War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Reveals Final Fantasy IV Crossover

3 years 9 months ago

Today, during a livestream from Japan, Square Enix revealed a new crossover collaboration for its mobile game War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

This time around fans will be able to enjoy content from Final Fantasy IV, which marked the debut of the series on the Super NES and remains one of the best Final Fantasy games to date.

To be more precise, we’ll see the introduction of Cecil Harvey, Kain Highwind, and Rosa Farrell.

The event will launch on July 22 on the Japanese version of the game. It’s worth mentioning that the English version is behind in content by a few months, so it should get this crossover later this year.

You can see a nostalgic trailer below.

If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out our interview with global version producer Hiroki Fujimoto.

Incidentally, previous collaborations involved Final Fantasy Tactics’s Ramza Beoulve, Goffard Gaffgarion, and Cidolfus Orlandeau today, while  the second round added more characters.

If you’re unfamiliar with War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which is currently available for iOS and Android, here’s how Square Enix describes the story.

“Leonis, a small kingdom surrounded by powerful nations, has remained unconquered with the help of a curious ring bestowed upon it king by the “Winged One.”

With visions—the hopes and dreams of legendary warriors given life—on their side, Leonis could hold its own against the might of other kingdoms.

But as the ever-repeating cruelty of fate would have it, even the bonds of love and friendship cannot remain unscathed.

The twin princes of Leonis, Mont and Sterne, are no exception.

Their feud signals the beginning of the end of the longstanding War of the Visions.

In this war-torn land of rivaling nations, who will be left smiling in the dazzling light of the Crystal?”
