In today's contest you can win Carrion for Switch or Steam!
Well, this game sure it gross! Carrion hit digital storefronts last week, and like with most Devolver Digital joints, it's a weird one. So wrap your fleshy tentacles around a Switch or Steam copy while you still can!

Earlier today, Rabbit & Bear Studios launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The funding goal has just been reached.
The Tokyo-based studio asked $500,000 as a basic goal, and backers shattered it predictably fast. To be specific, it was reached in 130 minutes.
The process would have likely been faster if Kickstarter didn’t crash multiple times. We don’t know whether this is due to the backer traffic for Eiyuden Chronicle, but it’s possible.
This shouldn’t surprise considering that the game brings back together Suikoden creators Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano, and appears to be a spiritual successor of the popular franchise.
The basic Kickstarter goal earns us a PC version of the game slated for the fall of 2022.
Of course, this is far from the end of it, as there is one more month to add further funding to the project. Two stretch goals have already been announced, with $750,000 unlocking the Fortress Mode and $1,000,000 bringing the console versions (PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and a hypothetical successor of the Switch).
Considering the pace at which backers are chewing through the numbers, I have a feeling this isn’t the last time I write news about this game today.
The Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter opened and will run until August 28, 2020. If it can raise $1 million, the game will come to consoles.

I’m running out of things to do on my quarantine bucket list, so it’s time to reach to the furthest depths and pull out something I’ve been afraid to touch all my life: the guitar.
Bloober Team's The Medium is serving up scares months before it officially launches. Anyone with an outdated rig is going to find themselves cowering in fear at the sight of these Medium PC requirements.
The Medium is low-key going to be one of the Xbox Series X's technical showcases, as its hook is that it renders two worlds on-screen at the same time. This is probably the reason we're seeing some inflated PC specs. It's a game that asks a lot of the hardware.
Curiously, the official specs don't mandate an SSD (which is a linchpin feature of the next generation of consoles). Instead, it recommends one but it isn't absolutely necessary. The day is coming where we see a next-gen game that requires an SSD. Today isn't that day.
Instead, it seems as if RAM and VRAM do a lot of the heavy lifting. The GPU specs are pretty beefy, especially for anyone who wants to run The Medium with ray tracing on. The RAM requirements hit 16GB at the middle tier of settings, but that's becoming closer and closer to the norm at this point.
Here are the minimum, medium (ha!), and recommended PC specs for The Medium:

Not even two months after launching, Disintegration is giving away its story mode for free. That is, provided you're willing to dedicate a good chunk of the weekend to beating it.
Disintegration will be free this weekend on all platforms (PC, PS4, Xbox One) without any sort of gates other than your personal freetime. It's the full game, and the free period runs from Thursday, July 30 until Monday, August 3. That's more than enough time to clear the campaign which clocks in somewhere around 10 hours.
That's probably by design. In his review, Chris noted that the campaign was fine enough but that it felt like an "appetizer" for the multiplayer mode. It seems likely that developer V1 Interactive is simply using the campaign to familiarize people with the game, hoping that the multiplayer has hooks to keep them around.
If that tactic works, Disintegration will be 40 percent off on all platforms. If you're left underwhelmed -- hey, at least you got a free, new campaign out of it.
Here's the breakdown of start/stop times by platform:

Looks like Valve are rolling out a way to play games in beta, or a purpose-built way to do so at any rate. A new button for requesting access to a playtest has appeared over on the store page for the Hearthstone-looking card game Total War: Elysium. It appears to be the first so far, though more may follow.
Ghost of Tsushima gets patch 1.05 today, adding some serious new options for players to dive into. First, if you want harder difficulty, it's coming in the form of a new difficulty option - Lethal. On lethal, enemies are deadlier, more aggressive, and spot you faster. In addition, the windows for dodging and parrying are less forgiving.
On the other end of options, a lower intensity combat mode is available. This setting makes combat less timing-intensive. This mode can help make the game much more accessible for players, with a smattering of more forgiving elements to combat - see the full list here.
Finally, are you tired of squinting at the screen? Large text option is here!

