Sky: Children of the Light animation project anime ThatGameCompany teaser video trailer AnimeJapan 2022

The Sky: Children of the Light Twitter account shared a short teaser for an upcoming animation project. It first appeared at AnimeJapan 2022. The Sky anime teaser shows off concept art such as backgrounds and characters, as well as some rough storyboards. The teaser does not mention if the project will be a series, a short, or a movie.

You can watch the Sky: Children of the Light animation project teaser below, as well as from the thatgamecompany YouTube channel:

While Sky: Children of the Light started out as a mobile game, thatgamecompany ported it to Nintendo Switch in June 2021. The game is open-world and focuses on social mechanics. Its premise is that the player explores a kingdom with a cape that allows them to fly. The various stages represent the stages of life. Because there is minimal plot in the game, it is unclear what the animation project will be about.

Capcom to Discontinue Sales of Ace Attorney Trilogy HD on Mobile in Japan

2 years 1 month ago

Capcom discontinue discontinued sales Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD mobile Android iOS Japan

Capcom announced it will discontinue sales of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD for mobile devices in Japan. Consumers will have until June 9, 2022 to purchase the game and extra scenarios. However, Capcom has stated that Android and iOS users who purchase Ace Attorney Trilogy HD before it discontinues sales will be able to access the game. That said, there are some stipulations. [Thanks, Gamer!]

For example, iOS users will have access to any in-game content they have purchased, regardless of the game being discontinued. However, Android users will only have access to content that has been downloaded to their phone before Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD is discontinued on mobile devices. Both versions will allow for consumers to obtain achievements and to re-download the app if it has been uninstalled. Save data for the title cannot be recovered once the game is discontinued from app stores though.

However, Capcom does plan to release the similarly named Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy for Android and iOS devices sometime in the future. This is the version of the game that was re-released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

All of Elden Ring's horrible dogs, rated

2 years 1 month ago

FromSoftware's games are filled with formidable foes, from notorious bosses like the Four Kings and Genichiro Ashina, to infamous regular enemies like Dark Souls' basilisks, or those sodding kite ninjas from Sekiro. Yet despite the presence of all these terrifying enemies, nothing sets me on edge in a FromSoft game like encountering a dog. The hideous hounds of Dark Souls and Bloodborne were bad enough, but Elden Ring takes canine combat to a whole other level.

Horror survival sequel Sons Of The Forest delayed

2 years 1 month ago

The makers of The Forest announced over the weekend that they're delaying the launch of the craft-o-survival horror game's sequel, Sons Of The Forest. Previously due on the 20th of May, it's now expected in October. Developers Endnight Games offer the usual reason: they want more time to make it good, yeah? I'm fine with waiting a while for more wonderful unpleasantness.

Patrick's Parabox review: a super smart puzzler of infinite depth

2 years 1 month ago

The four-sided heroes of Patrick's Parabox and Wilmot's Warehouse would be great friends, I think. They both specialise in the placement and movement of boxes, and they both share the same cheery disposition. Sure, Patrick may not have the same pointy nose or cheeky smile of his mate Wilmot, but the way his eyes rove from side to side as he wiggles to the beat of Priscilla Snow's meditative and upbeat electronic soundtrack is surely a sign of someone who is truly in love with what they do.

If anything, I reckon Wilmot would be a wee bit jealous of Patrick. You see, in Patrick's line of work, his cubes contain multitudes, to misquote that famous Walt Whitman line. As long as they're resting against a hard surface, cubes can be packed into other cubes in Patrick's Parabox like a stack of matryoshka dolls. They can also be unpacked in the same way, allowing him to navigate the tight constraints of his respective puzzle arenas with surprising dexterity. It's like he's discovered the TARDIS of sokoban-style cube-pushing, if you will, and cor, just imagine what Wilmot could do with such technology. That warehouse would be immaculate.

Pokémon Characters Make For Some Terrific Needle Felting

How Elden Ring's Silliest Memes Get Lost in Translation

2 years 1 month ago

Bretwulfo kept stumbling across a message that will be familiar to anyone who’s played Elden Ring: “Try finger, but hole.” At this point, many players would probably roll their eyes at finding yet another use of the game’s messaging system to graffiti crude humour across FromSoft’s incredible fantasy world. The problem was that Bretwulfo is Brazilian, and plays the game in Portuguese – that oft-seen message simply does not translate the same way.

“I was always plunging into holes thinking there was going to be something in it,” Bretwulfo says. “I only got what it was supposed to mean after someone placed it on the ass of a corpse.”

For players who don’t speak English as their first language, Elden Ring’s many meme-messages can be far more of a troll than they were ever intended to be – and English-speaking players may well be getting just as confused by some international equivalents.

For players who don’t speak English as their first language, Elden Ring’s many meme-messages can be far more of a troll than they were ever intended to be.

“Try finger, but hole”; “Fort, night”; “Dog”; these are just some of the many memes that the English-speaking Elden Ring community have been flooding the game’s messaging system with over the last month. While they might seem like strange phrases in isolation, they’re a product of the game’s communications being restricted by design. You can’t just freely write whatever you want in Elden Ring and stamp it outside some boss fog. Everyone has the same limited number of phrases to choose from, all of which can be cleverly combined to help or hinder fellow Tarnished (it’s usually hinder).
