Fortnite has introduced a new sea shanty emote that's a spin on a viral TikTok song that blew up earlier this year. It's called "Shanty for a Squad" and it's available in the in-game item shop.
Creator Epic Games shared the emote on Twitter with a video displaying several avatars stomping around, pounding on drums, and singing their hearts out about playing together. The "Shanty for a Squad" emote is priced at 500 V-Bucks and was promoted by the TikToker Nathan Evans, who first started the viral sea shanty craze on the short-form social platform.
🎶One day, when the squaddin' is done,
We'll take our dub and go 🎶

The Eternal Cylinder is a bottom-of-the-food-chain alien survival adventure from Ace Team, the creator of Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages, and my god does every square inch of this game look next-level weird.
Your fleshy Trebhum protagonists can mutate to have webbed toes, a third eye, a balloon body, and grasshopper legs, to name a few of the "50-plus" possibilities. Eat, mutate, survive – that's the drill.
The premise, including the "gargantuan rolling structure of ancient origin which crushes everything in its path" and is looming too close for comfort, reminds me of something I'd hear about twenty years later in a list of obscure, experimental, overlooked games we all missed – except it's here in 2021. It's not that often I see a game that's so wholly out-there with this sort of production quality. It's a nice sight!
There's a savanna, tundra, desert, and ah yes, this biome.
Since we last checked in with the game, ACE Team has begun running a "free" beta, which you can sign up for on the Eternal Cylinder site (just hand over your email) and play on the Epic Games Store.

Another day, another next-gen console restock at Walmart that'll probably sell out in the blink of an eye: The retailer will have the Xbox Series X|S available at 11:30 AM PT / 2:30 PM ET today (March 4), followed by the PS5 and PS5 Digital at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. The restock times are indicated on each listing, which we've linked below, and you'll want to be ready exactly at the restock time for a chance at securing a PS5 or Xbox. The consoles will be available online and via the Walmart app for delivery only.
The PS5 and PS5 Digital always sell out the fastest during these types of restocks, though the Series X will disappear quickly as well. The Series S will be the easiest to buy, though don't expect it to stick around too long either.

During the New Game+ Expo publisher showcase, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny received an official release date of June 29 on Switch for America and Europe. Nippon Ichi Software President Sohei Niikawa--dressed as a Disgaea character while stressing that he was definitely still in charge of the company--broke the news and also mentioned that anyone who purchases the game at launch will receive Girl Laharl, Asagi, Adell, and Rozalin as bonus characters.
Disgaea 6 first launched in Japan on Switch and PlayStation 4 in January, and much like previous entries in the long-running strategy-RPG series, it once again allows players to deliver devastating numbers of punishment on enemies. This latest chapter in the series may just have the most ambitious numbers yet, with some attacks having the potential to land quadrillions of damage digits on anyone unlucky enough to cross your path.
You can see the bonus characters and new gameplay in the latest trailer below.
The sequel also stars a new main character named Zed, a zombie boy who has come to life with powers through "super-reincarnation" and gets stronger each time he dies. As usual, there are numerous other characters to meet and ally with, each one drawn in the signature chibi-style of previous games.

It’ll come in fall 2021.
Next, is the release date of Neptunia ReVerse for PS5, which will come to North America on June 8, 2021, and Europe on June 11.
Super Mario Party is a solid game that finally got the series back on track and back to its roots. For a few generations, Nintendo has experimented with the Mario Party formula to mostly not-so-great results.
Super Mario Party was the much-needed return to form that fans wanted. The biggest issue, though, with Super Mario Party is that it was a little lacking in content. It only had a small handful of boards that wore out very quickly.
The New Game+ Expo is in full swing and NIS America had plenty of news to share about its upcoming games.
First of all, we learn that The Silver Case 2425 by Grasshopper Manufacture is coming west, presented by Goichi “Suda 51” Suda himself. It’ll launch on Nintendo’s console on July 6, 2021.

