salvation still doesn’t have an official localized title and it’s an Otome visual novel set in a city where everyone is cursed to die by the age of 23.

It’s part of Idea Factory’s Otomate brand and it’s coming for Nintendo Switch in 2023.

Today Atlus released one of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will be featured in the game.

This time we get the reveal of Succubus, one of the most classic Megami Tensei demons that also appeared in the recent Shin Megami Tensei V.

Like most daily trailers, we also get the daily horoscope, which sees Libra at the top of the fortune ranking and Virgo at the bottom.

Soul Hackers 2 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese launch on August 25.

Today Spike Chunsoft hosted its panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles and had a couple of interesting reveals for fans of Mages’ Science Adventure visual novel franchise.

First of all, Anonymous;Code is officially coming to North America and Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

This took quite some time since the game was announced all the way back in 2015 (at some point, it was supposed to come on PS Vita) and after numerous delays, it’s finally releasing in Japan this month. It’ll hit the western markets in 2023 and a Steelbook Launch Edition will be available.

Today Aniplex and Viz Media released a new trailer of the upcoming final arc of the Bleach anime, Thousand-Year Blood War.

We get to see several well-known characters from the series as they gather to face this apocalyptic last battle.

As we already know, the series will air in October 2022, as announced last year at Jump Festa in Tokyo.

The original Bleach manga by Tite Kubo (who recently worked on the character design of the latest Sakura Wars game) debuted in 2001, then sparking an anime series, theatrical releases, and even a live-action movie.

Of course, the massively popular franchise also appeared in plenty of additional kinds of media, including video games, light novels, and even stage plays.

Ten years have passed since the end of the original Bleach anime, so it’ll be nice to reconnect with Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia, and the other characters of the popular series.

If you ask me, Portal's signature moment involves putting a portal in the ceiling and another portal in the floor just below it. Thump, thump. These portals, for the uninitiated, are basically two sides of the same magical hole; walk through the orange portal and you emerge through the blue portal. In the game's deliriously arch fiction you are testing a device that projects these holes, allowing you to do unusual things with space as a result.

How unusual? With the floor and ceiling set-up, you have created an extremely short tunnel, the height of the room you're in. And yet it's also a tunnel you can fall through forever, that single room zipping by again and again like the repeated domestic background in a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

Here is the thing, though. Over a decade after Portal's release, just thinking about Portal can be a bit like falling through that simultaneously brief and endless tunnel. Oh, to make a Slinky of your thoughts! Blue becomes orange, distance becomes time, ceiling becomes floor becomes ceiling again. Absolutes clash against conflicting absolutes.
