Genshin Impact Guide: How to Get the Best Venti Build

3 years 1 month ago
Venti is one of the many bards of Mondstadt. What separates him from the rest is that he likes alcohol a bit too much, he’s allergic to cats, and he’s Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. Venti is a great 5-star character to start off with. He makes exploration easy with his elemental skill and provides great utility with his elemental burst.

Venti’s Role in the Party

Venti is a support character, which means that he’s not going to occupy the field for long. He casts his elemental burst, elemental skill, or both, then leaves the battlefield to the main DPS to do their damage. Venti doesn’t need the “right” party to shine, you can put him in any party as its support and he’ll just make it work.

Venti’s Talents

Venti’s Talents are all good, but the ones to keep an eye on are: Wind’s Grand Ode
  • Fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in objects and opponents and deals continuous Anemo DMG.
  • Elemental Absorption: If the Stormeye comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro elements, it will deal additional elemental DMG of that type.
  • Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.
Skyward Sonnet
  • Press: Summons a Wind Domain at the opponent's location, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching opponents into the air.
  • Hold: Summons an even larger Wind Domain with Venti as the epicenter, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and launching affected opponents into the air. After unleashing the Hold version of this ability, Venti rides the wind into the air.
  • Opponents hit by Skyward Sonnet will fall to the ground slowly.
Embrace of Winds
  • Holding Skyward Sonnet creates an upcurrent that lasts for 20 seconds.
These talents make Venti the great support character that he is. His Elemental Burst pulls nearby enemies for an easy grouping for the DPS to finish, while his Elemental Skill works in tandem with his passive, Embrace of Winds, if you want to reach high places. Not only that, but Venti also has insane Energy Recharge. This means he can use his Elemental Burst even before its cooldown finishes. For talent ascension, the priority would be:
  • Wind Grand’s Ode
  • Skyward Sonnet
  • Divine Marksmanship
You can leave Skyward Sonnet and Divine Marksmanship behind. The most important part of his kit is his absurd Elemental Burst. genshin-impact-venti-guide-best-talents

Venti’s Constellations

Venti with 0 constellations is already enough for an S-rank support character. But if you really want to whale for him, these are his constellations:
Splitting Gale (C1) Fires 2 additional arrows per Aimed Shot, each dealing 33% of the original arrow's DMG.
Breeze of Reminiscence (C2)  Skyward Sonnet decreases enemy Anemo RES by 12% for 10s.

Enemies launched by Skyward Sonnet suffer an additional 12% Anemo RES and Physical RES decrease while airborne.

Ode to Thousand Winds (C3)  Increases the Level of Wind's Grand Ode by 3.Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Hurricane of Freedom (C4)  When Venti picks up an Elemental Orb or Particle, he receives a 25% Anemo DMG Bonus for 10s.
Concierto dal Cielo (C5)  Increase the Level of Skyward Sonnet by 3.Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Storm of Defiance (C6)  Targets who take DMG from Wind's Grand Ode have their Anemo RES decreased by 20%.

If an Elemental Absorption occurred, then their RES towards the corresponding Element is also decreased by 20%.

All of these improve Venti’s already excellent moveset. The ones to keep an eye on are C2 and C6. C1 and C4 might also be good if you’re really pushing him to be a Sub-DPS, but C2 and C6 are great constellations to have since they decrease the enemy’s resistance for an easy kill. genshin-impact-venti-guide-best-constellations

Venti’s Best Weapons

One of the most important stats for Venti is Elemental Mastery as most of his damage comes from his Elemental Skill and Burst. With that being said, the best weapon for him, in my opinion, is The Stringless. Maybe Windblume Ode and Favonius Warbow follow a close second, but The Stringless is by far the best one out there. This weapon gives Elemental Mastery and increases the damage of the character’s Elemental Burst and Skill. It was like this bow was made especially for him. genshin-impact-venti-guide-best-weapons

Venti’s Best Artifacts

The best artifacts for Venti are either: Noblesse Oblige
  • 2-piece: Elemental Burst DMG +20%.
  • 4-piece: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
Viridescent Venerer
  • 2-piece: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece: Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.
A 4-piece of either of these artifact sets works, I can’t recommend one over the other as these two have different functions. It all depends on what kind of damage dealer you have. If you have a Main DPS that mostly deals physical damage, go for Noblesse Oblige. Decreasing the opponent’s Elemental RES has no merits for you as you’re not dealing any consistent elemental damage at all. However, if you have a main DPS like Klee or Ganyu, go for Viridescent Venerer. Reducing the opponent’s Elemental RES can go a long way with these characters. This artifact set also boosts Swirl damage, meaning you’re going to deal much more damage in the long run. Keep in mind that we’re not building Venti to be a DPS powerhouse, but a support character that’s able to do decent damage while he’s in the field. genshin-impact-venti-guide-best-artifactsWith that discussion out of the way, here are some of the stats to look out for artifacts:
  • Energy Recharge
  • Anemo DMG
  • Attack
  • Crit
The best percentage of Energy Recharge for Venti falls under 165% to 175%, this will allow you to recharge your Elemental Burst with a single Elemental Skill. Anemo DMG is self-explanatory, so is Attack. Critical on the other hand is situational and only if you have the Favonius Warbow as Critical hits have a chance to drop orbs which helps recharge your Elemental Burst while you have it equipped. To be safe, go for Energy Recharge and Anemo Damage. I think that’s about it! I hope this guide helped you understand a little bit more about building Venti. I hope you have fun playing with the Anemo Archon, and remember to keep him away from cats! [poilib element="accentDivider"]  Cedric Pabriga is a freelance writer for IGN.
