Katsuhiro Harada Started Brainstorming Tekken 8 Character Azucena Seven Years Ago

Tekken 8 Producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed exactly when he started thinking about new character Azucena. When sharing a social media post from a fan, he noted that he’s been thinking about creating the newcomer for about seven years.

This means that around 2017, Harada was probably thinking about the concept behind the character. He noted the idea for her first started coming to mind then. As a reminder, Tekken 7 debuted on consoles and PCs back in 2017. So this means he’d been thinking about her since around the last installment.
