Assassin's Creed Valhalla Players Are Making Easy Opals By Killing Dummies

3 years 5 months ago

Assassin's Creed Valhalla features a dynamic world to explore, filled with all manner of danger and mystery. If you're looking to start a fight and make some coin in the process, the Thousand Eyes merchants are happy to hand out contracts that will reward players with Opals that can be used to buy rare gear and exotic cosmetics.

Many of these contracts revolve around a simple formula of being sent to assassinate an unlucky target: one who is usually near your location. A new bug around these contracts has risen up though, and it's allowing players to easily bank some Opals in the process. In the Ravensthorpe settlement that Eivor calls home, you're able to grab contracts from the head of the Thousand Eyes, Reda.

The bug that players are encountering is that the nearby training dummies being marked as the guilty culprits that Eivor needs to kill, each one having committed a particular crime that needs to be punished with a lethal injection of steel to the neck.

Star Citizen Reveals New RSI Perseus Ship & Its Big Guns as Crowdfunding Passes $329 Million

3 years 5 months ago

Today Cloud Imperium Games opened the RSI hall in Star Citizen’s Intergalactic Aerospace Expo and revealed a new ship.

The newcomer to the Star Citizen universe is a rather massive 100 meters-long gunship armed with four massive size-seven guns in two turrets above and below its rather sleek hull that feels pretty much designed to ram through enemy ships. It even comes with additional gatlings for self-defense against smaller ships and torpedoes for helping with the ripping through those bigger ones.

As all big ships, it isn’t cheap, with its cost starting at $600. That being said, it’s worth mentioning that all Star Citizen ships will be available to purchase in-game with credits you earn by playing and this isn’t flyable just yet, so no one should feel particularly compelled to spend real money on this unless their primary goal is to support the game’s development.

Below you can check out a new trailer about the reveal and a few images of the Perseus.

SoulCalibur VI Brings Back Hwang as New DLC Character Alongside New Tekken Costume Parts & More

3 years 5 months ago

During the Western European open tournament of the SoulCalibur VI Online Challenge, Bandai Namco revealed the next DLC character.

This time around the character is an old friend coming back from the shadows of SoulCalibur III, Hwang Seong-gyeong.

Interestingly, he appears masked and his identity is revealed only later in the announcement trailer, even if I doubt most fans had much doubts since the first few frames.

You can check him out in action in the trailer below.

Together with Hwang, who will be featured in DLC 13, DLC 14 will also release on the same date, December 2.

DLC 14 will be the Character Creation Set F, including new costume parts from Tekken.

A free content update coming at the same time will include the new Motien Pass Ruins stage, Seong Mi-na’s classic costume, and new episodes for Mitsurugi and Nightmare.

PS5 Users May Be Getting Banned for Selling PS Plus Collection to PS4 Owners

3 years 5 months ago
The PlayStation Plus Collection is a perk for PS5 owners that gives them access to 20 of the best PS4 games. However, some are exploiting a loophole that allows them sell and unlock these games for PS4 owners. As reported by VGC, auction sites like eBay have multiple listings of people offering the chance for them to log on to a buyer's PSN account, unlock the PlayStation Plus Collection games on PS4, and then logging out. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/16/playstation-plus-collection-trailer"] There are certain users that have sold this service to over 20 people, but it appears that Sony may be banning them for doing so. As VGC points out, it also may be because Sony has been known to ban people who log into a high number of users accounts in one day as a protection against fraud, but it's pretty safe to say Sony didn't intend for this to be an option. According to users on A9VG, certain user's bans are said to be for two months and the PS5 consoles involved are permanently being blocked from network services. The PlayStation Plus Collection includes such first-party games as God of War, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, as well as some from third-party partners like Monster Hunter: World, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition, and Persona 5. We could get a new Final Fantasy XIV expansion announcement as soon as February 2021

3 years 5 months ago

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has somehow managed to basically get better with every expansion: I don't know how Naoki "Yoshi P" Yoshida and his team do it.

While many MMOs are content with braving severe ups and downs, XIV has remained consistently mesmerizing through its lengthy (seven years running) lifetime as A Realm Reborn. It'll probably stay that way as long as Yoshida is in charge. That includes the next expansion, which could be announced on February 5, 2021 at 5:30PM PT, according to a new tweet from Square Enix.

There's a lot to unpack here.

Final Fantasy 14's next major patch comes out 8th December

3 years 5 months ago

Final Fantasy 14's next major patch comes out 8th December, Square Enix has announced.

Patch 5.4, titled Futures Rewritten, starts a new chapter in the story following the finale of the Shadowbringers main scenario questline.

Of note: the patch introduces the PC and PlayStation MMO's own take on the Emerald Weapon from Final Fantasy 7. Fans of that game will remember Emerald Weapon as a superboss who roamed around the bottom of the sea in the legendary JRPG. Hands-up if you couldn't resist the temptation to pilot the submarine into the thing the first time you saw it, triggering a fight, and then died? Just me?

Is Flying in Star Citizen Actually Fun and Exciting?

3 years 5 months ago

As someone who has followed Star Citizen since its inception, I’m often asked a very relevant question: is it actually fun and exciting to fly in the game?

After all, as a space sim based on spaceships, flying is certainly a large part of the experience.

As with anything that has to do with personal feelings like “fun,” the answer isn’t entirely cut and dry. It depends on what you’re flying, where, and even how.

The shortest (personal, of course) answer is certainly yes, flying in Star Citizen can be very fun and exciting, as you can see in the quick and dirty video below.

There aren’t many frills here, no cuts, and no fancy camera work. What you see is literally what you get in an Anvil Arrow fighter.

Now, for the longer answer.

Flying in Star Citizen can be exciting depending on a series of parameters. As I mentioned above.

