9 New Trailers We Saw at the 2023 gamescom Awards

The gamescom 2023 awards have come and gone. And similar to events like The Game Awards, we got some new trailers for upcoming games. Nine total were shown off at this year's gamescom, which you can read about below.

The Time I Have Left

The Time I Have Left is an upcoming adventure game with a sprinkle of RPG elements. Players control Aline who has six hours to live as they race against the clock, all while facing unnerving visions of death and unraveling the mystery of Colony 7. The Time I Have Left is slated to launch next year for PC.

Universe for Sale

Set on a space station in the clouds of the planet Jupiter, Universe for Sale is a point and click adventure game with a beautiful hand-drawn art style. Developer Tmesis Studio and publisher Akupara Games note that in Universe for Sale "a bizarre bazaar where a young, worried woman crafts entire universes in the palm of her hand." Universe for Sale has no release date, but its Steam page notes it is "coming soon."

#BLUD

#BLUD is an upcoming dunfgeon crawler developed by Exit 73 in collaboration with Humble Games. Players controler Becky Brewsyer, a school-aged girl that must try to strik the right balance of school, hanging out with friends, and slaying monsters. We got another look at #BLUD and the release window of 2024 remains the same as it was previously known.

Altered Alma

An metroidvania with dating sim and RPG elements, Altered Alma is a cyberpunk-themed space opera set on the the fictional city of Neo-Barcelona. The latest trailer introduces new enemies, a new area, and plenty of action. No release date yet, but developer 2Awesome Studio and Critical Reflex say that Altered Alma is "coming soon" and will be available on PC.

First Dwarf

Announced back in 2022, First Dwarf is an uopen-world action RPG that also includes a few elements found in the survival and base building genres. First Dwarf has players exploring a fantasy world where they not only build a base but explore the in-game setting in a cool mech.

Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines

A sequel to the 2022 platformer, Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is a sequel that builds on the foundation its charming predecessor set forth. With a colorful 2D art style as you travers various locations and use a grappling hook to bypass some obstacles. Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is out next year.

Wandering Sword

An RPG with stunning 3D pixel artwork, Wandering Sword has players control a young swordsmen who tries to walk a path to pursue the highest form of matrial arts after a near-death experience. Wandering Sword is slated to launch on Seotmeber 15.

Grime 2

Grime 2 is a action-adventure metroidvania with some heavy influences of soulsborne titles like Elden Ring. A sequel to 2021's Grime, the sequel will have players control a Formless, which developer Clover Bite describes as an "art mimic" that is capable of "absorbing creatures and summing molds in their shape." Grime 2 does not have a release date as of now.

Off the Grid

Following its announcement last year, developer Gunzilla showed off a gameplay trailer for Off the Grid, its upcoming cyberpunk battle royale. The new trailer shows off plenty of third-person action, and in addition to PvP elements, Off the Grid will also include PvE elements as you face off against 149 other players in an arena. However, the game will also include a narrative-driven campaign, which, according to the developer, will take about 60 hours to complete.