In a moment of self-reflection where we all just turn to dust, Blizzard has reminded everyone that today is the 10th anniversary of StarCraft II. There's a beefy 5.0 patch to celebrate the occasion.
Most of the anniversary update has to do with expanding the Galaxy Map Editor – expect lots of nitty-gritty features and better support for custom campaigns – but there are a few other things to bring up. There's a countdown timer in Versus matches once players have loaded in, a Prestige progression system for co-op Commanders to unlock talents, and new Campaign achievements for "all 83 missions."
I'm most excited about the latter – if nothing else, as a predominantly solo-focused RTS player, I adore Blizzard's mission designs. I always had to fight the urge to replay levels as soon as I finished them.
If you manage to earn every 10th anniversary achievement, you'll unlock the Stone announcer in StarCraft II. "These achievements can be earned on any difficulty above Normal. However, they are designed to be scalable and are possible, though extremely challenging, on even Brutal."
If you're not up to that commitment, you'll still get something new for showing up. You can unlock the White-Ra announcer just by logging into the game between July 27 and August 10, 2020.
The team is also planning to run down the "10 greatest games in StarCraft II esports" starting this week.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is somewhat of a combination of a battle royale (60 players) and a party game. Dash through doors, get dizzy through spinning obstacles, avoid slime, and participate in dozens of different games as you aim to be the last fall guy standing. You can also play with your friends, but be aware - only one player can be crowned the winner! Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available to download on August 4.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered needs no introduction - it's a classic campaign from the shooter franchise. If you've never had a chance to play it, now is probably a good time with the enhanced textures. animations, and more. You can download this one tomorrow on July 28!

Pre-orders will open for the Analogue Pocket, a handheld console that plays Nintendo cartridges and other platforms, on Aug. 3.
The Pocket is a portable handheld console that plays actual Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance game cartridges. The console also works with other cartridge adapters, which makes it compatible with other systems such as Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Atari Lynx.
The hardware uses no emulation for the games, and contains a 3.5”, 615 ppi, LCD screen with a resolution of 1600×1440 and made from Gorilla Glass. The system can be charged with a USB-C cable and features a rechargeable lithium ion battery that promises six to 10 hours of gameplay.
There is an optional dock for the Pocket that connects it to any HDTV to play games on a bigger screen. Controllers can be hooked up to the dock by wired USB or wireless with 8BitDo Bluetooth or 2.4g controllers for up to four players.
The Pocket can also be used as a synthesizer and sequencer for creating music, and can connect to PC, Mac, or other hardware with MIDI and Sync cables.
The Analogue company announced several changes to the handheld since its 2019 reveal such as sleep and wake functions, a display mode for Game Boy games in classic detail, an FPGA developer program, accessories, and more.
The Analogue Pocket comes in black or white and costs $199.99 for the system and a USB-C cable. Pre-orders open on Monday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. ET, and the system is expected to ship in May 2021.

