User data from Pokemon Sleep shows that, at least in Japan, players of the game have slept more in 2023 compared to 2022. Players slept almost thirty minutes more on average in September 2023 than in September 2022. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

LY Corporation was the one to present these findings. It tracked data from Pokemon Sleep users and search engines and compared them with a control group that didn’t play or use the app. It found that not only did players enjoy around 26 more minutes of sleep on average compared to their sleep time in 2022, but they also tended to research better methods as well. Some search terms that users looked for included aromatherapy recommendations, ways to sleep when not sleepy, and ideal sleep patterns.

In comparison, only a few people from the control group searched for ways to improve their sleep. They also didn’t look for as many options as the Pokemon Sleep players. The control group only had a minute more sleep time in 2023 compared to 2022. This study showed that the app did help people sleep more, as well as made them seriously think more about ways to improve it.

Pokemon Sleep is available on mobile devices.
