Hidden among the various E3 2021 presentations showing off wide swaths of games from developers and publishers, both major and independent, is a prominent fan site where folks have put together a show dedicated to one franchise and one franchise only: EarthBound.
Playground Games have announced Forza Horizon 5, the next instalment of their series of open-world racing games. Moving away from FH4's sunny British streets, FH5 will take players to actually-sunny Mexico. It's coming on November 9th, and you can catch the trailer from Microsoft and Bethesda's E3 showcase below. As always with these games, I'm a huge fan of the environments - it looks like they drive up to a volcano at the end!

The next game from the co-creator of Inside and Limbo is coming next year, Microsoft announced today during their Xbox and Bethesda Games E3 Showcase. And from the looks of things, it's got big Inside vibes.
We don’t get many dedicated snowboarding games anymore, which makes the newly announced Shredders a game worth watching if you're a fan of the sport. The upcoming extreme sports title debuted during the Microsoft + Bethesda E3 showcase and looks to be a faithful simulation of snowboarding that, as the game’s tagline describes, is “for riders, by riders”.
Shedders is described as being a love letter to snowboarding inspired not just by the sport but also snowboarding movies. Developer FoamPunch also states that the game draws inspiration from the Amped snowboarding series that began on the original Xbox. The premiere trailer didn’t have a ton of frills, just showing off some pure snowboarding gameplay, some of which is captured by an in-game camcorder. It also gives a glimpse of snowmobiles in action as well.

The Bethesda and Xbox showcase ended with a twist this evening, with the announcement of a brand-new game from Dishonored and Prey developer Arkane Studios.
Titled Redfall, the game is an open-world co-op shooter arriving in summer 2022. It's being developed by Arkane Austin, and judging by the trailer, it looks like it will feature... well, a lot of vampires and shooting.
While we don't yet know exactly what the gameplay will look like, it will feature co-op with up to four players. "Redfall blends single and multiplayer options seamlessly, allowing the player to venture into the darkness alone or to squad-up with up to three friends for four-player co-op", a Bethesda press release explained. "Teammates can try different hero loadouts and combine their strengths to overcome the vampire legion and their brood of maniacal followers."
Following the reveal at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase Microsoft revealed a press kit for the Xbox Series X|S version of Microsoft Flight Simulator with screenshots and information.
We get to see the inevitable aircraft porn in the new screenshots, and we learn a few useful facts about the Xbox version of the sim.
The pricing will be exactly the same as the PC version, $59.99 for the Standard Edition, $89.99 for the Deluxe Edition, and $119.99.
Of course, if you already purchased the PC version on Windows 10, you don’t need to buy it again, as it gives you access to the Xbox version as well when it releases on July 27. This is not valid if you purchased the sim on Steam.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is also included in Game Pass, so you don’t need to buy it if you’re a subscriber.
You can enjoy the screenshots below.
At today’s Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase, the “one more thing” happened to be a new title from Bethesda’s Arkane Studios. It’s an open-world, co-op first-person shooter that you can play by yourself or with up to three other friends. Redfall is an Xbox exclusive coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC summer 2022, and is slated to be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. The teaser trailer had plenty of campy horror vibes as an eclectic squad of survivors ends up scrapping with some serious vampire foes. The footage is below, so take a look before we dive into the rest.
Click here to watch embedded mediaThe town of Redfall (Hey, that’s the game name!) is a sleepy Massachusetts destination. That is until the vampires arrive. The vampire legions eclipse the sun, and then they start turning people into their minions or just downright consuming them. Yeah, the vampires are not really friendly. There’s also a cult that worships the vampires, and they’ll try to stop you too.

We got a vicious looking CG trailer of a group of vampire slayers take on a horde of nasty looking vamps, giving us an idea of what we can expect in the final product.
Xbox has provided a synopsis of their new exclusive.
The quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors against diabolical enemies threatening to bleed the town dry, choose your hero from a diverse roster, grouping up with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers.

Developer Asobo's jaw-droppingly beautiful Microsoft Flight Simulator finally has a console release date, and will be coming to Xbox Series X/S on 27th July.
Microsoft Flight Simulator received much praise when it launched on PC at the end of last year, in large part thanks to its utterly staggering rendition of the entire world - one that Asobo has continued to build on with regular free sim updates and visual overhauls for the likes of Japan, the United States, France, Benelux, the UK, and Ireland.
"From light planes to wide-body jets," explains Microsoft of its flight sim, "you'll test your piloting skills against the challenges of real-time weather, including accurate worldwide cloud cover and cloud layers, wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, rain, and lightning - all in a dynamic and living world. With the power of satellite data and cloud-based AI, you'll travel the entire planet in amazing detail with over 37,000 airports, 2 million cities, 1.5 billion buildings, real mountain ranges, roads, trees, rivers, animals, traffic, and more."
Microsoft is still running with the "Xbox Series X looks like a fridge" meme and will make and release an Xbox mini fridge in 2021.

