Baldur’s Gate 3 Launching Early Access in August (Maybe)

3 years 11 months ago

During the Guerrilla Collective show, Larian Studios announced a window for the early access of Baldur’s Gate 3.

The game will be playable in early access in August 2020. That being said, this is still a “Maybe” due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That being said, Larian Studios has made a lot of progress so they’re almost sure to be able to hit the August Window.

Another gameplay livestream will happen during D&D Live on June 18, so we won’t need to wait for August to see more of the game.

Below you can check out the new trailer and the video update from the studio.

If you want to see more about Baldur’s Gate 3 you can check out the original announcement trailer, a clip introducing the project, a video celebrating the announcement, the first extensive gameplay, and plenty of screenshots.

You should also read our extensive preview and interview about the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 will release for PC and Stadia when it’s ready. At the moment, Larian Studio isn’t talking about additional platforms.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, here’s how Larian describes it.

“Gather your party, and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power.

Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a Mind Flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil.

From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons.”
