Falling in love with the Nintendo 3DS 10 years late

2 years 10 months ago

The 3DS apparently released on my birthday in 2011. While I sat in a pub with a gruesomely sticky carpet and drank Strongbow with my friends, people in Japan shuffled, rather than ran, to buy Nintendo's latest offering, which would reach the West about a month later. I had to look that up, because just like on the day of its release, the 3DS passed me by entirely, released during a time when my relationship with videogames was as much like my relationship with money and consumer products on the whole - occasionally complicated, mostly non-existent.

Fast forward 10 years later, where people talk to me about videogames every day, and not having a 3DS suddenly felt like a genuine oversight, not because of FOMO, but because people who know my taste would not stop saying things like "You will love Ghost Trick" or "You should really play Fire Emblem Awakening", and while I shrugged them off, wary of spending even more of my money on games, these recommendations lingered, if only for how often they were repeated.

Eventually, a friend lent me their 3DS, and that broke the dam - not because of the games so much as this small, cute thing - a genuine handheld that even occasionally fits into a woman's trouser pocket, and it's whimsical by design. I know the quotes about Nintendo's philosophy being that of a toy maker first, game company second are so worn they've got calluses, but I think I never really understood what that meant when not applied to an experimental product like Nintendo Labo or playing tennis with Wiimotes.

"Due to your feedback, we're permanently turning on the ability to play multiple of the same Hero during matchmaking and when forming Strike Teams," the development team confirmed in a blog post, (thanks, TheGamer).

Lost Judgment for PS5, Xbox Series X & More Introduces Akihiro Ehara & His Actor In English Video

2 years 10 months ago

Today Sega released another video in English of a series dedicated to the characters of Judgment sequel Lost Judgment.

The video introduces Akihiro Ehara, played by Ken Mitsuishi. He used to be an active police officer, but he was caught red-handed for molesting a man on a train and he was arrested on a platform of Shinjuku Station while trying to run away.

His violent reaction during the arrest was widely reported setting the public opinion on fire due to his position as a policeman. After two months in court, he was found guilty. Yet, he laughed at the judge while talking about a decomposing body that was found in Yokohama.

The body belonged to a man who had driven Ehara’s son to suicide and “deserved to die.” The murder happened on the very day in which Ehara was arrested. As a result, he had a strong motive for the murder, but his own arrest proved his alibi.

“While being sentenced for a crime he has been found guilty for, Ehara makes the shocking announcement that he knows the whereabouts of a murder victim’s body in a different location…”

Lost Judgment releases globally on Sept. 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, & Xbox One.

Marvel Future Revolution Gets New Trailer Showing Captain America’s Costumes

2 years 10 months ago

Marvel released another new trailer of the upcoming “AAA” open-world mobile game Marvel Future Revolution developed by Netmarble.

The trailer is, as usual, very brief, but it provides a look at one of the game’s most outed selling points, which is character customization. Here we take a look at the costumes Captain America can wear and some of the color variations.

You can check it out below.

At the moment, there is no relese date for Marvel Future Revolution, but we know that it’s coming for iOS and android.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, which wouldn’t be surprising considering the year of silence between its announcement and the latest string of reveals, it’s a mobile multiplayer open-world RPG for iOS and Android.

The story is about the “Convergence,” a multiverse catastrophe in which universes collide, which means that we’ll be able to play plenty of versions of beloved superheroes.

The players become members of Omega Flight based in New Stark City, which is the universe’s last line of defense. Basically, it’s a group of heroes that came together from multiple realities to defend the universe.
