Hunters eagerly anticipating the arrival of formidable black dragon Alatreon in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne's fourth free update next month will, unfortunately, have a little longer to wait; Capcom has announced a delay for the update due to coronavirus-related development issues.
Alatreon's arrival in Iceborne was initially teased at the start of the year, when Capcom hinted that players could look forward to the return of a "fan-favourite" creature as part of the expansion's post-launch roadmap. It later confirmed the formidable, elemental-shifting black dragon - first introduced in Monster Hunter 3 - would make its Iceborne debut in May.
Now, however, Capcom says its May update - the fourth free title update to be released for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - has been postponed to a (currently unannounced) future date due to "coronavirus related impacts on production". It also notes that voiceover production has been affected, meaning that when the update finally does arrive, Italian, Spanish, and French voice work will be replaced with "simplified recordings".
Physical distancing is necessary to keep our communities safe and healthy, yeah, but it sure is making us all a lot lonelier. Microsoft revealed its Games with Gold lineup for May 2020, and good luck trying to come up with a common thread between them. They're all playable on Xbox One consoles? Their titles all contain the letter "R"? Eh, forget it.
The offerings include the Xbox One games V-Rally 4 (available from May 1-31) and Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr (available May 16-June 15). On the Xbox 360 front, you get Sensible World of Soccer (from May 1-15) and Overlord II (May 16-31).
Games with Gold benefits are available to all Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
With the start of the Battle Armor limited-time event and with Apex Legends Season 5 about to begin, Respawn has returned to its crafty ways on Twitter. Much like the tease of leviathan movement ahead of Season 2: Battle Charge, mysteriously hacked tweets containing secrets messages prior to Season 3: Meltdown, and manufactured media craze ahead of Season 4: Assimilation, Respawn has begun to use Twitter to hint at what could be coming in Season 5.
Interestingly enough, this hint actually ties back to Season 4 and Revenant's introduction. Back when it wasn't clear whether Forge or Revenant was joining the Apex Games, the Apex Legends Twitter account posted leaked emails that confirmed Season 4's new character would be the nightmarish simulacrum. This latest Season 5 hint is once again those exact emails, but now the leaked image of them is pulled back--revealing post-it notes on the monitor display.

Throughout Destiny 2's current content season, the Season of the Worthy, one gun has been a mainstay in the game's competitive mode: Hard Light. Thanks to tweaks to auto rifles at the start of the season and the gun's unique perks, it's been the go-to weapon in the Crucible for weeks. That might be about to change, however, thanks to an upcoming patch.
Developer Bungie previewed the update it plans to release on April 29, Hotfix 2.8.1.1, on its blog. The patch is set to tweak Hard Light to make it a little less deadly in PvP. Right now, Hard Light is a mainstay of competitive play for a couple of reasons: it's highly stable, making it very accurate at long ranges for PC players and its bullets can ricochet off walls--and when they do, those bullets do double damage.
Hard Light also currently lacks damage falloff, a major perk over other weapons. Falloff is the reduction in damage for Destiny's bullets the farther they travel; most auto rifles can have their damage reduced by half at longer ranges, but not Hard Light. That has resulted in lots of players using Hard Light in the Crucible and the Trials of Osiris, landing long-range kills and taking out opponents around corners. At the moment, Hard Light is so dominant that not using it puts you at something of a disadvantage.
Continue Reading at GameSpotThe season pass for Assassin's Creed Odyssey is currently on sale via the Xbox Store. If you're looking to catch up on the Assassin's Creed story ahead of the new 2020 game, rumored to be set in The Viking Age, now seems like an ideal time.
Normally retailing at $40 USD, Odyssey's season pass is currently 50 percent off on the Xbox Store, knocking the price down to $20 USD. The sale will last until May 4.
Odyssey's season pass includes all of the post-launch content for the 2018 action RPG. That's the two (admittedly throwaway) Secrets of Greece side missions, as well as all of the episodes for the controversial Legacy of the First Blade and mythical The Fate of Atlantis DLC expansions. Legacy of the First Blade details how the story of Odyssey ultimately connects to Assassin's Creed Origins while The Fate of Atlantis furthers the modern-day story with Layla.

In addition to Jedi: Fallen Order, some of EA's best PC games of the last decade are discounted below $5. This includes The Sims 4, some fantastic shooters, and much more. Each game is available as a digital copy that can be redeemed via Origin.
Last year's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently 50% off at $30. Set five years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Fallen Order is an engaging action-adventure game starring Cal Kestis, a young Jedi living in the aftermath of the Great Jedi Purge. In GameSpot's Jedi: Fallen Order review, critic Phil Hornshaw scored it an 8/10. He said, "It's true that Fallen Order borrows liberally from other action games, but those elements work together with Respawn's combat and environment design, and a story that finds humanity in the Force and in its characters, to hone in on what makes the world of Star Wars worthy of revisiting again and again."
DICE is putting the final touches on Star Wars Battlefront II's Battle on Scarif update, and when it goes live on April 29, 2020, it'll seemingly be the last of its kind. In a blog post today, Battlefront II creative director Dennis Brännvall spoke about the next "phase" of the game now that their "vision" has been "realized": ongoing server support and maintenance, and a stark shift away from content updates.
They're pulling the bandage off. It's been a wild, meandering, mostly-back-on-track ride.
"Looking beyond April, we're transitioning to a phase where the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events such as Double XP and more, and game support will carry this broad and rich Star Wars gaming experience into the future," Brännvall said. "This means that we're moving away from delivering regular content updates. I'm really proud of what we've accomplished, and continue to accomplish, together."

The next Battlefield game is coming in 2021, developer DICE has confirmed. In a statement to IGN, the Swedish studio said that, with support for Star Wars: Battlefront II and Battlefield V winding down, it is "focused on the future of Battlefield" for a new game set for release in 2021.
This new Battlefield game was announced in October 2019, at which time publisher Electronic Arts said the game would launch in the company's fiscal year 2022, which runs from April 2021 to March 2022. Now we know a more specific launch period--sometime in 2021.
EA hasn't shared any concrete details about the new Battlefield game, but it did tease that the title will be "targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms."

Scrap Mechanic, developer Axolot Games enormously enjoyable vehicle construction sandbox game, is finally getting its extremely long-awaited Survival mode next month, on 7th May, and there's a first look at its more structured hijinks in a brand-new trailer.
Scrap Mechanic initially entered Steam early access in 2016, and delivered a pleasingly flexible multiplayer sandbox experience built around the idea of constructing elaborate machines, be they vehicles or other oddities, from a core selection of building blocks and some surprisingly powerful tools - including the likes of pistons, thrusters, sensors, logic gates, and engines.
It's grown tremendously since its inception, introducing a whole range of new gadgets and elements to muck around with, but its long-promised (and only occasionally glimpsed) Survival mode has remained elusive for far too long.

Today Sega revealed a new AC Scratch collection coming to the western version of Phantasy Star Online 2.
The title is “Crimson Dawn” and it comes with all kinds of draconic and dark-themed outfits.
This includes outerwear, basewear, innerwear, CAST parts, accessories, emotes, and consumables.
If you’re unfamiliar with AC Scratch, that’s basically the game’s “surprise mechanics” (I had to use this definition in an article sooner or later) that you can get through tickets purchased with Arks Cash.
You can see what’s in store in the trailer below.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available in the west for Xbox One, while the PC version is coming in May.
That being said, Phil Spencer himself went on record mentioning that the game will likely make it to other platforms, even if no further information was shared on that topic.
