Will Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon Have White Walkers?

1 year 9 months ago

As one of Game of Throne’s primary antagonists, the Night King and his followers were the reason for countless deaths in the franchise. But, now that Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon is finally making its debut, will White Walkers be returning in this new series? Find out what you can expect to see in the franchise’s latest installment and if the creatures will be making an appearance.

Will Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon Have White Walkers? Answered

Based on the Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon trailer and updates, White Walkers will likely not be in the new show. Since the show has many aspects like dragons, civil war, and other elements, there isn’t much room left for the vicious ancient race in the storyline.

We know that the White Walkers are somewhere around Westeros in the show’s timeline because they have been around for thousands of years. They may also be recovering their strength after the Battle for the Dawn, a war that forced them to hide once the Children of the Forest and the Men retaliated against them. In addition, the creatures didn’t appear as much until the Night’s Watch encountered them at the franchise’s beginning.

A Beloved Christian Bale Thriller Is the Most Googled 2000s Movie in America

1 year 9 months ago

Christian Bale has become one of the most recognizable and beloved actors in the entire industry over the past few decades, as he’s been in a lot of classic roles so far. Whether he’s saving people as a superhero as Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy or trying to kill them as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, it’s hard not to love this actor.

Interestingly enough, though, it isn’t Batman or any of Bale’s more notable action roles that people are hyped about at the moment. In fact, one of his most googled films at the moment is a Thriller. Yes, that’s right; we are talking about American Psycho.

Originally released in 2000, American Psycho is a horror film about a wealthy New York City investment banking executive named Patrick Bateman, who is played by Christian Bale. It’s one of his more unique roles, as it’s all about a character who hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.

According to a study done by USDirect, American Psycho landed at the top spot for the most googled 2000s movie in America. You can see the chart and some other interesting findings for yourself below.

This time around we get the introduction of Spider-Man, A.K.A. your friendly neighborhood Peter Parker.

While the video is pretty brief, it’s plenty to give us the gist of the fact that this game’s version of Spider-Man dabbles with powers you definitely haven’t seen in Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Given the pattern of previous videos, we can expect a much more extensive video explaining the powers in detail on top of another on the history behind Spider-Man himself across the next few days.

Heavily Modded Cyberpunk 2077 Boasts Flying Cars & Amazing Graphics

1 year 9 months ago

Regardless of how you felt about Cyberpunk 2077 when it came out at the end of 2021, you’ve got to admit it’s at least a little disappointing that this futuristic cyberpunk title didn’t have the option to pilot flying cars. Thankfully, with the help of a boat load of mods, that dream is now a reality.

As shown off by youtube Digital Dreams in the video below, Cyberpunk 2077 with flying cars looks just as awesome as you’d think. Tack on the fact that the visuals are all the way up to 8K, and you can really get a feel for just how futuristic Night City looks and feels when these two things are added into the game.

Arguably the coolest part is how you can even switch from just driving regularly to flying your car at any point, which makes traveling around a breeze. Anyone interested in downloading the mod and shaders for themselves can head to this Nexus Mods link.

Ubisoft Comments on God of War Ragnarok Competition for Skull & Bones; Expects Mario + Rabbids to Be Big

1 year 9 months ago

Today. during Ubisoft’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, chief executive officer Yves Guillemot and chief financial officer Frédérick Duguet talked about the competitive landscape for Skull & Bones and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Duguet dispelled worries expressed by an analyst about the possibility that Skull & Bones could be affected negatively by Sony’s God of War Ragnarok (the two games release one day apart on November 9 and November 8 respectively) as their target is different, with Skull & Bones is online and social. On top of that, it’s going to be on more platforms compared to the next adventure of Kratos and Atreus.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Douguet added, is a highly-anticipated game for a platform that has now sold over 100 million units, so it should be a big game this year.