When new consoles release, platform holders often look to racing games to showcase the power of the new systems. That's often been true in the past, with franchises like Project Gotham Racing and Gran Turismo, but so far, Xbox has only released a new-gen update for Forza Horizon 4. However, during today's Xbox Showcase at E3 2021, Playground Games revealed Forza Horizon 5, the next installment in its popular open-world racing franchise.
After Forza Horizon 3 took us to Australia and Horizon 4 brought us to the U.K., Forza Horizon 5 is stamping our passports for Mexico. Playground Games says this game features the largest, most diverse open world in series history. The studio touts the power of the Xbox Series X/S consoles as being so powerful that they can render every last, tiny detail in the world, right down to individual needles on cacti. Playground says its interpretation of Mexico is "honest, authentic, and filled with love." We see that as players speed through idyllic seaside towns, discover scenic waterfalls, barrel down desert highways, and race along rocky volcanoes. Playground Games used special HDR cameras to capture real footage of Mexican skies in a stunning 12K resolution. The photorealistic skies made possible by Xbox Series X/S results in dynamic lighting for more immersive visuals, as well as a new volumetric lighting system that accurately captures the humidity of settings like rainforests.

Sure, taking to battle in a fast-paced shooter is fun and all, but have you ever weaponized a tornado? The answer is probably no, but with Battlefield 2042 you can get your inner Shia LaBeouf on and not let your dreams be dreams. The next step for the Battlefield franchise uses cutting-edge technology and new generational hardware to push the sky to the limit. While many games boast that, Battlefield 2042 looks to truly live up to that promise. From a way higher player count to a perfect blend of new and familiar, the upcoming FPS is ready to take back the crown within the multiplayer space.
Battlefield 2042 sets the stage in the near future, in a world ravaged by the most profound refugee crisis known to man. Within this shooter, players will become something called No-Patriated, or No-Pats for short. No-Pats are farmers, engineers, soldiers - they are the survivors, they are the fighters that don’t fight for a flag. They fight for the future of the known world.

The Pitt arrives as an Expedition for Fallout 76. It's a free update that will, for the first time, take players outside of Appalachia. Expeditions are story driven, repeatable missions to various locales in the Fallout universe - starting with The Pitt in 2022. The trailer is below:

Sci-fi shooter Atomic Heart got a new 're-announcement' trailer this evening courtesy of Microsoft's Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase presentation. The supernatural post-apocalyptic shooter first burst onto the scene back in 2018 around the time Nvidia first revealed their ray tracing capable RTX 20 cards, and they kinda haven't stopped talking about it since. Despite the hype, though, Atomic Heart still isn't out yet, and sadly we aren't any the wiser this evening, either. Still, it sure looks pretty. Let's have a looksie at its 'new' trailer, shall we?
Today, during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase livestream, Mundfish showcased a new trailer of Atomic Heart.
The trailer showcases the game’s dystopian setting and a look at gameplay.
You can check it out below.
f you’re unfamiliar with the Atomic Heart, you can check out an official description below. It’s coming for PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC
“Atomic Heart is an adventure first-person shooter, events of which unfold in an alternative universe, during the high noon of the Soviet Union. The main character of the game is a special agent, who was sent to a highly secret object by the Soviet government after it went radio silent.
Soviet setting with a pitch of insanity, action-packed gameplay and a thrilling story will keep you entertained for the whole duration of your journey into the world of Atomic Heart.
Unfold the secrets, restore peace and order, and show the Motherland what you got!”
The remastered Diablo 2: Resurrected will finally spring back to life on 23rd September, for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
As we knew already, this refreshed version of the 20-year-old classic will also include its Lord of Destruction expansion. You'll also be able to swap back and forth between the game's up-to-4K resolution or original 800x600 look.
There will also be a Diablo Prime Evil Collection, containing Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3 Eternal Collection. Pre-order either and you'll get early access to the game's August open beta test on certain platforms.
I have watched the new Atomic Heart trailer three times now, and I am still no closer to understanding what exactly is going on in it than when I first began. It rules, though.
Forza Horizon 5 has been announced for PC, Xbox One and Series X, to launch on 9th November this year.

The Outer Worlds is officially getting a sequel in the form of The Outer Worlds 2, and Obsidian Entertainment has marked the occasion with tongue-in-cheek teaser trailer.
Streamed during the Microsoft and Bethesda E3 2021 press conference livestream held on June 13, the trailer pokes fun at how little of the game is actually ready to show. In fact, there isn’t any gameplay finished and ready to display by Obsidian’s own admission, and the trailer is entirely a joke meant to mock trailers in general.
It covers everything from the overused sound effects and trope-y scenes used in other trailers to elements which won’t make it into the final version of The Outerworlds 2 despite how much people may like it. To be sure though, it all looks quite good for a cinematic, and cutscenes of an equal quality would be welcome in the finished product.
Regardless, the trailer does confirm that the game is at least in development, and that fans of the series can look forward to hearing more about it in the future. However, nothing else is revealed in terms of which consoles the game will release on, what its general release window is, or anything else in those veins.
The full teaser in all its cheeky glory can be viewed down below.
