Runeterra champions: stats and abilities

4 years 2 months ago

Legends of Runeterra has been in open beta for a while and has its fair share of unique features. Perhaps the most unique is how it implements the signature League of Legends champions. They are the strongest units in every deck and the ones you’ll be mostly forming your deck around. Each one of the six different regions, or colour combinations, that you can build your deck around have four champions. We’ll be listing exactly what every single champion card does.

Runeterra 0.9.0 patch notes

4 years 2 months ago

With the latest Runeterra patch notes, some much needed changes have been made to some key cards that have been a big part of every deck. Deny has finally seen a cost increase, while the power of Fearsome and Elusive decks has also been dropped. In order to keep up with all the changes that will be made to the game, I will be looking over the changes that are being made when every Runeterra patch note post is released and seeing where the biggest changes are going to be.

Have You Played… Europa Universalis 2?

4 years 2 months ago

Europa Universalis II will always be one of my favourite strategy games, even if I don’t play it any more because its sequels have improved on it so much. Paradox’s epic map-painting series is one of those dependable few whose each progressive entry gets bigger and better than its predecessor, with the annoying bits ironed out, and the best bits amplified. Still, they’re all pretty much the same, topologically speaking: gigantic strategy games, which let you guide a single nation through the entirety of the early modern period (i.e, everything from Knight Time, through to the invention of the top hat).

CCP cancel Project Nova, but haven't given up on an EVE Online shooter

4 years 2 months ago

Another EVE Online spin-off has bitten the dust. Project Nova, CCP’s latest attempt to put their expansive universe in front of the barrel of a rifle, has joined Dust 514 and EVE: Valkyrie on the intergalactic scrapheap. The devs haven’t quite given up on a boots-on-the-ground galaxy entirely. They’ve still got a team down in London plugging away at that problem. But for all intents and purposes, Nova is no more.

Rumour: Animated Overwatch and Diablo TV adaptations are in the works

4 years 2 months ago

We all done tossing coins at mutant sellswords yet? Word on the street is there’s an Overwatch animated series and Diablo anime in the pipeline over at ActiBlizzion HQ. Look, there’s a rumour about a game series floating about every other month (what’s up, Halo?), so take all this with a pinch of salt. But if this one’s true? Then yeah, I can see those franchises working on the telly.

‘Course, I also liked the Warcraft movie, so what the hell do I know?

Premature Evaluation: Rover Mechanic Simulator

4 years 2 months ago

You can keep your trendy meditation apps and your Himalayan pilgrimages to remote temples where ascetic monks ding little bells and dispense timeless wisdom, because I’ve just discovered something a thousand times more effective at achieving a semblance of inner peace. The absolute best salve for an overheating brain is to quietly dismantle a Martian rover. Just sequester yourself away in the spare room for an evening with a warm glass of oat milk, before methodically unscrewing the approximately four hundred screws that keep a tiny robot’s wheels from whizzing off into a crater.

Empire of Sin pushes its prohibition crime spree back to Autumn

4 years 2 months ago

Stick the fedora back in the closet, gang. Empire of Sin, Romero Games’ prohibition-era mob operation won’t kick off its roaring spree for a few months yet. No, John and Brenda Romero haven’t been taken outta the picture by a rival studio. The long arm of the law hasn’t finally shuttered their backroom dealings. The devs just reckon they’ll need a little more time to put their perfectly respectable business together, delaying Empire of Sin until Autumn 2020.

4 years 2 months ago

Winter might be wrapping up, but it’s never too late for an out-of-season blizzard. SnowRunner, arctic follow-up to ponderous mud-crawler Spintires: Mudrunner is bringing the chill back to PC on April 28th. Have You Played… A Case Of Distrust?

4 years 2 months ago

The elevator pitch for A Case Of Distrust has got to be one of the most tantalising statements in the history of games. Set in San Francisco in 1924, this narrative mystery game is, and I quote, “a blend of the board game Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective, the adventure games 80 Days and Phoenix Wright, the poster design of Saul Bass, and the hard-boiled novels of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.”

Yes to all of the above, please.

A month before Half-Life: Alyx, Valve's Index headset is still sold out

4 years 2 months ago

Half-Life: Alyx is barely a month out now, scheduled to release on March 23rd. When it was originally announced as a VR-only title, Valve’s own Index VR headset quickly flew off physical shelves and was entirely sold out online by mid-January in all 31 countries where it’s sold. As reported by Road To VR, the Index is still all but sold out globally.

Amazon's New World MMO talks lore but little gameplay in a new video

4 years 2 months ago

Amazon Game Studios announced their upcoming 17th century MMO New World late last year. It’s planned for a release this May and at only three months out, it seems like I know a lot less than I’d like to about what on Earth (or Aeternum?) this new open world online game is supposed to be. Amazon released another in a series of developer diaries today talking more about world lore and factions but frankly I still don’t think it tells us much.

Castlevania is back for season 3 on Netflix next month

4 years 2 months ago

Alright vampire lovers, do not despair. Bloodlines 2 got the ol’ pushback but Castlevania has you covered for early 2020. Netflix’s Castlevania is returning for a third season in March with more animated fangs based on Konami’s classic vamp ’em up . That’s the news part. The non-news is that vampires are still hot. You don’t need me to tell you that, you can just watch the trailer.
