Death Stranding Memory Chip Location Guide: How To Get Fount Of Knowledge Achievement

3 years 10 months ago

Death Stranding has one main collectible in the form of memory chips. There are 56 total memory chips available to collect. You can donate memory chips to delivery terminals around the game world to upload and view their data. Restoring your first memory chip will grant you the trophy or achievement "A Thirst for Knowledge," while restoring all 56 memory chips will grant you the "Fount of Knowledge" trophy or achievement. You can come across most memory chips while exploring the world, but some have specific requirements to spawn, and many are just plain hard to find.

Here's where to find all 56 memory chip locations in Death Stranding, plus some tips on making your hunt for them easier. Check out our updated Death Stranding review for our impressions, plus thoughts on how it runs on PC.

How To Find Memory Chips

Memory chips are small, shiny objects that you will be able to spot by their distinct sparkle. A glowing blue memory chip icon will also mark their location both in-world and on the map. Memory chips will only show up as an icon on the map when other players have marked it. If you find one and it isn't marked on the map, do your fellow porters a favor and place a marker on it.

Overwatch adds orchestral flair (and a new skin) with Sigma's Maestro Challenge

3 years 10 months ago

Oh, to ditch Overwatch‘s crude gunfights for a night at the opera. To push culture, not payloads. Capture hearts and souls, not control points. Ah, well, the latest challenge event for Blizzard’s hero shooter might not be picking up a fiddle anything soon, but it will let you pretend you’re the sort of person who frequents the concert hall with Sigma’s Maestro Challenge – dressing up Overwatch’s gravity-defying egghead for orchestral bombast

When Does C.J. Visit In Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

3 years 10 months ago

Like Flick, the chipper C.J. is one of the many special visitors who will periodically stop by your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Whereas Flick will buy your bugs and craft bug models for you, C.J. is all about seasports, and he'll purchase any fish you're willing to sell at a higher price than you'd normally get at Nook's Cranny, making his visits a great chance to earn bells. But when exactly does C.J. show up, and how do you get fish models?

When Does C.J. Show Up?

Like most other Animal Crossing special visitors, there's no telling when C.J. will appear on your island; his visits are completely random, so you'll just need to check in every day and see if he's there. On average, however, you'll see him on your island at least every other week, and when he does show up, he'll be around for a full 24 hours, from 5 AM to 5 AM.

3 years 10 months ago

Hearthstone’s next expansion will be Scholomance Academy and it will be coming sometime this August, Blizzard revealed today. Scholomance Academy touts 135 new cards “brimming with spellbinding synergies.” Check out the trailer below.

The trailer is extremely upbeat and is giving me some Saturday morning cartoon vibes for some reason. Am I the only one?

This news is a part of the Year of the Phoenix in Hearthstone that was discussed earlier in the year which is designed to shake things up for the popular digital card game in 2020.

Here are the new features that will be added in Scholomance Academy that Blizzard was able to share as of today:

Get the most out of our magical curriculum with Dual-Class cards—the ultimate double major! NEW KEYWORD
Scholomance Academy introduces a new keyword: Spellburst, a one-time effect that triggers the next time you cast a spell.

Ping Pong the Animation

Best Sports Anime

On the surface, Ping Pong the Animation looks like a crudely drawn show about a low-level sport most just play for fun. It doesn’t take long to realize that this sports anime is beautiful and also layered with subtext.

Ping Pong the Animation follows two high school friends, Peco and Smile, and their journey playing the game. Each episode explores the intricacies of ping pong, explaining different strokes, styles, and tempos that anyone who has never played seriously wouldn’t have known existed.

Hyper Scape Is High-Flying Fun, But It's Still Another Battle Royale

3 years 10 months ago

In competitive shooters, I prefer to be above my enemies. I grew up playing Tribes, a game about jetpacks and split-second geometry calculations. In Overwatch, my favorite hero is Pharah, whose specialty is jetpack with a side of rocket launcher. Maybe I just really like jetpacks. Still, Hyper Scape is the ideal…

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Renames Controversial 'Border War' Skin

3 years 10 months ago
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone patch adds some new changes, including a name change for the controversial ‘Border War’ skin in D-Day. The skin has been renamed to ‘Home on the Range’ and the in-game description has been revised accordingly. The original Border War skin was criticized for its anti-immigration connotations and originally had the description “show them the error of their ways and make them pay with D-Day’s Border War operator skin.”

