New Star Citizen Videos Show Gas Clouds & Squadron 42 Comms as Crowdfunding Passes $280 Million

Cloud Imperium Games released a couple of interesting videos showcasing upcoming content to Star Citizen and its single-player campaign Squadron 42.

The first video starts with an explanation (and a rather hilarious example) of how developers squash bugs with the help of the community.

After that we get to see the way comms work in the single-player version Squadron 42, which has characters actually “acting” in their cockpits.

This will also be implemented in the persistent universe at some point in the future.

The second weapon has the developer showcasing how they create spectacular gas clouds in space.

You can check them out below.

Incidentally, Star Citizen news is a crowdfunded game and the crowdfunding total just passed $280 million.

To be more precise, it’s sitting on $280,024,366 at the moment of this writing. The number of registered accounts has also been updated ato 2,583,741.

As usual, it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons.

If you want to learn more about Star Citizen, you can take a look at the latest update released a few days ago, Alpha 3.9.

For the sake of full disclosure, the author of this article has been a Star Citizen backer since the original Kickstarter campaign several years ago, so you should keep that in mind while reading this article.
