Kirby and the Forgotten Land sold over 4 million units

Over 4 million units of Kirby and the Forgotten Land have been sold worldwide. It has also set a new sales record for the entire Kirby series. Nintendo revealed the milestone on the 13th page of the presentation of its financial results for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year, which ran from April to June 2022.

The page also compared the sales of Forgotten Land to previous Kirby titles. The 2014 3DS game Kirby Triple Deluxe had over 2 million units sold during its lifetime, while the 2018 Switch entry Kirby Star Allies almost reached 4 million units sold. Forgotten Land set a record in both quantity and speed, as it surpassed all prior entries and hit the 4 million mark in just 15 weeks after its release on March 25, 2022.

Forgotten Land is a new 3D action game where Kirby explores a mysterious world with abandoned buildings while rescuing Waddle Dees. The titular protagonist has a new Mouthful Mode that lets him swallow large objects like a car or a vending machine. The game also supports local co-op multiplayer.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available worldwide on Nintendo Switch. People who have not bought the game yet can also download and play a demo for free via the Nintendo eShop.
