Ring in 21 Years of the PS2 With a Sick Remix of Its Iconic Theme

It was 21 years ago this very day that the PS2 released in Japan, giving birth to the most successful, and arguably most innovative, console of all time. And while we celebrate its technological features and amazing games, there is no doubt that one of the first things that come to mind when you think of this Sony console is its catchy theme.

To this day, hearing the simple chime of a PS2 start-up is enough to bring back a wave of nostalgia that could cripple even the most emotionally closed-off gamers. Twitter user and composer Carter Harrell couldn’t seem to agree with that statement more.

As you can see in the video above, Harrel uses his musical and editing skills to remix the beloved theme into a track worthy of playing at anyone’s 21st birthday party.
