Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Reveals Screenshot from Canceled Pixel Art Game

Today Mistwalker CEO Hironobu Sakaguchi had something special to reveal in the form of a screenshot.

The reveal, made on the developer’s personal Twitter account, showcases a pixel art project that apparently has been canceled and had a frog as the main hero.

Nothing else was revealed, including title, platforms, or any other detail.

If you’re unfamiliar with Hironobu Sakaguchi, he’s known primarily as the creator of the Final Fantasy franchise, on which he worked until Final Fantasy X-2.

He has also majorly contributed in many more Square titles including Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Legend of Mana, and more.

Recently, his studio has released the JRPG Fantasian for Apple Arcade, which has been met with acclaim from both critics and fans.

Sakaguchi-san is also an enthusiastic fan of Final Fantasy XIV, and regularly reports on his MMORPG adventures on social media.
