Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes Support Guide: How to Increase Support, View Conversations, & More

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering how Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes’ Support system works? This guide will talk you through everything you need to know.

While Three Hopes doesn’t feature the same tactical RPG gameplay that Three Houses did, series fans should definitely still keep an eye on this one. There are still support conversations to be had, and the story serves as a unique retelling of the events of its predecessor. Here’s a full rundown of how the support system works in Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes.

Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes Support System Explained

Just like in Three Houses, players will be able to increase the support ranks between the characters in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

As the support rank increases, characters will perform better on the battlefield when deployed together, allowing them to enjoy bonuses that might improve their survivability and increase their damage dealt.

You can also unlock support conversations between your different characters as the rank goes up, and this is where you’ll find the bulk of the character development in the game. Because of this, we definitely recommend increasing your support ranks for as many characters as possible.

How to Increase Support

There are a few ways to increase your support ranks in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, and we’ve listed them all below:

  • Fighting together in combat
  • Doing chores together
  • Sharing meals together
  • Training together
  • Going on expeditions
  • Giving gifts
  • Answering questions correctly in cutscenes

As you play through the story, the protagonist will occasionally be asked to give their input on certain matters, and your answers can increase the support rank between the protagonist and another character. This won’t really be your main way of building up support, though, so feel free to pick whichever answers resonate most with you.

The best ways to increase support is by engaging in the various activities available to you in camp, and we’ll go over those now.

Camp Activities

First off, visiting the Chore Master, Kitchen Master, and Training Instructor will give you opportunities to increase your support ranks, while also leveling up your job mastery and applying buffs to your entire party.

By visiting the Kitchen Master, you can cook a meal that applies various different buffs to your entire party.

Do note, however, that you need the ingredients on hand to cook those meals, and ingredients can be bought from the Item Shopkeeper, or obtained as rewards for clearing out regions.

As you cook a meal, you can also select two other characters to share it with you. Every character has their own preferences for different meals, as indicated by the arrows on their icons on the character selection screen.

We recommend sharing meals with characters who have a preference for whichever meal you picked, as that will give you the largest support boost.

On the flip side, if you’re looking to increase your job mastery, you can head over to the Training Instructor instead. From here, you’ll be able to group your characters in pairs, select the jobs you want them to level up, then start training.

Each training session will give you an experience boost in job mastery, and also increase the support between your character pairs.

Finally, the Chore Master doesn’t offer any extra party benefits aside from just support increases, so save this for last. The Chore Master simply gives you a list of activities to do, ranging from tending to a street stall to organizing documents.

Choose an activity, then select two characters to accompany you to increase your support ranks between all three of you. Just like with the meals, different characters have different preferences for chores, so make sure to pick a chore that’s preferred by the characters you want to bond with.

Expeditions

The Expeditions function works very similarly to the Tea Party feature in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Whenever a character wants to go on an Expedition with you, you’ll get a prompt on the left side of the screen. While back at camp, speak with that character and choose to go on an Expedition together.

While on an Expedition, you can ask the character a question, or just pick a topic of conversation. You’ll need to choose the responses that fit the character’s personality the most in order to get the biggest support boost possible.

You’ll have three opportunities to strike up conversation with them, so you’ll want to at least get two out of three responses correct to make the most of your time.
