Dragon Quest X Offline for PS5, PS4, Switch, & PC Gets Japanese Release Date & New Trailer

2 years 7 months ago

Today Square Enix hosted a livestream at Tokyo Game Show 2021 and announced new details and revealed a new trailer of Dragon Quest X Offline.

We learn that the game will launch inJapan for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on February 26, 2022.

In case you missed the original announcement back in May, this is basically what it says on the tin, offering an offline JRPG to experience the story of the online Dragon Quest X MMORPG.

It’ll have dedicated NPCs that will act as party members, whom you can see in today’s trailer below.

We also learn that a DLC portraying the story of the first expansion “The Sleeping Hero and the Guided Allies” will launch in Japan in the spring of 2022.

You probably have read all the “in Japan” in the article, because the game has not been announced for the west and it wasn’t included in Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show programming, which isn’t a good sign in the perspective of a localization. It’s quite likely that, like its online version, Dragon Quest X Offline will remain confined to Japan.

Of course, you never know, but you’d say this would be the perfect chance to let western fans experience the Dragon Quest stories they have been missing. All we can do is keep asking for a localization and hoping.
