The more recent Persona games always offer situations where there is so much to do, but not enough time to do accomplish everything. With Persona 3 Reload, I ended up finding the Dating Site Note and shared computer in the dorm to be one of the best quality of life features, and it saved me from wasting so much time.
Not, the Dating Site Note isn’t exactly what it sounds like, but at the same time totally is. Once you get to November in the game — which is starting to be crunch time as we all know — the Paulownia Mall URL vendor at the club will begin selling the Dating Site Note. Unlike his other URLs, you can buy multiples of it. This is because for each use, you can choose one of your social links and get a two point boost to the relationship.
I can’t tell you what a boon and a relief it was to get that extra incentive. Especially given how attractive the idea of spending time with SEES members to earn additional skills via things like cooking, gardening, and reading can be. Given Mutatsu and Tanaka are the only “night” social links and the additional opportunities to get social stat boosts via interacting with allies or the shared computer software, I ended up having nights by the middle of November when I had nothing to do. Go to bed? Never.
I also found it was incredibly helpful for some of those more frustrating social links. For example, Akinari Kamiki’s social link is only available on Sundays during the day. He only becomes an option once you get Maiko’s link to Rank 3 and in August. Spending a few nights per week on the Dating Site Note at the shared computer in Persona 3 Reload really made it easier to boost that relationship. It also came in handy for getting closer to Mitsuru, given her social link only unlocks at the end of November as well.
But perhaps what I found most handy was how affordable it is. In terms of URLs, it isn’t the least expensive. You’re paying 3,000 yen for each use of the site. However by the point of the game it unlocks, odds are you’re relying on the Monad materials to make character weapons and equipment and you don’t have much use for money anymore. It’s an ideal quality of life addition.
I just really appreciated how the Persona 3 Reload Dating Site Note makes it feel like Atlus valued my time. Like yes, this is a game where you do want to be challenged and feel like you’re making the most of your time. But with the additional activities and side story segments, as well as knowing about certain time-sensitive moments that might require you to perform specific actions at the right time, it is nice having this optional security blanket to improve your relationships with different characters.