Light fighters and racing ships can be very exciting to fly, especially if you’re into pushing the envelope. The flight model has gone through several iterations and lately, I find it has become really gratifying. I could go for even faster atmospheric flight, but that’d likely increase the challenge considerably, so it’s more a matter of personal taste.

In the midst of this chaotic, late-2020 world, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the most comforting game I’ve found by far. Yakuza games have always offered wildly captivating plots, ridiculous combat systems, and endless opportunities for digital tourism, but I’m mostly finding Like a Dragon such a great source of joy…

PlayStation classic SaGa Frontier getting the remastered treatment next summer

3 years 5 months ago

One of the great things about being Square Enix is it has such a rich and diverse history of RPGs from the NES, SNES, and PlayStation eras it can pull from when it wants to remaster a classic. Case in point, SaGa Frontier. Originally released for the PlayStation back in 1997, the seventh game in the SaGa franchise will have a chance to find a brand new audience when SaGa Frontier Remastered hits Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam, iOS, and Android next summer.

Not only will this remaster bring the original game into the HD era, but it's also adding some features, like new cutscenes and events and a new protagonist named Fuse. It's nice to see Square Enix really giving the SaGa series a second chance. As a reminder, the first three games in the series, Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend, come to Nintendo Switch next month.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4-PS5 and Xbox One-Xbox Series X/S Cross-Saves Detailed

3 years 5 months ago
If you begin Cyberpunk 2077 on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will be able to bring your save with you to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, respectively. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red detailed the steps needed to ensure your saves will transfer with you to your next-gen console, and they vary slightly between the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/19/cyberpunk-2077-the-final-preview"]

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4-PS5 Cross-Save

As long as you are using the same PlayStation account, you will be able to pick up your game save on PS5 right where you've left on PS4. There are three different options to transfer your saves, and they are as follows;
  1. Connect to your PlayStation Plus account and upload your saves
  2. Transfer your data via LAN cable or wireless connection (WiFi)
  3. Use a compatible storage device to copy and transfer your saves to the same PSN account on PlayStation 5.

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One-Xbox Series X/S Cross-Save

It's a bit easier on the Xbox side of things with cross-save, as Smart Delivery "allows you to continue playing the game on Xbox Series X/S from where you’ve left off on the Xbox One." As long as your are connected to the internet so your saved data can be uploaded to the cloud, your save will transfer seamlessly and will be ready when you start Cyberpunk 2077 on your new next-gen system. If you need another option, you can also "connect both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S to the same network and use the system network transfer option." Microsoft Flight Simulator – Sankt Johann Airport Add-On Looks Charmingly Bucolic in New Trailer

3 years 5 months ago

Today the good folks at third-party add-on developer Gaya Simulations released a new trailer showing the upcoming Sankt Johann Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The trailer provides a good look at the small airport in Austria (ICAO LOIJ) that will be released on December 5 on Orbx Central and “slightly afterward” on the official marketplace in MIcrosoft Flight Simulator.

Alongside Zell Am See, Innsbruck, Wien, and Salzburg, which are already available, it’s another nice way to explore the beauty of Tirol and the Austrian Alps.

It’s one of my favorite locations to fly, so I’m going to keep an eye on this one.

In the meanwhile, you can check out the trailer below.

During a livestreamed event earlier this week, the developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator shared a lot of details about the future of the sim, including the next world update focusing on the United Kingdom.

Saga Frontier Remastered Announced; Releasing in 2021

3 years 5 months ago

Square Enix made a surprise announcement this morning with the reveal of SaGa Frontier Remastered, an updated version of the 1998 RPG on PS1. According to Square’s official Twitter post, SaGa Frontier Remastered will include “updated graphics, events, cutscenes, enhancements (and a new protagonist!)”.

While the original SaGa Frontier was not the first entry in the SaGa series, it was the first to make its way to the US under the SaGa banner. The original game was unique in that it allowed players to play as one of seven protagonists with different backgrounds and techniques. The “Free Scenario System” allowed players to tackle the story in a non-linear fashion which was a bit unorthodox at the time.

This is not the first SaGa game to receive a remaster as of late. The Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy was just announced this past August, collecting the Game Boy Final Fantasy Legend trilogy. The collection was released with a number of enhancements such as a fast-forward toggle, screen magnification, and other customization options. A remaster of Romancing SaGa 3 was announced late last year and was the first time that western players could get their hands on the game.

SaGa Frontier Remastered is set for release in 2021 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS and Android.

First of all, Artfx J revealed the prototype of another figure portraying Minami Natsuno and the little robot BJ. This isn’t the same figure revealed a little while ago by FREEing.

Microsoft Flight Simulator to Get VR Support in December 2020

3 years 5 months ago
Microsoft Flight Simulator will get VR support on December 22, 2020, and a substantial UK World Update will be ready on January 26, 2021. Revealed during an official Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Q&A on Twitch, VR will be added in the free Sim Update 2 for all the big VR headsets, including those from Oculus and Valve. Furthermore, the VR experience will include both the gameplay and menus, offering a smooth and immersive experience throughout. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/17/microsoft-flight-simulator-review"] World Update 3, on the other hand, will create a more accurate rendition of the UK using new data and aerial images for England, Scotland, and Wales. There will also be 50-60 new points of interest, including new landmarks and procedural buildings, and improvements to certain existing airports like Land's End, Liverpool EGGP and Manchester Baron. There will be new challenges and a new flight as well. Improvements to the Northern Ireland region is part of Asobo's plan, but it may not be ready for World Update 3. The UK World Update follows similar ones for Japan and the U.S., and will further improve the already impressive map of the world that players can fly around. Additionally, Asobo said it will be returning to the U.S.
