If you're one of the many Bayonetta fans left disappointed that the third instalment of the Bayonetta franchise yet again didn't show up at E3, Nintendo's Bill Trinen and Nate Bihldorff are keen for you to know that the sequel is still in development.
In an interview with GameSpot, Bihlfroff said they could "definitely confirm [Bayonetta 3] still exists".
"I will even go one further and say that not only does it exist, but it's progressing well," Trinen clarified.
Psychonauts 2 has reportedly been developed with "no crunch".
According to a tweet posted by a senior producer from Double Fine over the weekend, the "amazing" team has created "something so special" and has managed to do so without crunch, the industry term given to intense and often mandatory overtime that many studios require in order to get games completed in time to meet their release dates.
"Fun fact: Psychonauts 2 has had no crunch," announced Double Fine's Kevin Johnson on Twitter (thanks, TheGamer).
Massive Entertainment head, David Polfeldt, is stepping down as managing director to "pursue other challenges".
Polfeldt, who was heading the Ubisoft team responsible for the upcoming Avatar game as well as leading on titles like The Division, is taking "a long break" before "embark[ing] on a new adventure in Ubisoft". Polfeldt has worked at Massive for 17 years, and served as managing director for 12 of those.
"When we signed Star Wars, and finally completed our beautiful building Eden in 2020, I felt an overwhelming sense of completion, as if I had achieved everything I once dreamt of," the director said on the Ubisoft blog (thanks, VGC).
The team behind Among Us, Innersloth, has opened up about feeling "overwhelmed" and "burnt out" after the success of their cult classic multiplayer detective game during lockdown.
"Among Us going viral, it was just like, 'OK, this is my life,'" said artist Amy Liu. "The pressure to get things done quickly was really high. September to December, we're talking to Xbox, PlayStation. They were gonna try to get Among Us on these platforms, which usually takes many months - like, half a year to a year. We were like, 'Three months! We're gonna try that.'"
"I definitely burnt out," Liu told Anthony Padilla (thanks, Kotaku). "It was tough because during all of this, we weren't able to see friends and family. Being so tired from working, I couldn't even go visit my family during covid and had to spend holidays alone... that was definitely the hardest time."
Sundays are for getting vaccinated and feeling the power of Pfizer rush through your veins. Before you stand in line, let's read this week's best writing about games.
It's officially time for Amazon Prime Day, and the retailer is gearing up with some deals, many of which focus on Amazon devices such as Ring Doorbells and security cameras. During the days of June 21-22, we'll likely see even more Ring deals during the Amazon Prime Day sale, but there are already some pretty great discounts available right now. As official early Prime Day deals, you need to be a Prime member to take advantage of Ring discounts, but luckily there are ways to get Amazon Prime for free. We've rounded up the best Ring Doorbell and security camera deals available now, and we'll continue to update this article as more deals become available.

Pot Goblin, a loveable enemy from the upcoming Elden Ring, was the star of last week’s contest. You all did a great job celebrating this little bulbous creature.
Cyberconnect2 released new trailers and screenshots of its upcoming self-published game Fuga: Melodies of Steel.
This time around we take a look at the flow of battle and the ability to change formations, which effectively changes the weapons available on the mega tank Taranis.
The third video focuses on the characters and you need to manually activate English subtitles with the cc button.
We also get plenty of screenshots and artwork showing the first two chapters of the game, the Taranis, the characters, the formation feature, and skills.
You can check everything out below.
Back on March 30th, I wrote about the entirety of Shrek being available to download via Steam for Wallpaper Engine. It was removed within twelve hours and I feel no remorse. But while moderators can remove files from the Steam Workshop, they can't remove them from your PC, and I've kept Shrek as my desktop wallpaper for nearly three months.
Today, I'm removing it. Here is what I've learned.
There were three titles that originally released on the Game Boy Advance.

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the wonderful things from the Giant Bomb community! First, E3 came and went and I'm sorry about the lack of a Spotlight last week! E3 2021 was a lot to take in and required everyone's attention.
Speaking of which, 2021 wasn't able to kill E3 even after hitting the event twice with a car. We have a special E3 dedicated area for those of you wondering where to find the community discussion threads for the various conferences. Please be aware, the Giant Bomb staff did NOT talk over every conference and the same could be said about our community discussion threads. Also, it goes without saying that this week had a great deal of important announcements related to this site and its former staff. In fact, let's jump right into in the site-related housekeeping.
Cruelty Squad has the aesthetic of early to mid '90s first-person shooters. No, not Doom and Quake. I'm talking about the trash you don't remember. The hyper-violence, the purple lighting, the repeating textures, the art assets rendered at wildly variable resolutions, the faintly cyberpunk themes.
It's out now on Steam and there's a sensorally aggressive trailer below.
Sabotage Studio just released another brand new teaser trailer of its upcoming turn-based RPG Sea of Stars.
As usual, the trailer is very short (it’s just a teaser after all, and we get one per week, so it isn’t so bad), but it does a good job of conveying a message that there are no random encounters, all monsters and enemies are visible and encountered on the field.
The game, which is a prequel set in the universe of the developer’s The Messenger, has been funded with a very successful Kickstarter campaign and will feature music by Yasunori Mitsuda.
You can take a look at the video below.
The catch: If you don’t like the contents, you wait 24 hours to see a new pack
Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on developers had several interesting reveals to share today.
First of all, Orbx released a new mesh for Iceland that further improves the latest world update. The best thing is that it’s free.
You can get it here from Orbx Direct.
The debate between whether it's better to climb by simply pushing forward, Assassin's Creed-style, or through deliberate action, Mirror's Edge-style, misses the point that climbing is always cool. A tech demo by UpRoom Games reminded me just how cool climbing is today. It's a greybox playground for you to climb around with a procedural animation system that shifts your weight and positions your hands and feet. Watch a video of it below.

There are a lot of great city-building games. Some let you design massive and modern cities. Others focus on historical or even futuristic urban sprawl. And yet others fall into various sub-genres and categories. But none that I’ve played let you do the opposite: Build back all the nature that has died. That was until…

Modder FGCdraft created a Potato Low Spec mod for Arc System Works' wonderful anime fighting game to help people get it running on underpowered hardware, and in the process created a pixel art aesthetic I'm very much on board with.

Back 4 Blood looks cool. I’m a big fan of co-op shooters like Left 4 Dead. But last weekend developers Turtle Rock Studios confirmed that when B4B launches later this year it will require an internet connection. Even if you want to play alone. This is a bad decision and yet it keeps happening.

Steam hit Phasmophobia is, remarkably, developed by just one person. But the game has become such a big deal that help is finally on the way.
The co-op ghost-hunting game is created by 25-year-old UK indie developer 'Dknighter', who took to Phasmophobia's Steam page to announce the expansion of studio Kinetic Games.
"Over the past few years I have been developing Phasmophobia on my own however due to how much it has grown in both popularity and its future content plans it is now time to expand the team," Dknighter said.