Guillemot added that While God of War is a great game there aren’t that many games releasing at the end of this year. On top of that, he mentioned that on the Switch there’s “only Pokemon” (Scarlet & Violet) during that period, so Ubisoft expects Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope to be one of the big games of the end of this year.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope launches for Nintendo Switch on October 20, while Pokemon Scarlet & Violet come on November 18, 2022.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Release Date Announced

1 year 9 months ago

Earlier today in a YouTube video, Konami announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection will be released in just over one month. The new trailer also briefly touched on a few new features in this collection that were not present in the original games. However, none of the visuals or gameplay content seems to have been changed.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection New Features

One of the biggest additions in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is online multiplayer. Nothing beats hours of couch co-op with friends, but that’s not always accessible to everyone these days.

Next up the trailer mentioned that saves and rewinding will be featured in this collection. Adding saves and rewinding to classic games used to get people all riled up but it seems to just be a standard feature that is widely accepted now.

Finally, the last new addition mentioned was the inclusion of artist sketches and concept art. This is also another feature that is the norm for these big classic collections these days.

What Games Are in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection

Down below is a list of all 13 titles that are included as a part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowbunga Collection:

When Does Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Come Out?

With the long-awaited Avatar sequel, The Way of Water, finally headed to theaters later this year, there has been news on another property made from the Avatar IP. We’re here to share what we know with you about when Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be coming out.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Release Date

When Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was first revealed in the June 2021 Ubisoft Forward livestream, the game was given a 2022 release window. Sadly, today it has now received a delay that delivers an even more vague and broad release window.

Ubisoft announced its financial results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (2022-2023) today. In this report, they also announced a delay to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the next fiscal year. This means the new release window is anywhere from April 2023 to March 2024.

Splinter Cell VR, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, & More Canceled by Ubisoft

1 year 9 months ago

During Ubisoft’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, chief financial officer Frédérick Duguet announced that Ubisoft has canceled a few games that were in development.

The first is the Splinter Cell VR game that was announced a while ago, while the second is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, the free-to-play battle royale game that was in development at Ubisoft Bucharest for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, top of Amazon Luna and Google Stadia.

The game was revealed at the end of 2021, with the closed beta then delayed following a rather negative reaction from the community.

On top of that, two more unannounced games have been canceled, but we know nothing about those.

We also heard that the company intends to “stabilize its headcount” by the end of the current fiscal year ( March 2023) back to levels of the previous fiscal year.

Earlier today Ubisoft also announced that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been delayed to the next fiscal year (between April 2023 and March 2024), with another but smaller premium game also suffering the same fate.

Marvel Snap’s First Big Nexus Event Is a Gacha-Riddled Disappointment

1 year 9 months ago

Don’t I feel silly for singing all of Marvel Snap’s praises just last week for being an incredible new card game? While my stance on the core game itself remains the same, the drop of the new Nexus Event is quickly shaping up to be a potential turning point for Marvel Snap’s direction.

For context, Nexus Events are a type of in-game event that developers Second Dinner have been hyping up for the past few weeks or so. Marvel Snap is still in its beta phase, but with Nexus Events being teased for this month, it was exciting to see what the developers had planned for its first major content drop. We always knew that the Nexus Event would include new cards, variants, and avatars for players to unlock. What we didn’t know, however, was that the Nexus Event wouldn’t be an event at all in the conventional sense of the word, and would instead just be a gacha-style lootbox system getting added to the game.

Here’s what the Nexus Event is: there’s simply a new option in the Shop menu that allows players to perform pulls with Gold, which is the in-game premium currency. 180 Gold gives you one pull, and 1,800 Gold gives you a 10x pull. You’re guaranteed to get a Super Rare reward every 50 pulls, and one Rare reward every 10 pulls. The Super Rare drop rate is set at 1.5%. Sound familiar yet? It’s the same kind of gacha system you see in plenty of mobile games today.

Fortnite events always seem like they simultaneously last forever and also don’t give you enough time. If you’re working through the No Swear Summer quests, you have a couple of weeks to earn everything. Here’s when the No Sweat Summer event will end in Fortnite.

No Sweat Summer End Date

No Sweat Summer is live as of today, July 21, and will go until Aug. 9 at 9 am ET. There are two quests available at this moment, with more rolling out daily for a total of 14, judging by the bonus goals.

A majority of the quests will unlock a different style for the event’s unique Slurpee-like Back Bling, but there is a Glider and Emote to earn as well.