Next is another new game announcement with “Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1” also for Nintendo Switch (and PC), coming in summer 2021.
It’ll include Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Remastered and Soul Nomad & the World Eaters.
Call of Duty: Warzone has been teasing a nuclear explosion for quite a while now, and although rumours are once again swirling that the destruction of Verdansk is imminent, it seems some players decided to take things into their own hands: by making their very own bomb out of cars. And yes, it did break the server, what did you expect?
The experiment was conducted by streamer MarleyThirteen, who enlisted 149 followers to join him in a Warzone game to create the "biggest explosion Verdansk has ever seen" (thanks, VGC). The players agreed on a ceasefire and were tasked with finding as many vehicles as possible, with MarleyThirteen's team picking up recon contracts to show upcoming rings and the location of "ground zero". Players were also told to pick up as much cash as possible - and use all that money to buy a bunch of cluster strikes.
The group didn't exactly get it right the first time, or even the second: on the first attempt one player accidentally used their cluster strike too early, while on the second players drove into the vehicle pile so fast that it caused damage and mini-explosions, creating a chain reaction instead of one big fireball. Third time's the charm, as they say, and with some careful driving and queuing under MarleyThirteen's direction, the group managed to get their desired explosion. Unsurprisingly, it crashed the server, as the game was unable to process all those cluster strikes and burning vehicles.
The New Game+ Expo is in full swing and PM Studios had plenty of announcements to make for its upcoming games.
First of all, we get a release date for Exophobia for Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. It’ll come on October 5, 2021.
“In the brutally old-school pixel FPS Exophobia, players find themselves on an abandoned spaceship filled to the brim with unforgiving hordes of aliens. It’s a fight to the finish in this retro-inspired fast-paced shooter that comes complete with secret areas to discover and weapons to upgrade.”
Alchemic Cutie also gets a release date for Xbox Series X|S, and it’s July 27, 2021.
Industry veterans from Blizzard, Bungie, Riot, and Valve have raised $37.5 million to launch a new studio called Theorycraft Games. ...

When Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red promised none of its employees would have to work overtime to get the game done, did this also apply to the many developers working on parts of the game at its support studios?
As far as Cyberpunk is confirmed, well, that point is now all moot. But it's an interesting question, and as pretty much every big budget game employs support studios, it's a topic well worth exploring.
This month, Chris Bratt (who?) does just that in the latest video from the Patreon-funded People Make Games. In it, we hear from young developers working unpaid overtime on numerous big AAA projects, in support studios based in Malaysia and Indonesia.
First Anthem, now Artifact – who else has a hard-to-justify game revival that needs to be scrapped?
In an ominously-titled "The Future of Artifact" post, Valve shared the news that Artifact, a collectible card game based on Dota 2 that didn't draw in enough players, won't get more "gameplay updates."
The team wrote that "while we're reasonably satisfied we accomplished most of our game-side goals, we haven't managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time. As such, we've made the tough decision to stop development on the Artifact 2.0 Beta."
Where does that leave the game and its players? And what about the promised overhaul?
The original edition, Artifact Classic, will be capital-f Free, not just "free-to-play." As Valve puts it, "all players get every card," you can't buy card packs or paid event tickets, and "paid players' existing cards" will be "converted into special Collector's Edition versions, which will remain marketable."
The work-in-progress Artifact 2.0 Beta, which now goes by Artifact Foundry, is also free – you earn cards through gameplay. It's not finished, but "most of what's missing is polish and art," not features.

I never thought I'd see this: Moa Burger Pringles.
These limited edition Pringles, sold exclusively in Walmart (so we don't have to suffer them on these shores) riffs on a Halo: Reach in-joke - and a rather niche one at that.
OK, some background. In the world of Halo, the moa is an ostrich-looking creature native to the planet Reach. So the lore goes, moas were used as pets and also food. They're sort of like Halo's version of the chocobo from Final Fantasy.
EA's battle royale behemoth Apex Legends is getting another big event very soon with the Chaos Theory Collection Event, which we've now gotten a closer look at.
Mad Maggie returns with a terrible plan to sabotage the ring, which is causing ring flares to show up across the map. In the new Ring Fury mode, players get a new heat shield for their inventory that allows them to sustain ring damage to rescue teammates. This shield projects a dome that can protect players from the ring damage.
Additionally, players can visit Caustic's Town Takeover to find gold-tier loot, while Apex Legends overall is offering up 24 items that will only be available for a limited time. Players who collect all 24 will get Bangalore's "Cold Steel" heirloom, which looks pretty rad.
You can check out a teaser for the Chaos Theory Collection event in the video above. The event itself kicks off on March 9, which is also the day that Apex Legends come to Switch. Developer Respawn recently showed off more of Apex's gameplay on Switch--see it here.
To help Switch players catch up, Respawn is offering 30 free Battle Pass levels, double XP for the first two weeks, and a limited-time Legendary Pathfinder skin at no extra cost.
Lovecraftian horror game The Sinking City has once again been pulled from Steam as part of the ongoing (and increasingly ugly) publishing dispute between the game's developer, Frogwares, and its publisher, Nacon. The game released in June 2019, but was pulled from Steam and several other digital storefronts for months as a result of the legal conflict. The French courts eventually allowed Nacon to sell The Sinking City again while a final decision on whether or not Frogwares is legally obligated to deliver the Steam version of the game was still pending.
