YOASOBI premiered an English version of its hit “Idol,” which serves as the opening of the anime Oshi no Ko. You can watch it via YouTube. As of the time of writing, the English version of “Idol” already passed over 605,000 views.

Ayase still performs the vocals, and the animations for the music video are the same. Doga Kobo, who animated the Oshi no Ko anime, also worked on the music video for the opening. Konnie Aoki is the one who translated the lyrics and, with BFNK, directed the vocals.

The Japanese version of “Idol” was very popular, as it achieved over 23 million views within a week. Currently, it’s been a month since YOASOBI uploaded the music video onto YouTube, and it has over 119 million views now.

Oshi no Ko is a popular anime and manga series about the idol industry, though with a murder mystery twist. It follows the story of Aquamarine Hoshino, who is the son of idol Ai Hoshino. He is also actually the reincarnation of gynecologist Gorou Amamiya. He and his twin Ruby (also a reincarnation) both enter show business for different reasons

Oshi no Ko is available to watch on HIDIVE, and the English dub started airing from May 24, 2023.