Listen To An Exclusive New Musical Theme From Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

3 years 10 months ago

Recent glimpses of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have only served to heighten our appetite for the long-running series’ latest entry. Even as we wait to actually get to play more of the anticipated game, today we have the opportunity to hear a bit more of what the game has in store for us, with an exclusive first-listen track from Valhalla’s score.

Composer Jesper Kyd has a long history with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including his creation of the defining musical theme of the franchise, originally crafted for Assassin’s Creed 2, and titled Ezio’s Family.

Kyd is working alongside fellow composers Sarah Schachner and Einar Selvik to bring us the musical soundscape of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In the track premiering today, “Out of the North,” Kyd captures the mystique of the Viking fantasy at the core of the game. Listen for the gradual layering and crescendo of the piece, which sounds like the aural equivalent of sailing into a Viking village after a longboat sea voyage.

“'Out of the North’ is the main theme for Norway,” Kyd told Game Informer. “I wanted to capture the feel of the rugged and vast, open landscape filled with fjords, mountains, snow and ice, combined with a strong sense of family and community; giving you a deep sense of living as a Viking with enduring beliefs. They’re a proud people with a grand destiny, high ambitions and a firm belief in their way of life.”

The Sims 4's knitting-themed DLC out later this month, gets new trailer

3 years 10 months ago

The Sims 4 is about to get a little woolier, courtesy of its latest paid DLC expansion, the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack, which comes to PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PS4 on 28th July.

The Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack is the second Stuff Pack to be built around a theme selected by the Sims 4 community (the first, the Laundry Day Stuff Pack, arrived in 2018), and, as you'd imagine, is focussed on fine art of turning a unassuming ball of yarn into a dizzying assortment of goods.

According to EA, Sims eager to embark on a life of knitting will first need to purchase a yarn basket; once suitably equipped, they'll then have to start modestly, fashioning the likes of socks and beanies, but will eventually be able to focus on increasingly elaborate projects - sweaters, baby onesies, toys, and even mailbox cosies - as their skills improve. Particularly proficient Sims can pass on their knitting know-how to others, including children.

Godfall Looks To Create Its Own Genre With Better Loot And Skillful Combat

3 years 10 months ago

Among the first games that'll usher in the PlayStation 5, and thus one of the first to bring on the next console generation, is Counterplay Games' Godfall. We've seen Godfall in action a few times now in trailers and videos, but some of the most intriguing tidbits about the game are things its developers have only mentioned in passing, and which haven't yet made it into trailers or gameplay videos.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Godfall is its combination of genres. Counterplay says it sees Godfall as expanding on action-RPGs and loot game genres to create something new--what it calls a "looter-slasher." GameSpot talked with Godfall director Keith Lee to find out exactly what the looter-slasher is all about, more about how Godfall will play, and what's going on in its strange fantasy world.

"The vision for making this game was how we can merge [looting with] third-person melee combat, getting really juicy, tight combat mechanics, the moment to moment flow, and that experience, because a lot of the people on our team love skill-based action combat titles," Lee explained. "Yet, also, there are people on our team, given our background having worked on Diablo and working at Blizzard, that we've always had a love for loot-driven action-RPGs. We love playing Borderlands. So really, the original premise and the concept was, can we have a game where it's somewhere in the middle, meaning that it's one part loot-driven, as well as one part skill-driven. It's more like an intrinsic mastery of the combats while the loot is more of an extrinsic reward system for you to be motivated to play the game."

Hearthstone Scholomance Academy: Weapon Redesign, Rapid Nerfs, And More

3 years 10 months ago

Hearthstone's next expansion, Scholomance Academy, is releasing in August. The new set will introduce 135 new cards including 40 new "Dual-Class" cards, a new Spellburst mechanic, and more. GameSpot spoke with game designers Chadd Nervig and Liv Breeden about the upcoming set, the new normal for how the company is approaching balance adjustments, and how an unused Demon Hunter power from Ashes of Outland helped create the new Spellburst in this set.

