Fall Guys for Xbox & Switch Delayed Out of Summer; Will Include Crossplay

Today Mediatonic revealed that the upcoming Xbox and Switch versions of Fall Guys (currently only on PlayStation and PC) will be delayed. Originally slated to release sometime this summer, Mediatonic has decided that they will not have enough time to do everything they need to do by that originally release window. There currently isn’t a replacement release window but Mediatonic states they want to launch on Xbox and Switch as quickly as possible.

With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we’ve realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on.

While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience. This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice.

On the bright side, Mediatonic did also confirm that both upcoming versions of Fall Guys will feature crossplay. While they didn’t precisely confirm how crossplay will work, based on the wording above it seems likely it will be full crossplay across all platforms.

Finally, the devs also confirmed that the season 4.5 update is on the way and will add two new rounds and costumes. However, there is no firm date for that either.

The most recent season of Fall Guys, Season 4, released back in March with a futuristic theme.