We know exactly what the rest of the No Sweat Summer quests are going to be; we just don’t know in what order they will unlock for sure. If you’re wanting to double up on event rewards, Rebuild the Block is also going on and will end at the same time.

That’s everything there is to know about when the No Sweat Summer event will end in Fortnite. Keep an eye out over the coming days as more event quests continue to roll out.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Delayed as Ubisoft Announces Financial Results

1 year 9 months ago

Today Ubisoft announced its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022-23 (related to the period ended on June 30, 2022) and among other things, the publisher announced a delay for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

The game will be delayed to the fiscal year 2023-24, which means that it’ll release between April 2023 and March 2024.

Another “smaller unannounced premium game” has also been delayed to the same period.

“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will now release in 2023-24. We are committed to delivering a
cutting-edge immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology, as this
amazing global entertainment brand represents a major multi-year opportunity for Ubisoft.
We also decided to release in 2023-24 a smaller unannounced premium game, originally slated
for 2022-23.

While this additional development time is a reflection of the current ongoing constraints on
productions across the industry, we are hard at work to design the most efficient working
conditions to ensure both flexibility for our teams as well as strong productivity while delivering
the best experiences to players.”

That’s right, it’s that time again in Fortnite where you can earn free stuff. No Sweat Summer has been teased for a couple weeks now, and it has finally arrived. Players will be able to complete the No Sweat Summer quests to unlock different styles for a Slurpee-like back bling.

The event has gone live with only two possible quests, one for simply landing and the other for interacting with the event’s “No Sweat Signs” that all quests will seemingly use in different ways. It seems every day will see a new quest unlock. While we know what the No Sweat Summer quests are, we don’t know the order they will arrive.

Rebuild the Block is a little more simple with much more important changes. During the Collision event at the end of Chapter 3 Season 2, Tilted Towers was almost entirely destroyed. While it was mostly rebuilt for the new season, there are still a couple vacant lots.

Players were able to enter their own designs for the chance to become actual Tilted Towers fixtures, and everyone can now vote (using gold bars) on their favorites. You’ll have to spend almost 5,000 bars total, as well as getting eliminations and surviving the storm to earn a Contrail, Pickaxe, and Back Bling.

A Very Surprising Puzzle Game Outsold Call of Duty in Europe This Year

1 year 9 months ago

Activision’s beloved military first-person shooter is undoubtedly one of the big-hitters when it comes to sales each and every year. Not only does it sell like gangbusters, but it’s also a hugely profitable and recognizable game as a service that boasts one of the largest and most dedicated fanbases in the entire industry. Despite all this, a very surprising puzzle title has come out of nowhere and managed to outsell the US-based company’s latest behemoth so far this year — well, in Europe, at least.

The news comes by way of a recent tweet from industry analyst and head of GamesIndustry.biz, Christopher Dring, which you can see for yourself down below:

That’s right, according to Games Sales Data, Nintendo’s logic-based puzzler Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain outsold Call of Duty: Vanguard in Europe this year. Let that sink in for a second.

Popular Trans Streamer Keffals Temporarily Banned On Twitch After Appeal Rejected

1 year 9 months ago

A popular trans Twitch streamer has had her appeal rejected after receiving a ban from the platform following a live stream criticizing a YouTuber for their alleged transphobia.

Clara “Keffals” Sorrenti, well known on the platform for providing news and political commentary to an LGBTQ audience, broadcasted a live stream aimed at YouTube Gaming streamer Steven Kenneth, better known as Destiny.

Sorrenti accused Kenneth of holding transphobic views and criticized him for his connection to the controversial chat forum “KiwiForums” which is known for promoting harassment and group trolling. In the thumbnail for her stream, Sorrenti displayed a list of slurs that she claimed had been aimed at her for her position as a trans Twitch streamer, resulting in her ban.

Sorrenti revealed on Twitter this morning that her appeal had been rejected and voiced her disappointment saying:

“Twitch rejected my appeal. I am banned for another 28 days for displaying a list of hateful slurs that were actually hurled at me by bigots in order to illustrate the kind of harassment I receive for being an openly trans twitch streamer. I have never been this disappointed.”