The last expansion [Ashes of Outland] was very grim and dark and metal. This one is a lot more lighthearted and kind of cute. When you're deciding the order of expansions, how much do you consider what came before and what's coming after to strike a balance?

Chadd Nervig: We definitely do keep that in mind. In general, Hearthstone tends to aim for whimsy and charm. Ashes of Outland was one of our darker sets, and this lightened things up. There's still, "What is Kel'thuzad doing in the basement?" There's still some darker undertones here and there.

Ninjala Interview: GungHo CEO Talks New Platforms, Lore, & Explains the Inspiration Behind “Gum Action”

3 years 10 months ago

Ninjala is a new multiplayer online arena brawler game for the Nintendo Switch that’s free-to-play. Its visually charming art style, wacky characters, and enjoyable combat system sets it apart from other games in the same genre and makes it stand out on its own, which are just some of the things that I praised in my initial preview, and eventual review, of Ninjala.

And not only are the online arena modes entertaining, but there’s an entirely another side of Ninjala that flies under the radar.

Ninjala has a separate single-player campaign with tons of lore to dive into for the quirky setting of the game and there’s even an animated series on YouTube and another with 3D CGI graphics.

Essentially, Ninjala’s story is absolutely bonkers in the best way possible.

Twinfinite had the opportunity to speak to president and CEO of GungHo Online Entertainment, Kazuki Morishita, to talk about where the concept of Ninjala came from, the lore of the world, and more. You can read the entire Q&A down below:

Features Editor Greysun Morales: Ninjala’s story and its world are centered around the characters being able to harness the power of Ninja Gum. Why was gum chosen as the source of power? Where did that idea come from?

Kazuki Morishita: When we create games, we try to start with the concept and theme of the game first, rather than starting from the world setting or story. Originally I thought of the idea after seeing some children playing pretend chambara (sword fighting) with some tree branches.

It's the 25th annual QuakeCon, and this one will be a little different. Overwatch Players Can Earn Sigma's Legendary Maestro Skin Beginning Today

3 years 10 months ago

It's been a while since Overwatch players have had a major update in the form of a new hero or map, but Blizzard is still trying to keep the experience fresh through limited-time mini-events that reward skins, emotes, sprays, and more. The newest one, Sigma's Maestro Challenge, coincides with the release of a new Overwatch soundtrack on streaming services and digital music services.

Much like other character-specific challenge events, all you have to do to obtain the ultimate prize (in this case, Sigma's Legendary Maestro skin), is win nine games before the challenge concludes. You unlock other rewards along the way: Three wins nets you a player icon, six wins gives you Sigma's Maestro emote, and nine wins finally rewards you with the Legendary Maestro skin for the eccentric astrophysicist.

If you're looking to add some sprays to your collection, you can link your Blizzard account to your Twitch account and watch sponsored streams to earn instrument-based sprays for Sigma, Moira, Symmetra, Lucio, Mei, and Orisa.

Destiny 2 Update Slightly Changes Falling Guillotine And Fixes Lots Of Little Bugs

3 years 10 months ago

One of the coolest new weapons to come to Destiny 2 in the Season of Arrivals is the Falling Guillotine, a huge blade that looks like Cloud Strife's Buster Sword and can be spun in a circle like you're imitating Link from The Legend of Zelda. Falling Guillotine does a ton of damage to enemies and is a favorite for eliminating big boss-type creatures at the moment--and it seems part of what made it so good was a bug in how it dished out damage. Destiny 2's latest update does away with the bug, but thankfully, Falling Guillotine seems relatively unscathed.

Bungie outlined the details of its new Destiny 2 patch, Update 2.9.1, on its website, and the patch fixes a whole bunch of bugs. One of them was the fact that "Vortex Frame swords" like Falling Guillotine weren't seeing their Heavy attacks ending properly--so they were dishing out more damage than they should have.

That bug has been squashed, along with a bunch of others. The good news is, despite what should effectively be a nerf to Falling Guillotine, the sword is still fully capable of ravaging enemies, including the champions who appear during the Contact event. That's a favorite way to use the sword right now, and it still works beautifully.
