Community GOTY 2019 Winners

Congratulations, Director.
Congratulations, Director.

Hey everyone! These are the results of last year's Community GOTY voting results - the results of which (resultingly) have been resulted below. This year, 3462 of you submitted a top ten list, for a total of 27791 (not everyone always puts in ten games, which is fine) on 828 different games.

(You'll note that these numbers are somewhat smaller than last year - unfortunately I think I did a poor job of promoting the links to the voting story during GOTY. That's my bad and I'll try to be better about it next year! If you missed your opportunity to vote, my apologies!)

Even so, it's interesting to see that (adapted for percentage of voters from this year to last), the votes were spread out across more games in the top ten of these lists. Last year, God of War and Red Dead Redemption II were the clear winners in the weighted poll, and while Control is still well above the other games this year, we're not seeing a situation where last year's #1 game got twice as many weighted votes as the #3 game did. So it seems like there was fewer consensus picks for "best games of the year," which hopefully meant that it was a great year for games!

As per usual, we don't always separate out expansions or new ports in our wiki so if you see stuff like Dragon Quest XI or Destiny 2 you can assume that it's referring to a recent release. Now, if you'll excuse me, I should really get back to Sekiro.

Weighted Votes (1st place counts more than 2nd, and so on)
