Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV Reveals New English Gameplay and Developer Diary Video

4 years 2 months ago

Koei Tecmo released two new videos of the upcoming strategy game Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV.

The first video is pure gameplay, showing from the point of view of Cao Cao, one of the most popular and iconic warlords of the series and of the Three Kingdoms setting in general.

The second is perhaps even more interesting, as it features a chat about the game among current Producer Kazuhiro Echigoya and Ken Kitami, who covered the same role during the development of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI. He also used to be Echigoya’s boss.

This is particularly interesting because XIV openly draws inspirations from XI, so it’s nice to hear Kitami’s opinion on the new game.

You can watch the videos below.

Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV is already available in Japan and it’ll be released in North America and Europe very soon, on February 28, 2020 for PS4 and PC.

If you want to learn more, you can also check out the latest gameplay trailer, the previous batch of trailers and info on diplomacy, the first video of the developer diary series featuring Kou Shibusawa himself, alongside more screenshots and detailsanother video which explains how the game lets you paint the map to visualize frontlines and supply areas intuitively, the opening cutscene, and plenty of gameplay.
