Pikachu Dancing in Yokohama

In celebration of the 2023 Pokemon World Championships, the city of Yokohama is holding a week-long Pokemon festival filled with Pikachu mascot costume parades, street artwork, live performances, and more. The celebratory events are marketed as being enjoyable for all ages, across all languages (as most of them are non-verbal displays). Admission into all events is completely free.

One such celebratory event is the Pokemon Fantastic Live Show, also titled "We Move!!" Rinko Park is hosting this laser light show dance performance from August 8-14. During the show, a mass of Pikachu mascot costumes fill the stage as they march in unison. They even perform synchronized dancing alongside the other human performers (who thankfully can use their hands to clap, while the Pikachu flap their arms in an attempt to hype up the crowd). The Pikachu twirl and wobble to a mixture of music genres including trap and pop.

This will be the first time ever that the Pokemon World Championships will be held in Japan. The 2023 Pokemon World Championships Celebration Events will be taking place in Yokohama, Japan from August 8-14, 2023. Admission to the events is completely free.
