In an upcoming interview with Famitsu, Bandai Namco Entertainment CEO Nao Udagawa expressed that the company plans to focus on Armored Core 6, Elden Ring, and Tekken 8 for the time being. It is also considering implementing games in its Gundam Metaverse. It wants to make more content for the Idolmaster franchise too. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]
Both Armored Core 6 and Tekken 8 are still in development. However, they will be the two major releases that Bandai Namco publishes in the near future, fiscal year 2023, and going into next year. So the company will put a lot of time and money into promoting them. This also goes for the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, which is the award-winning game’s first major expansion.
Other information from the interview focused on upcoming platforms, Idolmaster, and Baten Kaitos. For starters, Udagawa reiterated that Bandai Namco will choose release platforms based on the target audience for the title. It plans on releasing more Idolmaster content in the future. As well, the reason why it remastered Baten Kaitos was due to audience demand. So if there is a game from Bandai Namco that a lot of fans really want to see again, it is possible that enough voices might make the company consider it.
The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring, Tekken 8, and Armored Core 6 are in development. Armored Core VI will come out on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC on August 25, 2023. The Elden Ring DLC and Tekken 8 do not have a release date yet.
