New Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions Screenshots Show Players from Italy, Uruguay, & England

Bandai Namco is continuing to reveal new screenshots of its upcoming anime soccer game Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions.

The screenshots were revealed on Twitter, and this time we move away from Japan to show players from other national teams.

Gino Hernandez (I’m sorry, but transliterating him with “Zino” is just wrong) is is Italy’s goalkeeper and captain. We also see Leonardo Rusciano also hails from Italy, but he actually did not appear in the manga and anime as far as I know.

We also see Uruguay’s captain Ramon Victorino and England’s defender Robson, who never had a first name in the series.

You can check them out below.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions is currently developed by Tamsoft, and it will release for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC worldwide in 2020.

If you want to see more, you can enjoy the first screenshots and artwork, more screenshots, the first trailer, the second trailera comment from the series’ creator, the first gameplay, and another look at the game.

While the franchise is certainly very well known, not everyone is familiar with it, as its popularity varies a lot from region to region.

While In North America the original Captain Tsubasa anime never rose to the same prominence, I don’t think I’m exaggerating by arguing that in many European and Latin American countries (and of course, Japan) almost every kid who grew up in the past forty years knows about it.
