September Nintendo Direct Highlights

Unlike the past few years of Nintendo Directs, the company didn't have its usual summer showcace in June -- which means today included some of the biggest announcements of the year. The most important news was an update and released date for Breath of the Wild 2, which is now called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Another huge announcement was that Switch fans will finally be getting Pikmin 4 almost 10 years after the last installment of the game.

Those were the most important Nintendo Direct highlights, but there were a lot more exciting updates from the show. The Nintendo Switch Online expansion pack will soon include some of the most popular N64 games -- including GoldenEye 007 and Pokemon Stadium. There was also a announcement for Fire Emblem Engage, following leaks, that the game will be arriving in January.

Make sure to also tune into the upcoming PlayStation State of Play stream today for more updates on video games.
