UPDATE 18/1/24: Following a last-minute delay yesterday as Bethesda attempted to resolve an unspecified "issue", Starfield's latest update has been released for beta testing on Steam.

As previously detailed, this new update promises "over a hundred fixes and adjustments", with its focus primarily being on quality-of-life improvements and quest fixes. A full breakdown of everything addressed in the update - officially known as 1.9.47.0 - can be found in Bethesda's release notes, with notable changes including improved textures, lighting, and shadows, as well as additional widescreen support and stability improvements.

"As we noted last year," the studio adds, "we'll continue to have a steady stream of updates about every six weeks, so if you dont see your issue addressed below, don't lose faith!"
