The Hololive New Year Cup Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament for the Cover Vtubers was held January 7-8, 2024, and Tokoyami Towa won. Hoshimachi Suisei came in second, with Todoroki Hajime taking third place.
The top 12 finalists for the competition included a mix of members from the Japanese and English branches of the company. Here’s who managed to make it in, and which place they took in the tournament.

- Ouro Kronii - 22 Points
- Ninomae Ina’nis - 21 Points
As a reminder, a few of these competitors were entirely new to both Hololive and the competition. Hololive EN Advent’s Bijou and ReGLOSS’ Todoraki Hajime are two Vtubers who joined the company in 2023.
There was also a Zako Cup where the players who earned the fewest points go to determine who is the worst of the worst. In the past, Yuzuki Choco’s taken last place in it. However, she didn’t participate in the 2024 tournament. However, this year Hololive DEV_IS ReGLOSS Vtuber Hiodoshi Ao took the crown. That came up at about the 2 hour and 55 minute mark of the stream.