The second episode of The Sims Spark’d kicked off with some more drama and wrapped up some rivalry with teamwork. If you missed our recap of the first episode and what the show is about, check it out here.
Team Freezer Bunny was eliminated in episode 1, leaving the new challenges with Team Gnome, Team Llama, and Team Cowplant. The excitement to win $100,000 feels even more intense now that there are only a few teams left, and the way that the contestants come together in this episode leaves us feeling like they are getting more serious about winning.
In episode 2, they are each faced with a challenge in which they must create a story depicting three separate stages of a Sim’s childhood.
Team Gnome kept up the great teamwork, surprising the judges with an emotional story from Plumbella. Team Llama hit off with some more awkward moments and drama between Xmiramira and DrGluon, leading to another loss with the initial challenge. Team Cowplant presented a story about gender identity struggles, leading to their win.
The second challenge was to create a story video using three Sims packs. With Cowplant getting first place and Gnome following up, the two teams entered the second challenge with first pick of the packs.
That didn’t stop Team Llama from finally coming together and creating the winning video, however, leaving the judges happily surprised.
Ghost of Tsushima receives a few game-changing options in a new update today. The 1.05 patch will include a new difficulty level, a new combat accessibility setting, and some additional options for the game’s text.
Two very different games will be available via PlayStation Plus in August: the gritty Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, and the colourful Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
Perhaps in celebration of the fact the unannounced Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War has leaked via a packet of Doritos, the single-player portion of Modern Warfare 2 will be available for Plus members from tomorrow, 28th July 28th until 31st August.
This is the standalone story mode for Treyarch's top-notch shooter which released with shinier visuals earlier this year (and yes, the notorious No Russian level is still included).
Sucker Punch is also making the game’s subtitle text a little bigger
There's plenty of dogs to be found around Skyrim, but where are the cats? That's something that several mods have sought to fix over the years, yet the latest introduces some more complicated adoption and needs systems to make sure you're furry immersed.
Having been in development since 2018, A Cat's Life is a mod by Darkfox127 releasing on 1st August for both Legendary and Special Edition Skyrim. The mod allows players to adopt cats from most major cities, but things aren't quite as straightforward as just asking: some of the stray cats need to be convinced. You can observe cats to see whether they are friendly, then improve relations by offering food or going in for a pet. Be warned, however, that the latter is a risky strategy that can result in some scratches.
An easier route is to simply buy a feline from one of the two rival pet stores added by the mod (complete with new characters and voice acting). You can technically buy all the cats in the stores, but you can only have five cats follow you in total - otherwise you would probably become some sort of feline pied piper. The mod does provide a perk called "crazy cat person", although exactly what this does - or how you achieve it - is a bit of a mystery.
We may still be coaxing strand man Sam across the United States in Death Stranding, but Kojima Productions are already looking forward to the next strand of their game development plans. As announced a few days ago, Rabbit & Bear Studios just launched the Kickstarter campaign for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
The campaign asks for $500,000 as a base goal and will last for a month until August 28.
Of course, there are stretch goals. The Fortress Mode will come at $750,000, while $1,000,000 will unlock the console versions.
The release window is marked as fall 2022 for PC.
The console versions that would be offered if the stretch goal is met are PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and a generic “Nintendo Next-Generation Console” which means whatever console Nintendo will have out in over two years when the game launches. It could still be the Switch if none is released in time. If a Switch version proves impossible due to the cost of downporting the game to the platform, the affected backers will be refunded.
Below you can watch the dedicated trailer and music samples by Motoi Sakuraba and Procyon Studio respectively.
PlayStation has confirmed that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered are the free games for PS Plus subscribers in August.
Modern Warfare 2 Remastered released as a timed exclusive on PS4 earlier in the year but will now come to the subscription service as leaks for this year’s new Call of Duty title begin to ramp up.
The remastered version of the classic shooter only includes the campaign though. There is no multiplayer component, so don’t be disappointing when you find out that it’s not included.
The second game, Fall Guys, is available for free to PS Plus subscribers from the day it launches. The slapstick multiplayer game should be the perfect PlayStation Plus title as it’ll fill the lobbies with new players eager to jump into the action that’s inspired by classic game shows like Takeshi’s Castle.
Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will be available from July 28 until August 31, while Fall Guys will be available from August 4, which is the day it launches.
It’s also worth nothing that claiming the free version of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will not get you access to the Ghost UTD Bundle in Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone. You’ll have to buy the paid version to unlock the skins that are included in the pack.
The reveal of the new games also means you only have a few days left to claim July’s free PS Plus games, which were NBA2K20, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Erica.

Birthdays. They only come once a year, so obviously you want to do something special to celebrate them. Many of us really want to make an event out of commemorating the date we came into being. Be it a small gathering with a handful of your closest friends, dinner with the family, or drinking far too much at a black metal concert.
Well, maybe that last one is just me.
Either way, we decided to help one of our beloved Twitch streamers, Dreezy, celebrate his birthday in style! On August 1 at 10:30PM, he'll be meeting up with long-time community manager and reviewer of all things Gundam, Mike Sounders (also known as Torchman to many folks on this site) to play the brand new Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme vs Maxiboost On.
Good lord, that title is a mouthful.
They'll be trialing its split-screen multiplayer features at one of Toronto's finest gaming bars, The Hive. Drinks may or may not be involved in the equation. Better yet, the entire event will be streamed live on our official Twitch channel!
Torchman and Dreezy will potentially be accompanied by Enthusiast Gaming (our parent company) CEO, Menashe Kestenbaum, better known as RavMenace to many of our Twitch viewers. Unless, of course, he decides that he has better things to do than to play Gundam with those two.
Will Torchman show up to the occasion wearing a full Turn A cosplay? Will Dreezy be in his birthday suit? The answer to both of these questions is "probably not," but it's sure to be a fun time, regardless.

Developer Snowcastle Games announced Earthlock 2 is now in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The sequel to the 2016 turn-based JRPG-styled game will instead be an open-world RPG with real-time combat. According to the press release, the game will feature “complex interlocking systems that work together to offer players extensive freedom to customise their own experience.”
“The Earthlock series is set on the planet of Umbra, which has stopped spinning on its axis, meaning half of the world is completely shrouded in darkness, while the other half is constantly baked in sunlight,” the game’s description reads. “Along the border in the middle, there is an area that gets the best of both worlds. The game’s story centres around a group of friends who must set out to find and rescue their missing family members.”
In a statement to IGN, Earthlock 2 will be using the Unreal Engine instead of the Unity engine used in the previous game as the sequel is “a much more ambitious project.”
Earthlock 2 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2022 for PC, current consoles, and next-generation consoles. The original Earthlock is currently on sale at Steam, Xbox Games Store, and Nintendo Switch eShop to celebrate the announcement.
