Kemono Kore My Hero Academia Figures Turn Characters into Animals

Pre-orders just opened for a Kotobukiya and Takara Tomy’s new line of My Hero Academia figures. This is a Kemono Kore, which could be translated as Animal Collection, line of blind box figures. All of them feature concepts based on Toshio Asakuma designs. The set of six shows My Hero Academia characters as animals. They are expected to ship in Japan in December 2022. A box will be 1,000円 (~$9), and getting a full box of them guarantees you will get one of each figure. And yes, Tsuyu “Froppy” Asui is a frog.

Each of these Kemono Kore My Hero Academia animal figures is between 2 inches and 3 inches tall. All of them come with a clear, plastic stand for display purposes. In every case, the animal picked is designed to go along with a character’s personality or nature.

Here’s the full list of My Hero Academia characters in the lineup and their “animal” personas.

  • Izuku “Deku” Midoriya is a Yorkshire Terrier dog.
  • Katsuki “Dynamight” Bakugo is a ring-tailed lemur.
  • Shoto Todoroki is a cat.
  • Ochaco “Uravity” Uraka is a lop-eared rabbit.
  • Tsuyu “Froppy” Asui is a frog.
  • All Might is a lion.

Here’s a closer look at each of them.
