Given the pattern of previous videos, we can expect a much more extensive video explaining her gameplay soon enough, likely during the weekend.

In the meanwhile, you can check this one out below.

New Chainsaw Man Anime Trailers Bring Story, Voice Acting & Blood

1 year 8 months ago

Two new trailers for Chainsaw Man have dropped, and they offer plenty of new elements for fans to dig into despite their short length.

Released via the MAPPA and Crunchyroll YouTube channels on Aug. 5, the trailers act as quick overviews of the anime’s story and action. MAPPA’s offers the full preview of the series, while Crunchyroll’s trailer acts more as a condensed teaser version of the trailer. Likewise, the voices of several key characters are shown for the the first time, and new bits of animation are overlaid with the voice bites for good measure.

The MAPPA trailer starts with the high ranking Public Safety Devil Hunter Makima offering input on main character Denji’s power to manifest the Chainsaw Devil. She notes how it makes him special even among the Public Safety Devil Hunters. Her subordinate Aki, meanwhile, threatens Denji with death if he doesn’t cooperate with the organization and sides with the Devils, while Power the Blood Devil simply exclaims that it’s “Fight Time.” Then there’s Denji, who threatens to kill someone if they get in his way.

All of this is overlaid over action scenes from the upcoming series. Everything flows with an exceptional amount of Sakuga, and there’s a metric boatload of blood, gore and violence that gives the whole runtime a sense of spectacle.

Both trailers can be viewed down below.

Everything You Need to Know About the Warner Bros. Discovery Announcements

1 year 8 months ago

Wondering what is going on with these Warner Bros. Discovery announcements? Want a location where you can come to see everything that has been announced by Warner Bros. Discovery this week? Well, you’ve come to the right place as there are a ton of announcements being made this week, keeping track of which can be pretty confusing.

However, before getting into the details, there are a couple of facts that are crucial to remember regarding this company. First, it’s important to remember that Warner Bros. and Discovery merged to form Warner Bros. Discovery back when the merger was finalized in April 2022. The union was led by David Zaslav, the man who was previously CEO and president of Discovery; once he finished the merger, he got put in charge as the CEO and president of Warner Bros. Discovery.

You may also be wondering why all this news is coming out today, which leads to the second point: there was a Quarter 2 earnings report today. During today’s meeting, since it was the first full report that was made with the newly merged company, Zaslav had to showcase to investors either growth in revenue and subscribers to their services or the plan by which to accomplish these things; the focus of this call, in particular, being the latter.

With that out of the way, this is everything you need to know about the Warner Bros. Discovery announcements made during the first week of August.

A Forgettable Liam Neeson Thriller That Audiences Loved Is Finding Lots of Love on Amazon Prime Today

1 year 8 months ago

It’s fair to say that Liam Neeson is fast becoming the go-to actor for middling action-thrillers. Don’t get me wrong, the Northern Irish Hollywood star has spearheaded some genuinely terrific pics, like 2008’s Taken and 2012’s The Grey for instance, but his sheer prolificacy in the genre has led to a seeming downturn in quality over recent years.

His latest forgettable thriller, Memory, which hit theaters earlier this year, has somehow risen from the ashes and managed to enter the Amazon Prime’s most-watched movies chart. That’s right, according to FlixPatrol, the 2022 suspense-driven action pic has managed to nab the number 9 spot in Amazon Prime’s Top 10 today.

Helmed by GoldenEye and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, it’s clear that Memory has a lot of action genre chops behind the camera. In addition, the film is based upon Belgian author Jef Geeraerts’ novel De Zaak Alzeimer (which translates to The Alzheimer’s Case), while also doubling as a remake of the Belgian filmic adaptation of the novel of the same name.

