E3 2024 Won’t Be at LA Convention Center if It Happens

The Entertainment Software Association

There’s an update on the state of E3. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) made two announcements regarding the future of the event. The first is that Reedpop, a company that runs events, will no longer assist in the event. The second is that if E3 2024 does happen, it won’t be at the Los Angeles Convention Center anymore. [Thanks, GameIndustry.biz!]

The ESA statement didn’t go over why it will no longer use the Los Angeles Convention Center as a possible E3 2024 location. However, it hasn’t been the spot for the event before. While it was the home of the show in 1995 and 1996, it was also held at Georgia’s World Congress Center in 1997 and 1998 and the Santa Monica Airport in 2007. However, the majority of the years it ran, it was held in Los Angeles. The only exception in recent years is 2021, when E3 was held online.

E3 2020, 2022, and 2023 were all canceled. When the news about E3 2023 came out, the ESA and Reedpop said they would "re-evaluate the future of E3."

There’s no confirmation yet as to whether or not E3 2024 will happen. The ESA also didn't detail what the future of the show could end up looking like.
