Months after Crunchyroll first simulcast Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac - Battle for Sanctuary on the streaming service, Japan will finally be able to watch the battle of the saints. All twelve episodes of Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac - Battle for Sanctuary will air on various streaming services in Japan from January 1, 2023. There is also a new preview trailer for it. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The show uses 3DCG throughout. It focuses on the story of Seiya, a young orphan who must fight the Twelve Gold Knights in order to save Athena’s life. Seiya is a Bronze Saint and he only has twelve hours to complete this task or else Athena will die. Chronologically, this takes place after the first Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac show, which first appeared on Netflix in 2019 and 2020.
