With Overwatch 2 going down the free-to-play route, players can expect there to be an increase in microtransactions in the game as well. The new premium currency will allow players to purchase various cosmetics, the Battle Pass, and even heroes. Here’s how to get Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2.

Getting Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2

There are two primary ways of getting Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2, as listed below:

  • By completing weekly challenges.
  • By purchasing them with real money.

Of course, shelling out your hard-earned cash will be the best way of accruing a large amount of Coins quickly, but for F2P players, you’ll be able to earn about 60 Coins each week as well.

Weekly Challenges

For folks who don’t want to spend money, click on the Challenges tab on the menu to check out all of the weekly challenges you can take on to get Coins.

Completing four weekly challenges will give you 30 Coins, completing eight will give you 20, and completing all 11 will give you another 10 Coins on top of that. The weekly challenges are as follows:

  • Playing to Win: Win 10 games.
  • Flex Your Power: Win 10 games queued as All Roles.
  • To the Victors Go…: Win 20 games in Unranked or Competitive Play.
  • Coin Line: Win 7 games in any Arcade mode.
  • Role Mastery: Win 10 games each as 2 different roles in Quick Play or Competitive Play.
  • The Best Defense: Deal/boost a total of 125,000 damage. Total Mayhem doesn’t count.
  • Hold the Line: Mitigate a total of 40,000 damage. Total Mayhem doesn’t count.
  • The Real Heroes: Heal a total of 65,000 damage. Total Mayhem doesn’t count.
  • Play of the Game: Earn 50 eliminations/assists with ultimates. Total Mayhem doesn’t count.
  • Cleaning House: Earn 20 Team Kills.
  • Hero Mastery: Complete 7 games as heroes NOT in your top 3 most played (All Modes).

As you can see, the weekly challenges aren’t exactly a walk in the park, and will likely require quite a bit of play time each week if you want to knock them all out.
