Super Mario RPG Issue

Nintendo announced that a patch to fix the current version of Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch, which an issue that could prevent progress. The update to fix the issue is planned to release in December 2023, and the company will deliver more information about it at a later date.

The aforementioned glitch can happen after the Paratroopa event triggers in Monstro Town. After the event, when the player heads to Land’s End to continue with the main quest, the Paratroopa squad might not appear. This causes a soft-lock that blocks the player from progressing.

However, Nintendo revealed that there is currently a workaround to prevent this issue from happening in Super Mario RPG. The way to avoid this it involves the player traveling back to the Mushroom Kingdom, and then returning to Land’s End. Doing this will make the Paratroopa unit appear as intended.

Nintendo added that there is no need to go inside the castle in the Mushroom Kingdom, and that simply visiting the surrounding town should suffice in order to fix the issue. Additionally, this workaround fix can be performed by using fast travel through the map option, or traveling through the overworld.

Super Mario RPG is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, and a patch will appear in December 2023. The original version of the game released for the SNES and Super Famicom on May and March 1996, respectively.