Dragon Ball: The Breakers Gets Release Date, Special Editions, Closed Beta, & New Trailer Introducing Frieza

1 year 9 months ago

Today Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the release date of the upcoming 7 vs. 1 survival game Dragon Ball: The Breakers.

The upcoming game will release in North America and Europe on October 14, 2022, for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This is just one day after the Japanese release date. Bandai Namco has been extremely good over the past few years in not making western fans wait more than their Japanese customers and we should definitely give credit where due.

We also get a brand new trailer of the game showcasing another of the villains that we’ll get to play to terrorize the civilians.

Of course, it’s Frieza (which adds to the previously-revealed Cell) and we get to see him rage on the battlefield through his evolutions.

We also learn that a special edition will include the full game, a customizable costume, a “two-handed good” victory pose, and a Yellow dragon vehicle skin.

Pre-order bonuses include an Android 18 Transphere with Wall Kick skill (it allows the civilians to temporarily transform into 18 to get back at the villain), and a Blue Scouter accessory.

A Limited Edition includes Green Potara earrings, a Steelbook, the contents of the Special Edition, and a 9 cm Cell Shell Figure.

A closed beta is will be hosted between August 5 and August 6, with registrations open now and ending on August 1.

You can check out the trailer below.

Saints Row Interview: Developer Discusses Co-Op Pranking, Last-Gen Console Performance, & More

1 year 9 months ago

The Saints Row series saw a massive shakeup back in Summer 2021, as Deep Silver and Volition revealed that a brand new game would be coming out that reboots the franchise. Since then, we’ve had a lot of information provided that reassured fans that the game will still feature the same wacky and weird gameplay and story that fans came to love.

Yet, even with all of the info that’s been shown off, there’s still a lot of questions on people’s minds before Saints Row releases next month. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Volition UI Artist Danielle Benthien to discuss some of those questions and much more, which you can see right down below.

Twinfinite Features Editor Andrew McMahon: How will the new characters captivate fans like the Saints we know and love from the past games? Will there be anyone that can possibly live up to the legacy of Johnny Gat?

Live A Live Review – Reliving the Golden Age of JRPGs

1 year 9 months ago

Live A Live on Switch

Live A Live is unlike any JRPG I have ever played. It was way ahead of its time when it was released in Japan for the Super Famicom in 1994, and it’s a shame that the rest of the world didn’t get to experience it back then. Fortunately, Square Enix decided it was time that this ambitious game was remade and introduced to new audiences in 2022.

What makes Live A Live stand out from other JRPGs is that instead of building a party of characters around a singular protagonist throughout the game, the story is split into eight very distinct scenarios. They are so distinct that they have very little to do with each other at all, or at least that’s what it seems at first.

Each of the eight scenarios you’ll play through features characters from all different time periods, from a cave boy in prehistory all the way to a robot in the distant future.

I Got Turned Into a Mailbox In Saints Row’s Chaotic Co-Op (Hands-On Preview)

1 year 9 months ago

Ever since it debuted in 2006, Saints Row has been one of my favorite franchises in gaming. The sheer absurdity of its story and gameplay was always refreshing compared to all the serious and gritty action-adventure games that have been released over the years.

So, when Deep Silver invited me out to Las Vegas to try the upcoming reboot of Saints Row, I simply couldn’t wait to see what was in store. Thankfully, it’s good news for Saints Row and co-op fans.

The hands-on preview opens up at the start of the game, teasing an interesting mystery surrounding the Saints before jumping back a bit to before they were officially founded. The story starts out with a bit of a surprise, as your character isn’t actually a part of any of the gangs that make up the streets of Santo Ileso.

How to Stop the Music at Rave Cave in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 (Week 7 Quest)

1 year 9 months ago

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 has thus far proven to just be one big celebration. The old Command Cavern was a bland cave where nothing fun happened, but now it’s a 24/7 rave. Though, a new challenge does require players to break up the party. Here’s how to stop the music at Rave Cave in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.

Stop the Rave Cave Music

Obviously, the first thing you will want to do is land at Rave Cave. Considering the current No Sweat Summer event and some of the other weekly challenges, you might want to wait until Rave Cave shows up at the end of the jump line, or wait until later in a match.