Narratively, Neeson plays an assassin who is suffering from early onset dementia. However, Neeson’s bounty hunter-esque character is tasked with eliminating a young girl, which is just a bridge too far for him. As a result, he goes on the run with a bunch of nasty guns-for-hire hot on his heels. Alongside Neeson stars Memento and Prometheus‘s Guy Pearce, who portrays an FBI agent on the hunt for sex traffickers, who inextricably becomes linked with the movie’s spider’s web-like drama that unfolds.

Sentinels’ First Valorant LCQ Game Smashed Domestic Viewership Records

1 year 8 months ago

Valorant’s North American Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) tournament got underway last night, and as expected the opening game between Sentinels and The Guard absolutely smashed domestic viewership records. The Masters 1 2021 champions’ already sizeable fanbase has evidently swollen in recent months after the unexpected signing of former CS:GO and popular streamer Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek.

According to escharts, Sentinels vs. The Guard was watched by over 600,000 concurrent viewers, which is over four times the viewership of last year’s tournament. In fact, the numbers actually exceed the majority of most games played during the recent Masters 2 Copenhagen international event.

Sentinels have always been a popular team after its dominant run of form throughout most of 2021, but the combination of new signings like Shroud and Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro, as well as the intrigue of watching them duke it out one last time for a spot at Champions later this year, has raised the interest to even greater heights. Watch parties hosted by popular streamers such as Tarik had over 160,000 viewers at times.

Unfortunately for those bleeding Sentinels red, the team lost 1-2 in a nail-biting series that went right down to the wire. Both the first and third maps went to overtime, and Sentinels absolutely had the chance to win the whole thing in the first overtime of map 3. Instead, it was The Guard that came out on top and move on to the next stage of the upper bracket. As for Sentinels, they drop to the lower bracket and await a game versus either Cloud9 Blue or Shopify Rebellion (previously Luminosity) in a second round that won’t be any easier.

Is Rocky Horror Picture Show Based on a True Story?

1 year 8 months ago

If you looked in the dictionary under “cult classic,” Rocky Horror Picture Show perfectly exemplifies its definition. Not only is it a fantastic musical stage production, its popularity spawned an equally great movie full of science fiction, horror, and comedy. Of course, Tim Curry’s performance as Frank N. Furter cannot be overlooked. As with all good musicals, an interesting story was weaved throughout the film. That begs the question: is Rocky Horror Picture Show based on a true story?

Is Rocky Horror Picture Show Based on a True Story?

Long story short: no, Rocky Horror Picture Show isn’t based on a true story. The movie and play are rich in science fiction and horror elements. More importantly, there are various aspects of the movie that immediately call into question the possibility that Rocky Horror Picture Show is based in reality.

One prime example is the bizarre mad scientist Frank N. Furter. It isn’t that he’s a bisexual cross-dresser or even his status as a mad scientist—it’s the fact that Frank N. Furter is an alien from Transsexual, Transylvania. No, not the location in Romania, but a planet called Transylvania. Everyone who is housed at Frank N Furter’s mansion is from the same planet, excluding Janet and Brad. In fact, the mansion is a spaceship.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Plan for Family & Friends Is Officially Being Tested in Select Regions

1 year 8 months ago

Today Microsoft announced that Xbox insiders in Ireland and Colombia are being prompted to test a new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service that will let them share their benefits with multiple family members and friends.

This allows players to add up to four people to their subscription, each with their own unique access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games, content, and benefits.

For the moment enrollment is limited and you can only add players residing in the same nation as you. Members using Xbox All Access also aren’t eligible.

We can guess the price from the conversion of your remaining Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time (assuming you’re already a subscriber) into the new service. 30 days will be converted to 18, which means that the proportion is 30:18. Considering the present $14.99 price for 30 days, that means that the service would cost a little over $25, which is definitely convenient for five people. Of course, for now, this just speculation, and we’ll have to see what Microsoft will price it, assuming that it will be offered worldwide after it has been properly tested.

One thing is for sure, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was already very attractive before, and the ability to share the price with friends and family would certainly make it even more attractive.

