Virtua Fighter 3tb Online

Sega revealed a new arcade game called Virtua Fighter 3tb Online at the Amusement Expo in Tokyo Big Sight, and it shared direct feed screenshots of it in a new press release. It will release the arcade game on November 28, 2023. A Premium Music Collection album containing new arrangements with vocals from Takenobu Mitsuyoshi will also appear on the same day.

The new arcade release will retain the gameplay balance from the latest version of Virtua Fighter 3tb while adding the online matching features built for Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown and support for player names with Aime cards.

The main game will retain the 4:3 aspect ratio, but Sega will also add more information columns to fill the now-standard 16:9 screen. Each side will show the respective player's titles, win rates, and comments. If the player is in a single-player mode, the other side will instead show a command list for their current character.

Virtua Fighter 3tb (with tb being short for "team battle") is an upgraded version of the 1996 entry Virtua Fighter 3 that Sega released in 1997. As the title suggests, it added a Team Battle mode where each player can choose three characters.

When Sega launched its Dreamcast console in Japan in November 1998, Virtua Fighter 3tb was a launch game. Other than the new online arcade release, Sega will also include the title in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which is slated for release on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC on January 26, 2024.

Virtua Fighter 3tb Online will be available on arcades in Japan on November 28, 2023.
