Resident Evil 4 Monster Hunter Record Profits

Capcom announced another year of record profits in its Consolidated Results for the Year Ended March 2023 report. It attributed this to many factors, although both the remake of Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are mentioned by name.

Capcom’s net sales for the past financial year were 125.9 billion yen (roughly $936 million), an increase of 14.4% from the previous year. Operating income increased 18.4%, ordinary income was up by 15.9%, and net income was up 12.9%. This marks Capcom’s sixth consecutive year of record profits at all levels and a record high for net sales.

Resident Evil and Monster Hunter continue to be huge successes for Capcom. Resident Evil 4 reached sales numbers of 4 million units as of April 7, 2023 while Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has sold 5 million units as of January 18, 2023.

In addition to Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom attribute the company's success to sales of older digital titles and the use of their brands in movies, merchandise and esports. They aim to keep this up for the next financial year, with predictions of 140 billion yen in net sales.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 is available now for the PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out now for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