All that remains to be seen is where the offer will make it to the wider worldwide market, but this is information for another time.

Of course, we’ll keep you posted here on Twinfinite should Microsoft reveal new details.

Is the Bleach Manga Coming Back? Answered

1 year 8 months ago

The past few years have been good for Bleach fans. In addition to the anime experiencing an unexpected revival, the manga series also saw the release of a new chapter and a potential spin-off in the form of Tite Kubo’s latest work, Burn the Witch. However, one big question has been hanging in the air that you’ve probably been asking yourself: Is the Bleach manga coming back? We were wondering the exact same thing, and after doing some research, we’ve compiled our findings in this guide.

Is the Bleach Manga Finished? Answered

As it currently stands, the chances of the Bleach manga coming back aren’t as hopeless as they once appeared.

On one hand, the manga did see new content released as recently as 2021 via a companion one shot for the announcement of the anime’s continuation. In it, Kubo introduced plenty of new characters who could be fleshed out further and a potential storyline for Ichigo and his companions to explore should the series continue.

Likewise, the anime has seen plenty of positive buzz and interest from anime fans. Should it perform well, this could translate to renewed interest in more one-shots or even regular chapters being produced by Kubo and published in Shonen Jump. They could then be released either through their regular publication or at a slower pace alongside their Shonen Jump+ online publications.

However, these factors going the other way could have the opposite effect. If the anime doesn’t receive a ton of attention upon release, Shonen Jump isn’t likely to show interest in putting out new chapters.

Sherlock Holmes Meets Cthulhu in Newly Announced Game; Kickstarter Launched

1 year 8 months ago

Earlier today, Kyiv-based game studio Frogwares announced the official title for its project Palianytsia as Sherlock Holmes the Awakened. The Kickstarter site for this remake of one of the classic Sherlock Holmes titles is live now as a safeguard for the game’s funding.

When Does Sherlock Holmes the Awakened Release

Along with the reveal of the game’s official title and the launch of the Kickstarter, today’s press release also indicates that Frogwares is aiming to launch sometime in the middle of 2023 or even sooner if possible.

On top of that, a couple of brand-new trailers were released, one to tease Sherlock Holmes the Awakened and the other to talk about the difficulties of creating video games in a war zone.

Sherlock Holmes the Awakened Reveal Trailer

First up, the trailer for the new Sherlock Holmes title comes in at just under a minute and a half of action and dark Lovecraftian horror. For most of the trailer, Holmes and Watson are seen in a small rowboat running from a Sheriff and his men who are firing off shots in their direction.

They lead them across a swamp into a densely foggy area where the men stop their pursuit and the Sheriff says, “Take it easy now boys, they’ll be dead soon enough.” The locals must know something about this foreboding fog that Holmes and Watson do not.

Maybe as a part of some strategic trailer editing, their tiny ship is suddenly out on a choppy inlet surrounded by high cliffs with a single beacon from a lighthouse off in the distance.

As the trailer draws to a close, the camera drops below the rough seas to tease the classic Lovecraftian monster, Cthulu, for just a second before the tagline Sherlock Meets Lovecraft splashes on the screen.

Valorant Red Bull Homeground 2022 Will Feature North American Teams & Live Audience

1 year 8 months ago

Red Bull’s unique Homeground Valorant tournament is back again for 2022, and this time it won’t just be the EMEA region teams involved. A press release sent to Twinfinite today highlights that North American teams are joining the action for the first time, and there will also be a live crowd in attendance.

The event is taking place in October and forms one of the major non-VCT tournaments being held during a period that Riot Games had earmarked for third-party competitions during its overview of competitive Valorant earlier this year. Red Bull Homeground is being held at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Matches take place:

  • Friday 7 October Evening – Swiss Stage
  • Saturday 8 October Daytime – Swiss Stage + Elimination Stage
  • Sunday 9 October Daytime – Elimination Stage

If you’re unfamiliar with the format, Homeground games have a unique structure. Each team picks a favorite map, which is considered their “home ground.” Series are best of three, but they become best of five if an opposing team beats the other on their home ground.

