La Corda d'Oro Starlight Orchestra shutting down

Koei Tecmo and Ruby Party will end online services for La Corda d'Oro: Starlight Orchestra on March 29, 2024. The mobile game ran for about three years following a launch in February 2021. There will be no celebrations for the outgoing game's third anniversary in February 2024, as Ruby Party will focus on releasing the final event and character story chapters.

Shortly after shutting down the online-exclusive game, Ruby Party will release an offline archive version that existing players can download to review stories and cards that they have unlocked. Koei Tecmo will also process refunds for unused paid jewels from March 30, 2024, to June 30, 2024. However, it will first change the jewel usage behavior to prioritize paid jewels over free jewels after disabling in-app purchases on February 28, 2024.

The shutdown announcement came not long after Ruby Party celebrated the La Corda d'Oro series' 20th anniversary in September 2023. During the anniversary month, it announced a collaboration cafe and numerous merchandise, but it did not reveal any new games. The studio even listed Starlight Orchestra in the mainline chronology on the anniversary webpage. La Corda d'Oro Octave, the series' latest console entry released for PS4, Switch, and PC in 2019, was not included in this chronology.

La Corda d'Oro: Starlight Orchestra is available on iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan until March 29, 2024.