G2 Esports and Team Liquid were the 2020 and 2021 champions of Red Bull Homeground in previous years. 2022 might very well see the first North American team crowned as champion, and in front of a live audience too.

Is Hocus Pocus Based on a True Story? Answered

1 year 8 months ago

Disney’s entire back catalogue is filled to the brim with gems that flood our lizard brains with nostalgia. One such cult classic is 1993’s fantastical comedy pic Hocus Pocus which stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Middler, and Kathy Najimy as a mischievous trio of witches with a penchant for sucking the souls out of youngsters in a bid to stay young forever.

If you’re here, you’re likely curious as to whether Hocus Pocus is based on a true story. So, without further delay, let’s get started.

Is Hocus Pocus Based on a Real Story? Answered

The short answer is, no, Hocus Pocus is not based on a true story. The longer answer is that there is a little more to this question than meets the eye.

You see, one of the co-writers behind Hocus Pocus, David Kirshner, has said that the idea of the movie evolved from him telling scary bedtime stories to his children. Specifically, Kirshner told Yahoo back in 2015 that, “Halloween is a huge deal in our home, and it has been since our daughters were little.”

Furthermore, the writers have gone on record to say that they loosely based the three sisters at the heart of Hocus Pocus on the very real victims of the Salem Witch Trials.

What Were the Salem Witch Trials?

For those wondering what the Salem Witch Trials were, well, back in 1692 in puritanical Massachusetts, there were a series of arrests and prosecutions trying to figure out whether a group of around two hundred people were witches or not. The hearings ultimately led to 19 innocent people being hung, five being imprisoned, and one man being crushed to death.

A Kaiju No. 8 Anime Has Officially Been Announced

1 year 8 months ago

Today, it was revealed that the adventures of Kafka Hibino are coming to life, as Kaiju No. 8 is going to be getting its very own anime adaptation. The news came by way of a trailer earlier today, which you can see for yourself down below.

“Kafka wants to clean up kaiju, but not literally! Will a sudden metamorphosis stand in the way of his dream?

For anyone that’s never heard of Kaiju No. 8, it’s a story about a young boy’s battle to try and eliminate the giants that are terrorizing his world. But in order to accomplish this goal, Kafka Hibino must become a monster himself, literally, as he turns himself into a kaiju to put an end to this threat once and for all.

It’s a fascinating tale of growth, as we see Kafka evolve from a corpse clean-up man who’s always wanted to join the Japanese Defense Force to someone capable of making a few kaiju corpses of his own. While info is still a bit brief on the adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s hit manga series, we do know that Toho Studios will be in charge of producing it.

Full Information on New Apex Legends Character Vantage Now Revealed

1 year 8 months ago

Respawn has now given Apex Legends players the full rundown on what abilities they can expect from upcoming season 14 character Vantage. If you’re already big on sniping, prepare to truly up your game.

Her abilities are (as given by a press release because the official site isn’t as detailed):

  • Spotter’s Lens (Passive): Using her Spotter’s Lens to read tactical information on enemy squads at a distance, Vantage always has the upper hand with critical intel like Legend name, Shield rarity, team size and range.
  • Echo Relocation (Tactical): Vantage’s companion Echo is at the ready to help her reposition herself in a fight. Using her modified jetpack and targeting system, Vantage can launch herself towards Echo’s position and take the high ground.
  • Sniper’s Mark (Ultimate): There’s nowhere to hide from Vantage’s custom sniper rifle, which reveals enemies with its scope and with its ammunition: a successful hit highlights opposing squads for 10 seconds accompanied by a diamond marker, and damage scales up with each hit.

There is also a shiny new characters trailer that lets you see these abilities in action.
